A few things: 1. You look great (I’m actually a little surprised that you’re already back making content). Go Britt! 2. This Saxonia Thin looks perfect on your wrist IMHO. You can and absolutely should enjoy wearing it and feel you can pull it off. You can !💯 3. The watch is amazing. I can say that because I have one. It’s funny to see this video because I’m currently just finishing my own video about mine (but won’t put it out for a couple of weeks yet). Synchronicity ! Far too little is said about this amazing timepiece. It’s an unsung hero but in part, that’s also what I love about it. Great video, as ever. 🎯 Thank you 🙏
Lange & Söhne is a Watch brand for really wealthy people. Understatement paired with perfection in materials and craftsmanship. Most people don’t understand why a few people spend „a lot of“ money for something no one recognises as an expensive watch. And that’s the reason these people buy Lange, Moser &Cie, Vacheron etc
Whaaaat! thank you so much! I feel like the healing has become a bit more stagnant. -.- But you know, watching my videos I can see it's not stagnant, it's just a feeling!
Semi-related to this video, but I really hope there’s a dress watch renaissance in the near future. I totally agree that dress watches look good with casual clothes and hope more people see that.
RIGHT?! I couldn’t agree more!! And you know, dress watches don’t necessarily have to cost an arm and a leg like a Lange. Lots of very smart pieces you can get at budget friendly prices!!
I love the elegant simplicity of the dial. And with the contradiction of turning the watch over to see the decorated movement, its decorated but it’s still done with some form of restraint. Love it.
Pure class. if watches were musical instruments and the people that wear them, Lange would be a Stradivarius violin, R***x would be banging pots and pans with a wooden spoon.
Agreed with normalising prices… Lowest offers for a Saxonia I’ve seen were in a ball-park of 10-12k$ and first thought I had after absolutely drooling over this piece was “wow, that’s so affordable for a Lange!”, but then I checked my bank account and realised, that it’s literally my whole account and then some… it’s mad how watches make you think, that such prices can even be considered affordable!
I completely agree Britt. I purchased a pre-owned Richard Lange in rose gold about two months ago. I’ve been wearing it for everything except when I need more water resistance. It really has me rethinking my entire collection.
nearly back to normal Britt ! Great recovery 🎇 That watch is superb value at 15K . For me it looks great on your wrist and maybe 2mm small on your husband's wrist .
I got to try on a few of these at an AD and they gave me a loop to look at the case back. I had to force myself to stop staring. The detail is absolutely stunning.
Gosh, I don’t know what it is about this watch. The color and luster of that open dial is just insane. The movement? Forget about it. Yes it’s worth it. If a Rolex Sub is worth 20k, then this Lange is a bargain. I wish it were in my range. I would buy this in a heartbeat. For me, it’s Nomos, oh and yeah this looks perfect on your wrist. Just takes your brain a while to adjust. Wear it another day. 😎👍🏼
Bahaha, my opinion on the sizing always changes! I think because I wear small Tanks and Santos', this feels too large for me! ^_^ But yeah, I think this whole watch is just insane and wonderful!
@@BrittPearceWatches Question: you talk about price point, BUT isn’t the real issues related to how bad you want it ? I mean, might you sell other watches to cobble together the funds to make the £15K purchase ? The point I’m making is, it is doable for you. But do you really want it THAT much ?

I reckon they will always be out of my league! Agree that the "&" is where it needs to be - directly below the 12 would mess more with my OCD. HAHA! PS. Awesome to see you recovering so fast :)
It's not too big :) Also looks great with jeans and a sweater. In this age where people are dressing more and more casually, it's a nice juxtaposition (as you said) when it's matched with a classy timepiece.
Great video and great watch B 🙌🏻. Cant wait when you add one to your collection. So glad to see you recovering very well. Sending big hugs from across the pond 👋🏻
I love my Rose Gold Saxonia Thin. Its crazy how much the prices have gone up on these. I was lucky to get one back in 2019 for $12k from WOS in Sydney. And yes I wear it with jeans and a tee all the time. I get more attention with this watch with watch nerds than my panda. haha Keep up the good work!
Oh the rose gold is the ONE! 🔥🔥 biggest congrats ever on owning this!!! What a WATCH! 💕 And you know, I feel like this would get more love from watch geeks and non watch geeks alike!
After collecting probably way too many steel sports watches, I’ve been seriously considering getting in to a precious metal dress watch. Actually made it to a Lange boutique a few weeks ago and had a great time talking German watchmaking with the manager, very knowledgeable and no hard sell on the brand at all. Long story short, I fear my bank account may be in serious danger in the future.
LOL! I relate to this completely! I feel exactly the same about my collection!! I have… probably too many, wonderful steel sports watches! 😜 but I just want to round out my collection a bit more with sometjing precious and dressy!!
45 year watch enthusiast... Sometimes, I am asked by friends which watch they should acquire. I routinely reply, find the ideal watch from among the best manufacturers after conducting your own research, needs, budget and expectations. Take your time, pardon the pun! Then, discover the timepiece that really strike an emotional chord with you. Forget the price in most cases. Allow your emotions to guide you. Make your selection, and "sleep on it" for a night or two. Somehow, while sleeping your subconscious mind will worth through the issue. In the morning you will have the best answer, and the best choice. Using this simply formula assures you that will never make a choice that you will regret. If the watch is expensive, put a deposit on it and have it set aside for you. Never finance it! Make payments or simply save up. This gives you a goal to achieve, and when you have enough saved then take delivery. You may find that anticipation and excitement builds before the delivery. That's part of the fun! The bottom line is you should be careful when making a watch purchase. For many men, it is the one possession he may acquire that may last throughout his entire lifetime and beyond! For that reason, your choice should be made most carefully and deliberately! Thanks.
I started getting into this hobby about three years ago, shortly after my father passed away. I got a collection of budget watches from his collection and suddenly realized it's cool to have a wristwatch collection. It was around that time when I first saw a picture of an A. Lange & Sohne watch, and I had to look it up to find out more. It basically went like this: "Wow! That watch is gorgeous. I wonder how much it... HOOOOLY SH...." Not my lane. Probably not my highway either. Nice watches, though. Thanks for another great video.
Oh I loved this comment! 💕💕 it’s beautiful how you got into watches. You are living on your fathers legacy through these crazy little timepieces! 💕 Not my high way either. 😜 but I appreciate this highway so much!
It's true, everyone has an idea of what a reasonable price is for a watch and it's based on income and social class. There are people who think $1,000 is not only ridiculous but couldn't save for it if they tried. Others think $10K is nuts. Some would drop $100K without a single blink.
Right?! It's all so relative. I even watch my idea of what is "too much"on a watch change. I remember when my husband buying a £7,000 Rolex was INSANE to me. Absolutely foooking INSANE. And now, it feels almost normal. I'm a monster. Watches have made me into a money pit monster!
It's interesting how most of watch youtubers I follow starded with very afordable watches (Bark & Jack, Bruce Wiliams, Just one more watch, the time teller, you etc.) and then after few years all I hear from you is Rolex, Tudor, Omega, Cartie etc. So it must be something in this 4 figure price tag?!?
I know what you mean. When I first bought a luxury watch for £5,000 my wife couldn’t believe it and went on about it for months. This week she asked me in all seriousness about the availability of the new Cartier Santos skeleton in gold and blue lacquer…
I think it's watch collectors dream of getting a A. Lange and Sohne but it's out of reach for most. Beautiful Watch!. I'd opt for a Lange 1 in pink gold if I had the means, but for now I'll keep day dreaming. I feel like as we age and your income changes larger sums suddenly don't seem as crazy, though that said if I bought something like this I'd be afraid to take it out of the safe lol.

As a German who mostly owns German watches, the Saxonia Thin is literally the dream watch. Unfortunately not one that I can or even want to fulfill (I already feel weird with a 3k watch on the wrist) but I came close enough to it with my 35mm Nomos Orion. Also has a fantastic looking movement and looks wise is rather similar except it has a small second. Oh and Britt I am sorry to shatter your excuse of saying it looks to big... It looks perfect on you imo! 😍 😅 We have to keep dreaming 😌
Oh the nomos Orion is AMAZING!!! 💕💕💕 big congrats on owning this! And you got the perfect size. It’s very easy for that one to feel like a dinner plate on the wrist, but the 35mm is just * chef kiss *

Bring more a lange and sohnes review more alange and sohnes there’s something elegant about them , I lowkey love their watches especially the datograph
Lange used to provide unbelievable print catalogs on request from Germany. Unfortunately, they went digital. No longer hard copy print catalogs. Sad, because they provided museum quality photos of the watches. Still love the watches but sad to see traditional company like Lange going digital.
Britt!! Love the video and the watch. That watch is a perfect example of one that crosses into being art. With my purchasing price range, I am out when it comes to most watches made from a precious metal, but looking at this watch does let me dream a little. Dream that a stainless steel no complication model would one day be made and end up in my collection. Thanks for video and Long Live the Cult(s).
DON IS HERRRRE!!! You know, I think you are absolutely right! This is that special intersection of engineering and art. The living embodiment of less is more! ;) Hope you are having a GORGEOUS start to your week! LONG LIVE THE CULT(s)
@@BrittPearceWatches Yes i wish you luck for pull the trogger one day you will have one cause you are the best motivated Gringa in the world i love you so much. In four weeks i will be a part of Tudor Familly and that will be awsome a great thank you my Gringa its after seeing yours i pull the trigger thanks can i name it Britt? (my watch)?
Love this vid and the one of the BB54, but value and worth are tricky. I like the Saxonia Thin. Had a mate that had one, tried it, lovely watch. Honestly, I bought a GS SBGW231 a year and a half later. Love it to bits. To me, it's a prettier watch, and seems to have more character. At less than a fifth of the price. Is the movement finishing on par? Of course not. But the wearing experience is more joyful. To me, at least. So I get dress watches. I get Lange's simplest watches. I get why people think it's worth it, but I'm not in the market for one as it didn't do anything for me in the way that my GS dress watch does. The notion of value is so subjective.
I love AL&S ! They are truly high level horological pieces. I would definitely have to go second hand aka a deal :) lol. Glad you are healing up:) all the best !
Get well soon! Great review. 37 mm* is too large for a dress watch. Everything else about this watch is superb - especially the swan-neck regulator and the lack of a seconds hand. Lange is known for their asymmetrical dials - the ampersand is exactly where it should be! * I wear a 31 mm Patek no matter what I’m wearing. Dress watches like old Calatravas or Tanks go with everything.
Beautiful watch esp the movement, second hand seems like a big saving. If I was looking for a dress piece but wanted to spend less I would consider JLC master control
If you centred the "&" I don't think you could centre the entire name, unless you put the "A. Lange" on one line and "& Sohne" on another. My personal grail watch is definitely a Grand Lange (but I'd settle for an 1815 Up/Down ;).
Lange is a better watch than any Swiss watch. Take a guess who was the most famous of them all and his inner circle who wore them? A great horological history lesson!
@Watch Papi absolutely not because it's not COSC certified! At least my Orient is Emperor approved! Both the Langes and Orients are 100 % in house movements.
Lange can be compared i.m.o. with the 'big three' and as a consequence is not cheap. Don't know if they hold value. If you want to spend less money Glashütte Original or even Nomos are an alternative both very good quality. I personally love the Glashütte Panomatic but they are a bit clunky on the wrist however.
Nice to see you back Watch Gringa! And your trademark Canadian accent is sounding “better” all the time! I’m with you, Söhne watches are ridiculously priced and frankly they’re nice, but far too pricey for what you get. Unless you FEEEEEEEEEL that the name alone commands that kind of money that I don’t have. And don’t worry about dress watches with blue jeans. It’s more than acceptable. It’s stylish and proper. I approve. (I do the same with my Omega Constellation 41, which I would buy again over any $22K+ watch.)
If I had true FU money Id commission Lange to take one of the watches in their current lineup and and make it a 'reverso', switch up the case/lugs engineering so that I can flip the thing and show the mvt whenever I please. I dont care what time it is when you can look at that finishing.
If Britt wants a new posh watch she should consider forming a new Nationalist Political Party "(Name Of Province) National Party". She can then charge everything and others will pay, even legal fees.
The GS omiwatari loses against this despite its value because it tries to add as much as it can to a simple watch whereas this stays true to a dress watch. I like the decoration of the movement more, I like the lack of seconds hand and minute track, I love how little text there is on the dial.
Right?! When it comes to a dress watch, I am quite conservative. Everything else I'll splash out and have a bit of fun ;) but there's a certain simplicity and elegance I crave in a dress watch!
I feel like I look a bit knackered in this video. And I am! Still healing up, but so happy to be making videos again!

DON IS HERRRRE!!! You know, I think you are absolutely right! This is that special intersection of engineering and art. The living embodiment of less is more! ;) Hope you are having a GORGEOUS start to your week! LONG LIVE THE CULT(s)
That is a lovely looking watch!!! 😍
It's great to see how well this works on a female wrist, AL&S truly made this a masterpiece for everyone
welcome back britt
Hey Britt, can you include metric measurements on the wrist size? It's great to see you are recovering well ❤
Ooh! And I’d LOVE it if you could get the copper blue version of this one and share your thoughts!!!
Shout out to your husband for wearing sweatpants while modeling for a £23k Lange dress watch. 😄
💪🏽
great dress watch, classy stuff, there's a store near me in nyc, tempted to go in
Lange is a true haute horologie.
Good thing you didn't put it beside a rolex! Nice to see you're not a 1 brand blind follower 😂
So gorgeous! And, the watch is nice, too. 😉 If you think it's too big, keep wearing it. Your brain will shrink it down, and it will look perfect.
you will have a million subscribers soon
Hello WG Very good job i love this brand so much too. This watch suits you very well and to James too
Thank you 🙏🏼
@@watchpapi with my best watches wishes
CEDRIC IS HEREEEE!!!
More Lange coverage please!!
OUU HOOO! My pleasure! More hopefully coming soon! ;) I'd love to get an 1815 up down in! And a Lange 1
And maybe throw in a crazy Zeitwerk in the mix! 😂
I love AL&S ! They are truly high level horological pieces. I would definitely have to go second hand aka a deal :) lol. Glad you are healing up:) all the best !
Funnily, at the end when you looked at the watch on your wrist it looked perfectly sized to me too ⌚
Get well soon!
Could not agree more! Love a good and traditionally sized dress watch.
These could be had for less than 15k just a few years ago. Much more attractive at that price.
Great example of less is more. Miles outside my price point, but, you can appreciate the workmanship.
Right?! I agree with everything said here. ;)
🎯💯
Dave does great work!! 👍👍🤣🤣🤣🤣
He’s scratching out a living I guess. 😂
Beautiful watch esp the movement, second hand seems like a big saving. If I was looking for a dress piece but wanted to spend less I would consider JLC master control
Great watch 👌🏽
If you centred the "&" I don't think you could centre the entire name, unless you put the "A. Lange" on one line and "& Sohne" on another.
My personal grail watch is definitely a Grand Lange (but I'd settle for an 1815 Up/Down ;).
The Up Down is a real beauty. ❤
You’re sooo right about the name positioning! You are also so right in your taste of watches 😍 the up down is something else!
Lange is a better watch than any Swiss watch. Take a guess who was the most famous of them all and his inner circle who wore them? A great horological history lesson!
Is it as accurate as an Orient though? Now that is the question! 🧐🧐🧐
Its a nice watch to wear on a wedding😂
IT IS! Perhaps I'll have to justify it for 10th wedding anniversary or something ;)
Recently bought a VC Patrimony (rose gold and blue dial). Not the cheapest VC. But beautiful.
Oh! Nice watch, beautiful.
Do you like the saxonia copper blue aventurine dial?
What about the saxonia 35mm for U ?
I love the Saxonia 35!!!
Hi Britt, I hope you are feeling better. Do you prefer to have this Lange or some Canadian poutine (extra gravy)?
Well. It all depends. Is the gravy hot enough to melt the cheese curds just right?
@@BrittPearceWatches Don't forget the crispy bacon bits!
Get better soon!
I think, and this is only opinion:
Title should say "Cheapest A.Lange und Sohne one could buy after selling a kidney"
If Britt wants a new posh watch she should consider forming a new Nationalist Political Party "(Name Of Province) National Party". She can then charge everything and others will pay, even legal fees.
I mean! This sounds like a great plan! Bristol National Party is now formed
What is the benefit of having a manual wind watch in this age and era? It's pretty useless for me. Can anyone pls explain? Thanks.
Keeps the overall watch thinner.
@@watchpapi Ok. Anything else? Thanks.
@@ThiHaGadgets the rotor doesn’t obscure your view of the hand finished movement.
@@ThiHaGadgets winding the watch daily (assuming you wear it daily) is an enjoyable tactile experience.
@@watchpapi I have 3 automatic watches and it hurts my fingers when I wind all 3 everyday. No joke. 😅
