I have a 1962, gold 12P. Very simple, visually. Not even a second hand. But oh so thin, elegant and beautiful. I'm not a "watch person", and never really go any where to wear to a nice watch. However, I saw it in a jewellers window and simply fell in love with it. I also like the fact that it is only 3 years younger than I am. I look at it and wonder where it has been and who has worn it.
Once seen, i can't unsee this : the "SWISS MADE" isn't centered around the 6 O'Clock markers, "SWISS" is closer than "MADE" ... Fantastic Mini rotor movement though ...
fada fadoudi ha... you've pointed out something that's annoyingly sticking to your mind😅 I feel for the poor guy that bought the watch. He'd keep staring at that SWISS MADE wording😂
@@rayleeaustralia That's a close mindset would think. SWISS have 5 word, and MADE have 4. If you want to make it centered end to end the beginning S need to be aligned with the end E. The first word MADE need to be caps for the whole word to be centered. I think people buying this watch would think that way.
I Admire the brand and the watch. I'd get a Piaget or a Breguet before a Patek, or even before a Lange. Up there in my list. What a great review. Just think it's lacking minute markers. Subtle dots would have been nice... But I'm no watch designer.
I am lucky enough to own a watch with a FP72 off-center movement... 2.4mm thick with a full-size (not micro!) off-center rotor. Ultraslim watches are absolutely stunning. IMHO every bit as good as the Piaget movements.
Yep, they broke three records, Thinnest automatic watch, thinnest tourbillon, and thinnest combo of them. Though I gotta say, for the thinness, you sacrifice the width, which they geniously mask them as the shape of the watch being square. Manual wound watch still arguably piaget, though. The Antiplano Ultimate is 2mm thickness, which is incredible, though with some compromise such as the crown being rectangular like Cle de Cartier, which very awkward to wind. And the crystal attachment which was glued into the case rather than the usage of the usual gasket. Well, for mass production they could use the solution like the vintage watches which attach the crystal from the back of the bezel which contain the gasket, then the bezel screwed down to the case like this Antiplano. Because once you glued the crystal to the monocoque case, it'll be hard to open the watch without breaking the crystal/heating up the watch. For the design, they could make the disco volante case as well.
@@youssefhanna9208 That was comparing with Altiplano 900p. Altiplano ultimate is the thinnest mechanical watch ever existed, only 2mm, and master ultra thin squelette, 3.6mm. However, Altiplano ultimate is not in production, so that's that.
Hello sir , me from India , Mumbai , for which company I shd opt for ? Confused between brietling or grand seiko , purpose is it will be my first Luxry watch also I need such time pice that shd last for generations . Which company I shd go for . Your suggestion will really help me in final purchase , plz guide
I love the spare styling and it being so thin. Sadly though, even without magnification, there are places in the movement where the finish isn't great. Also, it's yet another expensive watch that has a balance wheel that visually, does not oscillate concentrically.
You've captured our interest, we now need to know how to afford it? Dangle it tantalisingly and the point is with low incomes can we afford these watches? Obviously not, and I checked on the current prices and I need not say they are beyond my yearly wage. Nevertheless, it's nice to see what I can't afford.
Why is there so many scratches over the jewel? See 6:05. Has it been changed? If it was like that from Piaget im not too impressed. Sure the watch is not my style so i would never put £11k on that watch.

Dial is boring as toilet paper, which if I understand correctly, is a new form of currency.
This one of my favorite watches of all time. Gave a WG version to my wife. Legible, beautiful, perfect. The boutique in NYC has always been extremely responsive. Piaget deserves big respect.
Your writing, the delivery of your words... all combined with your knowledge and the wonderful calming of your voice. Just remarkably. I forget I love watches too, lol
Thanks for making these times a little more confirtable. Today, the great heroes are doctors, doctors and scientists. Antimagnetic watches are very useful for them. If you are relying on the wristwatch your medical professional's wearing in 2020 to get you through your procedure you are in all sorts of trouble. I love watches but I categorically do not want them used for critical medical actions when better tech is available more cheaply and more frequently.
Seen it on a wrist of a Belgian politican today. He's responsible for cutting healthcare cost in his country. Expensive watch for a guy having to do that job.
4 and a half minutes of useless information until describing the actual watch. The movement is beautiful but I don't like the off centre seconds dial. Looks like those cheap Russian copies.
It took me very few of your videos to subscribe right away. As someone with an interest in mechanical devices and machines, this entire channel is an epiphany to me, and your recording style is absolute perfection. The detailed shots, the ambience, the background music (who composed it? I love it!), and your delivery style, so calm and sober, but always involving. You are so good that I'm sure that many of your viewers may actually not really have a noticeable interest in horology in the first place. Even me: I've actually almost never worn a watch, nor I can afford even the cheapest watch you feature in your videos, and yet here I am, admiring the often almost unreal complexity of these mechanical works of art, their details and the marvelous technical solutions many of them have and the craftsmanship of their creators, while listening to your stories about how these watches are conceived and built. Thanks to you, I also now understand better why some watches' prices are measured in tens of thousands of Euros. I'm so glad to have known your channel. Thanks for the hard work and keep it up!!
Aesthetically, "Swiss Made" is misaligned at the 6 marker, and the "Piaget Automatic" logo is slightly more than twice the size it should be. Apart from that, I would like to own one of these very elegant watches.
Excellent analysis of a watch brand that is sometimes seen only as a jeweler designer. The only company to “make the tools that make their movements “ as stated by watchfinder. Quite impressive for a jewelry designer
Piaget is a name one very rarely hears anymore. They were huge in the 1980’s...Piaget Polo was a must-have, but in truth their glory days are over. Think Gerald Genta, Corum, Ulysse Nardin. They have all faded in importance and collectibility.
Piaget has been my grail watch for over 40 years. I will wear no other. Piaget is a movement house, with ultra-thins its specialty, and family members still work in the firm.
A technological Marvel it may be, the dial looks like a piece of paper with indices drawn on it. The arrogance of Swiss watch making in its full glory: we make good watches, we don't care about presentation, because there are people who will pay tens thousands for snobbery served with stern face and highbrow, with hypnotic narrative in the background convincing you that it's totally worth it.
Another beautiful work of art, science and history, both from Piaget and Watchfinder. Congratulations with the 500.000 subscribers mark, very well deserved. Please continue with enriching our lives with your fantastic videos and stories. Thank you!

I'm already convinced without opening up the video, because the thumb in the thumbnail says it all.
Simple and so elegant!
In crap times, Watchfinder continues to give us joy :)
Thank you!

Great watch, great movement. Lost in the marketplace though.
Plz do a video on mb&f
Review the jacob& Co Billionaire watch
Edward Piaget was a shed boi like Jimmy Broadbent
Anyone else remember the ultra-thin Jean Lassle movements of the 70’s?
Top notch video and that watch is luscious. Whether it's £22,000 of lusciousness? Hmmm. I'm not sure.

It's too bad the second hand isn't center mounted.
Due to lack of budget all I'm interested in is watches under £100 😅

I don’t like the “Automatic” text on the dial. It could be either smaller or omitted completely.
It's a bit like car manufacturers that insisted on putting a "5-speed" or a "16 valve" badge on the boot long after it had become commonplace.
Fredrik Lundh 100% “oh you have ABS? Fancy”:)
Yep, agreed!
its so important to know looking at time :D they are plonkers
