Thanks for watching!
Wait! What?!?! Awesome!!! I don't know why but I think of a big B A Moose looking at it ... Name it Bullwinkle.
Little Red (if stays red). Can't wait to see the build tho.
Fab train....this is going to be a Fantastic build
Bad ass THE CHEVY CUSTOM HAULER...IS OVER THE TOP..
YOU DEFINITELY THINK OUT SIDE THE BOX...GOOD LUCK...AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR WIFE...
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOURS TOO!
No stacks,no headache rack..
Build boxes in the sides of trailer for chains ,straps, and binders, jacks bars gloves, exc.
I can’t wait to see this project on big red 👍👍
YES!!!! That will be fun to watch you build.
This rendition of your Lil Red Ryder is phenomenal! love all the ideas, love the idea of the stacks and headache rack and the storage for tools, jacks, etc. under the bed, this is going to be your best build yet!!
Just had a thought. Big rig stacks but use them as side pipes. That would be a Nasty Look.
I'm not sure about the stacks. But the headache rack I feel would be a must. And maybe get with Corey wheats about the patina paint job. He's really good with that .
Wanderlust! Sounds appropriate to me at least! Whatever you name it I tip my hat to you for your creativity and not being afraid to think outside the box!! 👍🏼😎👏😃
That is definitely badass
Love the concept. It's a big boy's truck. On the sleeper and the "GM did it" theme, use the smaller back glass from the '67 C 10 cab; it would be more appropriate to a sleeper as well. Going in, you will still have the chassis of the old farm truck as starter rails for the trailer. Have you thought of a steerable axle for the trailer, ala the Denali? On the side panel doors on the trailer- could you use the kind of full swing up mechanism that a passenger bus would? Remember, it's always your truck first and last. Glad I have a place to watch you do it from. If you are going to open carry other cars on it, I don't think you will want stacks, even on gasoline. If you run them, be sure they are several inches higher than what you are hauling.
Yeah I am hopping to find a small back window cab like you said. As for a steerable axle on the trailer I don't think I can make that work with the $5000 cap even if I wanted to.
That’s going to be one bad ass ride if it’s anything close to the rendering ❤
It should be pretty close to the rendering.
Hey Anthony,
That fella does great work with renderings !
You may not build that exact truck & trailer, but you now have something to work from to build "Little Big Rig".
Paint ? Bright red is way cool, maybe a tiny bit of patina look.
Stacks ? YES !
Headache rack ? NO !
Unless it is low, wide and simple and not painted black !
Maybe even enclosed but not connected to the back of the sleeper.
You could build storage bins under the trailer deck that slid out or even tilt out to access the tie down equipment.
You can also make storage for a shade awning, chairs, picnic and or camping gear.
That tailgate slant is nothing but cool and would work just fine to secure the ramps.
Deleting the Chevrolet and replacing it with Hard Core Fab or whatever the truck name turns out to be, would be cool, especially if you plasma cut letters and in set them into a depression in the tailgate and back light them with color changing LEDs.
Using the big seven pin light connector like a big rig for the trailer would be a good option.
Pipers should have nearly everything you need metal wise to build this truck and trailer.
Glad hands should work great for trailer air ride.
I am curious as to what Julie thinks of the rendering, especially the large sleeper.
This is exciting !
Looking forward to the build.
Maybe I can even get down and give you a few hours if you wish.
You are not all that far from Geneseo.
Take Care
Yes to all that! Julie loves the renderings.
Can’t wait. Don’t know what you’re going to call it but I’ll call it “Sick Red” God bless!!
Man thats gonna be cool! Looking forward to watching the build! We're diving into our buildoff build as well!
Sweet what are you building?
Should be a fun build. Can’t wait for the videos. Red Flyer
I think for your build off, keep the truck simple but definitely after the contest is over go for the headache rack and stacks idea more. This is going to be such a cool project when it's done! I can't wait to see the videos as work gets going!
Can't wait to see this thing. Awesome idea. That rendering is very cool
If you go red what about calling it hell boy, all the very best from Scotland
so couple ideas. For trailer clearance have you thought about maybe having the steps/side skirts hinge up. It would mean you'd probably have to get out and manually put them up when clearance is needed but the could also have springs attached so they may move some on there own. Kind of like mud flaps on a semi bent in if the get pushed from behind. Or if have seen a Yard Dog in action that moves semi trailers. The fifth wheel lifts up. Not sure if that would be road legal. otherwise great idea for the build. I have been watching and waiting to see where this goes. Excited to see where it leads.
Name Idea
BIG 10
simple but a word play to the truck and what it might be hauling in the future!
The minute I heard about you doing it within a decent budget I was all ears. God bless you and I hope you take your time and build that truck into what you want. Have fun!
Thanks!
Love the rendering! The color is spot on! One thing I would do is angle the sleeper to the width of the cab. Can’t wait to follow the build!
This truck is going to be sick.. Great job 👍👍
Great looking rendering to go from. Stacks work even being a gasser. Westcoast trucker mirrors and whip antennas add to it... Chevy Cameo.. pickups I believe had that angle on the tailgate. Rare and hard to find, and a shame to cut up... so a little fab work on the bed of a same year truck is in order. Definitely need to keep in mind the suspension and frame for the load. Mauler... the hauler... / .. cruiser (all these kids with trucks that are nothing more than a mall crawler). No wing on the top of the sleeper ? You can transfer the cargo doors from the motor home. To build your under trailer storage and even a side access on the sleeper. Like you see on a Semi. ... Lots of potential and creative work ahead. Will prove to be a great project.
😢😢😢In my opinion this is going to be an epic 2024 build ...love the concept...no side stacks or head rack and for the sleeper consider getting a 1980s GMC(or Ford Or Chevy) whichever you get cheap Country delivery van for the sleeper section ...not sure maybe even two for your dimension and join them midway ...not sure if you get the idea and also an aero cap that fits on the roof for aerodynamics and you can custom paint the shop emblem on it or go patina...
Just a thought from me if you aren’t using the fuel tanks you can make them into some storage. Then you’d maybe not need your headache rack. If that’s a design idea that you’re not sure about. I’m not sure the logistics of it but it would be pretty neat instead of not really have a use if you aren’t hiding the air ride stuff in them. I also think that having storage on the trailer side would be convenient for your tie downs and other things that you may not want out in the open when your towing. When you said that the 70s ford trucks came to mind and those were always handy! Can’t wait to see more of this build!
hey super kool no head hack rack side pipes most of these type trucks were grass burners.
Never to much, do it all. Little red would be perfect if u go red.
Oh baby!!This is gonna be fun to watch!
Antony sounds like a KILLER KOOL Project Happy new year
Cool!
From the side the trailer looks similar to a jeepster
Red on the head fire in the bed!!!!!! Going to be awesome build
”Semiconductor” ❤✅👍
Love this truck build!!! Can’t wait to see you get started.
Wishing you and Julie a Happy New Year
Happy New Year 🎉😊
Thanks! Happy New Years to you and yours too!
Very Cool Idea!! We thought about building and entering something too, but haven't decided yet! Look forward to seeing you at a show again soon!
Looks exciting! No stacks, your idea, make it clean and smooth. 2 Mini cycles for swap meet/ show transportation
Love it! Going to be a great build. My wife says "beddin' down" for a name. Looking forward to watching the build..HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!
I like the name and happy New Years to you guys as well!
I like it Anthony , this will be so cool no doubt. Iam loving it
Hey Anthony, my vote for the name of this AMAZING RIG would be something along the lines of "Rigga-Mine(Ma, Me, Muh)-Roll"! In reference to the stacks, that V-8 would sound mighty good blowin' unmuffled through a pair of 5" chrome straight stacks! You shouldn't have any problems sourcing them from any big truck salvage yards. I would think that they would likely be fairly reasonably priced due to the fact that this is typically the O.E. size and many of the Owner/Operators bump up the size of their stacks to, or above 7". I would think that these 5"ers would probably be a fairly low-demand part and the price would probably reflect that.
A thought that I had for one of the fuel tanks was to mount a 50ish gallon compressed air tank in it for a much quicker supply source of air for the suspension as well as having a good supply of on board air for impact tools, tire inflation, etc. The glad hand idea is a real good one and if you wanted to maintain a preset ride height you could pick up the leveling valves from the cab air ride off of 3 trucks. You certainly could utilize the drive axle leveling valves but they will likely be quite a bit more expensive and yours won't be running nearly as much pressure as a big truck suspension would run.
For the trailer axle you could use as rear axle from a 1-ton dually with the axle shafts pulled and ⅛" covers in place to seal up the hubs.
BTW, belated merry Christmas and best wishes for a happy, safe, and prosperous New Year!!!
Great ideas and Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to you as well!
Also an old car trailer could save a lot of time for the deck of your trailer. Selling things you don't use off the camper and car trailer. Love this project. Goliath would be an incredible name.
I watched the build of the rat rod and it was awesome brother waiting patiently for the next adventure with this awesome build !!!! Looks amazing brother
Thanks 👍
Awsome rendering …an yes u need to fill in that dead space behind the sleeper the rounded corners r Awsome jus longer ju enough to clear ur sleeper on ur turning radius
It looks like a Doug...... Cause I dig it!
I love it 🥰 especially the trailer rear design 😎👍😊
Yes on the stacks, shortys might look good, road ranger sounds good for a name. Cheers.
Looks like an awesome build!
That rendering is spot on and I would do that painting exactly the way it is, it's a C50 so if you want to get a little erotica with it seeing it has a sleeper, maybe 50 shades would be appropriate 😅😅, as far as the trailer goes I see a swing out tailgate party with a BBQ, sink with water tank and a mini fridge either swing out or pull out with ramp storage on the other side or behind the kitchen, don't forget the flat screen and satellite TV in the bunk, this is gonna be one sweet build and I can't wait to see it...
That would be killer! May have to do that after the build off. The budget is going to be so hard to stay under now!
Awesome catch you in the new year 🎉
I’m a huge fan. This truck is going to awesome. I’m excited for you. As far as the name goes I think it should be Grain Damage. (Old grain truck)
I like it but for another truck in the future.
Love it!!
Love it
How about Wicked Red. Big block making power and an awesomely wicked build. I am impressed and looking forward to the rest of the build.
Still needs a name, huh. How 'bout Big Hauler Shot Caller. Diggin the new build brother, I'll be watching for it.
All your ideas are great looks amazing thought a name could be the hard-core
Reaper or maybe red hot chilli peppers would look amazing with stacks
Looks like Clifford to me.
My two cents... what makes the rendering look cool is that it looks nothing like what was built, but looks, like you said, like GM built it back in 68-69. Adding stacks head rack would look like it's trying to be something it's not. And like 2 cents this can be thrown out. can't wait to see what's next.
The Hardcore Hauler
Love it god bless
You could drop the tail gate, had have the bed equipped to be able to lower it in the back to get the right angle to load and unload the cars. That would be really neat, plus have room for storage and pumps for the air ride.
That thought has crossed my mind.
Maybe some marker lights on the cab and trailer,it is a long rig
My truck does have cab lights, and they may get saved, we'll see!
I'm gonna say that's "Charlie Red" and my vote is Weedburners.
Use the landing Jack's off a 5th wheel travel trailer they have them with 12 volt electric motors to raise and lower them
That would be cool if I can find some!
@@HardCoreFab rv salvage yards if you have any or someone that is parting out a 5th wheel
Just can't wait ! I know you can do it ! It's going to be beautiful .
Thank you for the support!
No stacks looks awesome as it sits
Name it Hardcore
OMG I can't wait for this build Anthony! Also no stack's!
hope you take us along with you for the parts roundup love your trip to salvage yards
Will do
Sick, you gotta do it
Oh it's happening!!!
Draggin Wagon
Seeing you have a good mate named Red,you should include that in it's name.
This truck shall be called red terror
Gonna be a good one! Maybe Sleepy 'hauler or if you like red in the name Harcored Hauler
Sasquatch seems to be a fitting name to me. Great concept build man. Looking forward to the videos. Very fitting build for the new shop!
Can you add the head ache rack to the front of the trailer? The sleeper has such a clean look from behind. Kinda hate ro ruin it.
That is a thought!
Duals coming out each side behind the rear axle aluminum headache rack about 2 Inches below sleeper with tool box below chrome led work lights tank between frame rails with hidden cap on driver side
Use heavy duty RV jacks on the trailer and attach them to the trailers running boards.
I need to look and see if the camper has any jacks on it!
I'm in to watch....
Names I could think of was Blood and Thunder, or maybe Rufus - derived from an old English word for red
Man I can't Waite. Going to be bad a$$ build
Turning clearances on the trailer might put a little more distance between the truck and trailer than the picture shows 🤔 but still cool 😎
Like the concept. How about Big Red, Red Road Dog. As far as the headache rack maybe make a short one on the front of the trailer and maybe make so it would be protection for the vehicle that you are carrying onthe trailer. And with the sloped tailgate how about the flares on the trailer being narrowed step side fenders say off of a second gen 55chevy, they have a forward slope like the tailgate design, just saying. And i like the idea of stacks on it to reaĺy give it that Semi look. But what ever its your build you do what you think is right. Any way you have a bad@$$ rendering. Can't wait to see it come together.
Awesome
Well, I believe lil red Ryder it is, lol perfect name
The red sled
Project "Custom Eddy" since deep down inside it's an RV 😂 not because of the KS reference. But I'd love to turn an ex grain truck into a car hauler some day too.
Not bad I like it!
CALL the beast orange crush !
I dig this. Thats hot
Thanks!
Big Red Rig
This is awesome, the name should be HARD CORE BIG RED HAULER. IT TELLS WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT IT IS, $ 5000.00 is going to be tight.
Yes it is!
Very Cool 😎👍!
How about an emergency exit out of the sleeper? Passengers side, hit a switch, and 'X' amount of end of bed drops and acts like a slide down to a swing away panel for a way out?
No about stacks. If anything, some big turnout exhaust pipes that run along the bottom of the faux tanks that runs the length of the tanks that can also double as a step and they turn out at the rear fenders.
The trailer.... the side skirts can be lifted up and down with the hardware from a couple of tossed out adjustable bed mechanisms. Free to very, very cheap aquirement's.
The trailer landing gear, also cheap. Find some automatic type of landing/leveling jacks from a junk motorhome or camp trailers.
I LIKE THIS A LOT!
GOD'S SPEED TO YOU, MY FRIEND!
❤️✌️😎👍
Good luck with meeting the budget. I hope you have friends with lots of parts. It will be a very cool ride. No rack or stacks to gaudy. It is sleek now. How about "Helluva Hauler"?
BIG RED FOR A NAME. OR MAYBE CLIFFORD?
'The Big Red One'
Stacks and visor
6” stacks yes.
Headache rack no. Too much.
Full rat patina would be great.
BIG RED
I would say no to the stacks. I really like the clean look of it. I'm not sure on the head ache rack. I like the looks of the rear window. A nice custom touch would be to put a tool box on the unused tank. I saw it done on a semi once. As a truck driver i approve though! Only thing i would add is a drop visor with some led lights in it. Mike c
I do like the idea of a visor!
@HardCoreFab heck yeah.
Lil Red Rod Hauler
Put a Chevy van foldable bed seat in the sleeper. Dual purpose.
Big Red
