Piaget has announced the Polo 79, a reimagining of one of the most iconic watches of the 1970s/1980s. It's a hefty chunk of gold with familiar styling but a few changes that will divide opinion. And that price tag... ouch!

While I totally agree with you on the new one, the old originals will always have a special nostalgic place in my heart. The choices of Johnny Sack on screen, and legendary Philly boss Joey Merlino off screen. A very cool bit of 80's-don't-give-an-f-yuppy-fun, if you have then dosh for it, no matter how you got it.

I don't like to be negative about watches, but that one exudes about the same level of elegance and sophistication as a gold colored brick. :/
But it IS nice to get to see pieces out of the ordinary!
