    I’ve carried my 938 for years. Great pistol. You are right about the one piece guide rod. Got one ad it’s worth every penny. You get used to the snappiness over time.

    My wife has a non legion P238 and first day shooting (any gun) she was putting fist sized groups at 7 yards. Did great for her as a first gun. Safety? She said she wouldn't be comfortable without one-all about what you train with.

      My 1st shot with one @7yds was center bullseye.
      I put it away. I figured that was all I needed.
      for about 20mins and I to was hitting fist size groups.
      What really impressed me with the P238 was Hickok 45 hitting the gong @80yrds with one. Best pockets pistol on the market IMO. Great buy!

      I am a large man. I have played with handgun calibers from 22lr to 500 S&W. I recently came across a P238 Equinox that just called my name. Sure, bigger calibers can be more effective. But it does always come down to shot placement. I also can get fist sized groups at 7 yards with minimal effort. But I can get all six shots off significantly faster than with 9mm. People gonna make jokes about it being a girl gun, but I think I just found my new edc.

    I own and carry the p238 and p938 the legion models a beautiful well made guns but I chose the sport models in both because they come with the rubber grips with finger notches. This allows you to control the snap of these compact models mine also come with an extended mag which allows for another finger . The legions look cool but it wouldn’t be a carry option for me and the sport models can be found at a more reasonable price point so if you are considering one of these guns look into the sport model with rubber notched grips you won’t be disappointed

    • @yamahschector
      @yamahschector 11 месяцев назад

      Correct. My hands are a medium size hand and the legion does not fit well. My pinky gets some rubbing. I picked up a kimber with extended rubber grip for the pinky and it felt so much better. Save money get the rubber grip version it feels better in the hand. I own the legion and should have tried the others out better before I made the choice

    • @user-oh1wf5vx5q

    • @derrickcathey4410
      @derrickcathey4410 9 месяцев назад

      Like I said the legion is more expensive you can get the sport model much less and it has the molded rubber grips which feel better in the hand than the legion grips. Yes the legion would be fine for carry if you like the feel of the grips but personally with medium size hands I don’t care for them . Very nice gun though

      Alot of shooters will be deterred by it being single-action and having to carry with the hammer back. There’s also a generation of shooters who are only into striker-fired pistols. I think this would be an awesome BUG.

    The p238 is definitely not snappy, and is a phenomenal gun for a 1st time gun owner. Dont listen to that dude 🤣🤣. Nothing shoots smoother than this gun for its size. Me and my 60 year old mother both have one. Way smoother than a 38 special which is often recommended to fist time gun owners, and the trash s&w body guard 380 with its 50 pd trigger pull. I think this guy must not shoot micro guns.

    Kudos for the great review. I've owned a P238 SAS for years, but it's seldom my carry weapon. No particular reason except perhaps the inherently low round count. I've been tempted over the years to buy the P938, but I already have several small carry 9mm pistols, most with higher capacity, so I've been unable to justify the purchase. However, I think it's still a highly desirable and viable solution for many. P.S. I live in Washington state, which recently passed legislation limiting us to 10-round magazines! This just made lower capacity .380s and 9mms considerably more attractive.

    • @williamhughes1067
      @williamhughes1067 7 месяцев назад +1

      Update: I just purchased a P938 in response to the recent legislation in Washington State limiting carry weapon magazines to 10-rounds. Since I shoot better with hammer-fired weapons rather than striker-fired, as in the Sig P365, getting one was a no-brainer.

    I would like this in DSA, no safety, like a mini 226.

  • @joep8787
    @joep8787 6 месяцев назад

    One problem I have is that when you disengage the safety, it pinches the web of your hand between the thumb and fore finger. This is annoying, painful and startling if it happens in the gravest extreme. Perhaps it's due to the small grip size. I have the Sig p365 with a safety, and that safety doesn't pinch me. That may be the reason Sig discontinued it.

    I’m a new shooter, well I started in late Nov 2022, so about 2 months experience at the range. I tried the P938, and it feels good at shooting. Slow firing seems decent enough, but yea I feel the snappiness, but so bad in the first mag. But maybe because I need more training to build more strength, it wears me down. I feel tired and a little sore after 3 mags. First mag when I am “fresh” seems pretty good. Maybe in a real situation, the first mag is the most important anyway?
    But I’ll keep training to build up my stamina holding and firing this so I won’t get so tired. when I’m tired, it’s hard to hold it steady and shoot it accurately.
    Any good exercises I can do to build up the right core muscles here (without needing to go to the range and shoot a bunch at $0.35 per round… lol). I’m already trying to dry fire a bunch at home. But any other set of exercises I can do?

      @@ironmonkey1512 Goal is not to tire out after 3 mags, esp in back and upper arms and shoulders. Though I can shoot, i lose accuracy. I do have P229 legion, Canik Combat Exec, SW MP9 Full-size, similar story. After 3 (maybe 4 mags), I get tired in the shoulders and upperback.
