I've owned 3 Civic Si's and just got a Type R in August. It's not even comparable between them. This is a totally different beast. My only complaint is, While the wheels are made well and look good. They're just too big. 18's or 19's would have been fine. The issue with the 20 inch wheels is there is no wiggle room for thicker tires which this car needs. The Continentals that came with mine are like rubber bands. Don't fully understand the idea they had

Better grip on the skidpad and for cornering, worse for the dragstrip and comfort. It's a compromise they made. And since the FWD drive isn't going to win drag races anyway, they made it into a lap time monster instead.

Undeniably the C8 Corvette is a performance bargain, few could argue its impact on the sport car market. Definitely on par or even better than many more expensive exotics especially the z06, its certainly a game changer.
I feel the that the Corvette is the exception, not the rule. I do own a C5 Corvette still, I love but its had its issues. Don't get me wrong if I could afford a new C8 I might pull the trigger on that, but again the exception. This is GMs icon car, let's hope they put their heart and soul into its engineering and QUALITY.
All that great performance means nothing if it's not a reliable car.
As for the rest of GMs line up, cars trucks, SUVs I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole.
As Scotty mentioned they basically gave the middle the middle finger to its customers on this class action lawsuit about defective wheels, and weaseled their way out of any responsibility. What kind of Sh*tty company does that? General Motors. They got away with it once, they'll do it again. Why would you trust the products from a company like that?

I tried to buy one of the 600 cash. The EF and EG are also the most built platform. The S2000, NSX, and the Del Sol were low in numbers. I'm building a 500hp Del sol with all carbon fiber and lexan except front and $3k suspension on a k-series 6 speed lsd. Can't wait. 😎. I know people personally who's gotten way under 10's on a 30 yr old car. Japanese know what their doing. Quality over money. I would consider a civic si coupe if you want a manual or a Acura TL if you want SH-AWD or PAWS for better handling. The prelude checks a lot of unique boxes that aren't really catered to in modern vehicles. A manual, 2 Door, inline 4 with all wheel steering sounds like a lot of fun.

I remember going into a honda ripp off store 1999, on danforth rd. I was considering a honda civic and a gti vr6. Equal, I thought, boy I wAs wrong the honda tried to hose me. Long story short drove the golf for years. Slightly modified, with a chip, muffler, pulleys, quick shifter. It went like hell and I loved it.

For this level price, you can easily get a Ford Mustang Premium Ecoboost or a mid level Mustang GT, both of which are more powerful than the Civic R. I bought a Mustang Premium Ecoboost for $40K, brand new this year. A way more fun car to drive than this Honda Civic.

I think Honda did an great job on the design of this Civic generation. Love the cuts and angles. And they also did a great job changing the design and ruining this generation with the new 2022 design. Turning it into a smaller accord. Smh

drifting is part of racing, and you need to know when and how to drift because you can go faster. Front-wheel cars have more limitations in racing than rear-wheel drive cars.
