    Good stuff, much prefer Dynamic timing instead of using the LED. Would be more accurate to achieve 28 degrees as well.

      You're right, dynamic is usually the best way to dial it in but the static timing is a great starting point. I installed this before the bike was built/running, at some point I would like to do some dynamic timing to get it just right.

    Looks like in the video you are missing your "main drive bore end gear seal". I only noticed because mine just fell out. I don't know how crucial it is honestly.

      Interesting, I will have to look into that. Thanks for pointing it out!

    Hello if you have a voes but you want to disconnect it you need to put the switch 1 in position Off ? It s correct ? Can that help if you have a kickstart ? The bike have kick and electric start is a shovel? Thanks for your answer

      Hmmm, I am not sure. I would think it wouldn't make much difference at start, since it only advances with vacuum, but I haven't had the pleasure of working with many kick start bikes. I would reach out to dynatek with that question, their customer support has been great for any questions I had. Best of luck!

    Did you use the recommended jetting as well?

    • @cheesingarage
      @cheesingarage  Год назад

      The recommended jetting from Hammer? They usually run a larger kit so I went with something more typical for a 1200. Check my carb video for details

    Yo! I recently installed 2000i on my 87 Softail. I have it set to curve 1. Can you explain why you say curve 4 is better? Thank you and brap!

      No problem! I based this on the guys over at Hammer Performance. They are some of the leaders in performance builds for these engines and they determined through dyno runs that bringing in the advance slower is better. They have some videos here on youtube as well you should check out. Good luck with the bike!

    Any concern that your green voes LED wasn’t on when static timing? I was installing a Dyna 2000P tonight on my ‘95 sportster that I just upgraded to a 1275. The green LED wasn’t on and when trying to static time and definitely concerned me.

      I believe the VOES light is only on when the engine is producing vacuum, so it shouldn't be on when doing static timing.

    Can you get the timing like the old days by checking the push rods

    • @cheesingarage
      @cheesingarage  Год назад

      I'm not sure the method you're referring to. The push rods could tell you cam and valve positions but at TDC both valves would be closed so finding TDC is easiest and most accurate through the spark plug hole.

      This project went on hold while I moved and set up the new garage/sorted out some problems with my daily. I am actively working on it again and should have some videos up shortly
