- Why does Piaget have a Polo collection?
In 1979, Yves Piaget, 4th generation member of the Piaget family heard from his clients that they wanted a sporty yet elegant watch to wear while they were attending Polo matches. Yves listened and came back with the new Piaget Polo, a watch that would go on to spawn a new pillar collection from Piaget.
The new Polo 79 for 2024 is a faithful recreation of the original in its aesthetics, but upgrades key aspects for a modern audience.
Will it revive the watchmaking ;legacy of the storied maison? I think so. Развлечения
I’ve wanted one ever since Planes Trains and Automobiles.
That’s one sexy watch!!
The price will be its biggest hurdle especially as its 10 times the price of the original
I looked for more info on this watch and couldn’t find price. How much are they asking? Preowned are in the 7 -8k range
@@michaelpratchett4415 $78k
How can something be iconic if “most of us are not aware or have forgotten”?
Iconic in the sense that many have heard of the Polo collection but are not familiar with the details of how and why it was started. That's the meaning of that line.
❤❤❤2024
Piaget is separating men of the boys. PP and AP is for the boys and Piaget is for the men.
My gut is telling me many watch ppl will like this watch from Piaget but almost no one will actually buy it. Piaget's revenue i guess is less than Hamilton or Tudor or Longines or even Tissot. I think it's similar to maybe Mido... some okay watches but no one will actually buy. From house of jewely, pll will rather buy LUChopard, Cartier or even Bvlgari. Not Piaget.
That's an interesting take. I'll keep an eye out on whether it turns out to be a sales success or not.
Piaget je Vrhunska marka 👍
30k overpriced
True, what about PP nautilus STEEL for above the 100k 😂 or a RM above the 250K 😂
@kingxerxes3139 If you think so, I would have to agree.
@@dominickcolasanto6582 I don’t think, you have to be true to yourself, no watch that is made from steel should have a pricetag above the 5K.
@kingxerxes3139 That's another answer. I would have to disagree with that statement of yours that no watch in steel is worth above 5k.
@@dominickcolasanto6582 steel is worth nothing. And making of watches is not something new, we are not living in the 18th centurie, where a watch is rocketscience. People should know the difference between a pricetag and really what is worth.
