I watched about 30 RUclips videos .... this is clearly the best review. Very good hi-resolution, great range footage, close ups and info. Keep up the great work.
I got one of the first in South africa. No red dot yet, just irons. Second mag ran 3 x 10 and 2 x 9 on a precision target at 32 feet. Love this gun. My second Canik. Their own 90 degree trigger reduces the pre-travel to nearly zero and still has the brilliant clean break and reset.
@@crharper25 Excellant guns. I also have a Canik TP9 Elite combat which I am converting into a full Open class Race gun and it is beautiful. Tested it after the comp was fitted and back on target in 80 ms. Ok, I cannot shoot that fast but the video shows the gun reach that speed. 😁
@@Francoisdp82 Hi Francois. I am in Pretoria and because I like sport shooting and modify fire arms I bought both of mine from Rescomp. If you are Pretoria based they are an excellent stop. I believe the meaning of Canik's, "Prepared Superior" is their way of saying the firearm is built better than it's competition. They seem to have a good product that is currently killing it against the competition.
I bought mine Jan. 24, got a great deal, it was listed for 399 but when I went to pay the salesperson told the cashier to give me VIP so they knocked off $50. I love the gun, I've bought a straight trigger for my arthritic fingers. It comes with so much and I bought an 18 round mag and it fits great when I put Hurley mag sleeves on them.
I’ve been doing a lot of research and this is going to be my first pistol ever and obviously for conceal carry. Going to get it within the next couple of months. I can’t wait
Hey man, as someone who JUST bought this pistol and put 200 rounds through it today. Just know that the duds are out there, some (if not most) have going back into battery issues, mine included. I love it other than this massive shortcoming so I’m gonna do my own gunsmithing to make it work well, as others have. but just know if you’re not willing to do that, I would pass on the mc9 until the second gen.
I love Canik specifically because they offer more for your money, bought it like 2 months ago and already put in it 200 rns and it feels so good, No issues whatsoever.
I have one of these. Now have about 300 rounds through it. It has a Holosun 407k. I sighted mine from about 25 feet from a solid rest. 15 rounds could be covered with a 50 cent piece. The Canik Mete MC9 is extremely accurate especially with a 3.1 in barrel.
Hi just got my mine a week ago and I am really enjoying it. Took it out to the shooting range and had so much fun, really nice to handle. I would love to get the red dot for mine. I enjoyed your video, thank you.
Great review. Clear and concise with no profanity 'filler' or worthless fluff. You didn't even allow the slide to slam shut on an empty chamber like most of the other "professionals" do!
Mine had somewhat of a similar issue. On the 3rd round (first time at range) the spring overlapped itself and the gun would not lock the slide back anymore.
i run the pinky extension on the 12 and mag for carry , it's great awesome trigger recoil is pleasant not snappy at all , shot great with ball ammo and jhp Sig V Crown , i love the MC9 for every day carry it's a little heavier than some micro pistols but i think that helps with recoil , i've been waiting a long time to purchase a polymer frame compact carry gun and glad i got the MC9 , great video
I just saw that Century Arms has a CA compliant Mete today. If I do get this, I’ll get a back strap for that and get at least four 10 round magazines with extensions.
I have a MC9 with the Mecanik MO 1 red dot. It’s accurate as can be. Yes, I carry Red Dots on my CC pistol. I’m more accurate with a red dot than irons. I had to send my MC9 back to Canik for failure to return to battery and sticky mags. Took 4 weeks. They changed the guide rod spring, polished the feed ramp. It shoots great now. No failures. Mags still don’t drop free all the time though. I can live with that. I’m still putting rounds thru it to check reliability. I like it. I did change the trigger to the Freedomsmith Fat Daddy 2. Love it. Shorten the pre travel. Good video.
A lot of people recommend taking some painters tape and wrapping the mag 2-3 times then using a heat gun on the grip to allow the mag widen that mag channel
I’m probably going to purchase one soon….but as a left hander I’m a lil annoyed that the only holster it comes with is right handed….but I do plan on getting Vedder anyway
Great, thorough review. Very thoughtful and grounded. Also, none of the obligatory, unnecessary tough guy talk out of nowhere- Just gun geekery and some relevant, acquired practical wisdom. I appreciate it. Subbed + bell. Cheers, friend 🥂👍🏾🖖🏾
Did you get the optic with it for that price as well? That is a great deal I got mine for $500 and supposedly I took it to the range for the first time in a while back and there was a dude there that was canik enthusiast and said he's been trying to get his hands on one so apparently I lucked out and I'm not even joking while I was in the process of purchasing that there was two maybe three other people that came in and bought that combo setup that I got and the dude at the range was going ape shitt wondering where I got it and maybe packed up early and probably left I really didn't notice when he left but it was shortly after he noticed that I had this gun and I told him where I got it and of course he was hesitant and I know he wanted to ask but didn't and I said here I put in a Brand New Bag for him and said you want to check it out and he was like a little kid and a candy store and immediately took advantage of that and was shooting it and then kind of stopped after like 5 or 6 rounds and said that he loved it this and that and I was like dude finished the mag and then go ahead and fucking try the extended one he was happier than shit because he really wanted to fucking do like a half Magnum double Taps and all kinds of other shit but did not want to waste my ammo I guess I didn't care I had like five boxes of the ammo that they sell at the range their target ammo like $20 a box for 50 but yeah right after that I'm pretty sure he took off to try to go get one I don't really care for the optic because of the co-witness feature that I can use the dot or if I do not acquire the dot at the time of the drawer or the time I have it on Drew and on target ready to fire and my eye hasn't quite located it yet and I was told I have a problem by a real optic monster shooter that I know told me that find having a problem using Optics and getting acquired to them because I'm probably squinting or Closing one I he said you have to use both your eyes and I noticed on one of my other guns the Holo son that I can make brighter that he was absolutely correct and I can turn the brightness down now it's not ridiculous and I can find it faster and find it quicker at a lower brightness that way if I had to take a longer shot the halo song I have on full blast or brightness is going to take up a lot of shots space and sight or whatever it's called trying to hit something precisely far away shit I'm rambling on here either or you got a great deal optic or not because a lot of people upgrade the optic I use it a lot of times the co-witness through it but then using the optic lately but the main reason I keep the optical in there is to chamber the rounds I'm so used to doing that that the other day I smacked myself in the face almost going to clear a gun that I was carrying when I come into the store it to aim it down at the ground and was looking at the TV had it pointed at the corner of my wall at the floor to Rack like I usually do repetitively after I dropped the slide to make sure it's clear and I went to go Racket and swung my hand up right by my face LOL but either or that's a phenomenal price for that gun people don't understand the gun itself the performance the trigger and all and all should be two or three times what they charge but I'm not going to complain or keep right in that because they might actually read it and say hey look people are writing this or someone wrote this and all these people agreed let's hike up the prices LOL anyway that was a great deal enjoy
Got this gun in December of 23. Kept breaking the recoil spring. Centry arms sent replacements and even had me send the gun in. After the last repair 3 mags in it broke again. I sent it back and they are sending a TP9 Elite SC to my FFL any day. I loved the Mete in theory. Was ringing a 12 inch gong at 100 yards and irons consistently.
I bought the Canik Mete MC9 and it was the 1st gun i ever own and when i shot it i fell in love with it and i also have a Sig Sauer P365 bit to me the Canik is a little better
Just purchased this wanted the all tan one but the shop I went to they didn’t have that option only the all black or the two tone 2 was just couple dollars outta my price range so I got the all black I also like the mini gun that comes with the tools love it
Bought a two-tone MC9 Mete last week and after multiple failures to fire across various brands, weights, and types of ammo Canik had me send it in to them for warranty repairs. So disappointing after hearing so many great things about these pistols. Guess we’ll see how it goes once Canik checks it out.
I really like my gun and had ran 400 rounds without an issue making me wonder about peoples comments on not returning or stove problems but i just ran another 200 through it and i did have one problem the bullet nose didn't enter the barrel was right below and bound everything up a failure to feed i guess but that was the only issue i was shooting reminington 115 gn
I wish I would have had experience with a red dot on a pistol. Before I bought my MC 9 . I would have spent the extra hundred dollars and gotten the Mechanic. I put a frenzy on it and I love it. It is fast an accurate.
Same here! I didn't know they offered the optics package or I would've ordered it. Oh well.. now my eyes are bleeding looking at the different rmsc optics trying to decide.
I purchased this gun last week, and I like it. It is accurate and easy to shoot; however, after about 200 rounds of VOG 9 mm 115 grain FM J ammo, I started experiencing a failure to return to battery. Has anybody experienced this with their MC9? What type of ammo were you using? Thanks.
And another thing with my trigger it has gotten way buttery smoother I don't even know how that's possible as time goes by but I also shoot the piss out of this gun and its back and forth with my p365 for daily carry they're both very different guns but for some reason I don't know I sometimes struggle to pick one or the other that's just me I love them both so much but if I had to pick one for the value and performance it would definitely be this but one for all out concealment and accuracy add control because of the size of the gun I can actually control the slide with my thumbs actually can do on both guns but on the Sig it makes night and day difference of muzzle flop for Rise whatever and I can actually start hammering rounds pretty reasonable Groove set a good distance with a competitive shooter style grip thumb right in the slide with tension just need to learn if doing something like that where it's too much tension that where it's going to cause a malfunction because that's happened a few times with my Sig me doing that finding where too much is too much but right before that point it's almost like firing a full size gun with a suppressor or I don't know it just makes the gun 3/4 less Snappy muzzle jumpy and more accurate and just the ergonomics of itself and I also purchased for both guns Hogue grip covers just because it's getting colder out and for wet cold weather and the grips in my opinion make the gun feel also better in the hand but all in all either or both feel really good it's just the cig is a bit smaller and lighter but like yours mine came out of the box stupid accurate and they said that pretty much where I bought it.... probably only needs to be a little bit of Justin if any because they're prejudiced or pretty much on point out of the factory every one of them and that's crazy you said you've been waiting to get it maybe there are over demand or something I've had mine for at least a year now see how old this video is I thought it said 6 months and I never stood the night vision part of it you're talking about I guess if you're wearing night vision you can use the Red Dot I seen that on the Hello son. That I have something about night vision and assumed that the optic itself did that unless it does and I couldn't figure out how to do it because I know you can lock in certain brightnesses and do this and that by holding down one button or both buttons for 10 seconds or 20 seconds but all in all you this video and this review is gave me a whole new respect for the optic and I'm going to actually try to use it for more than a co-witness most of the time more round chamber handle and totally unrelated while I'm talking about the optic and stuff the plates for this if you happen to get the crazy deal of the Beretta apx carried like I did for 2:39 with a $50 mail-in rebate that has an optic slide with no plate and you don't want to pay $40 from Beretta the Canik slide I mean plate and optic fit that gun perfectly so if you ever wanted to switch back and forth or whatever but I wouldn't pick that apx carry over this guns I just wanted to Tinker with it just a fun fact just to see what a micro reflex or Red Dot would look like on that gun but yeah this is crazy like you've actually tell me a few things I already thought I knew everything about this gun and the optic and a lot of people that do reviews on it don't cover or I've never heard myself and hands down the best review again of this gun that I've seen I've even learned from this things that I did not know and I thought I've known everything about it as far as the swappable mags as far as the optic the way it reacts but the main thing was with the optic the shut-off they told me it always stays on at the gun store and I think I already said it I tested it by saying it on my dresser and it never went off but my TV was on and that probably affected that but if it's true she can wake and the gun is just sitting there and the light weather on or off does not matter then mine never did cut off but I'm going to try it in the complete dark because I know it does go completely like you said it does I was always wondering about that night vision a few of my dots in the description when I bought them and I own a couple of different companies on a couple different firearms talk about the night vision and I really don't Tinker with them that much I get them to where I want them and lock that in and if it needs to be adjusted I'll unlock it or readjust the brightness or whatever but never really new what night vision meant and I was thinking some of these 300.00 dots for that price or more some of them cost more than that would actually have a night vision somehow built into it because of the price of it but anyway now it all makes sense wow glad I actually watched this because every other review I've watched is either somebody outside somewhere shooting it comparing it to something else or somebody shooting it complaining about all the failures they're having or light hits mainly it's either of you outside of shooting it with a quick rundown of what it looks like but not inside clear view of everything that you did even with the light how easy that was to put on and take off and how it looked and just how clear the video was and a good look at the gun and then usually that's where most of the viewers that review guns like that stay they don't take it to the range and actually use it they just talked about how it's shot the technical reviewers with the trigger pull tool and all that other stuff they usually go on and on about the specs of everything how everything works the levers the switches how to break down clean all that stuff but never actually taken it out and doing a full rundown of the operation of it and again great review I need to subscribe now and go through your videos to see what else you have reviewed that I probably already own that probably will learn stuff that I didn't know because how thorough and it's pretty much like getting a brand new gun while I'm watching it even though I know I already have it but the video like this is would be like if I bought it but then you break down everything clearly indoors with beautiful camera and great review on everything from the accessories to the textures to the sizes to the trigger pull to the object and nobody has winning that much in depth about the optic let alone then say hey now we're going to the range usually the videos end right there and they don't have information about the optic and then a let alone how it performs what's the gun performs at the range and to show people that you're shooting those rounds and they're that accurate at that distance right out of the box with no adjustments to the site I wasn't using that same type of round they were a bit I don't want to say it better but you know what I mean and my Red Dot was pretty much spot on I didn't really have to adjust it because the distance I was shooting I didn't know if the dot was a little bit off or if it's because my hand might have moved just a little bit while aiming that can cause just a simple stress of holding it up or whatever the word is fatigue you're trying to hold it completely still I don't think a lot of people can do that hold their gun completely perfectly still without their hand doing some type of involuntary miniscule swaying or I don't know I can't explain it but that can mean the difference between a couple inches like that I leave it where it is because I know where I was putting it it was hitting pretty close within the answer to to where the dot was only thing I wasn't sure I was when you said you had to adjust it something came across the screen I read it and it said the gun or the optic did not do something and I'm not sure what that meant I'll have to read it again but maybe you're talking about the clicking I don't know I never adjusted mine I just mounted it on and it out of the box like they said probably doesn't need to be adjusted was their exact words it's ready to go out of the box hammer time it's probably definitely zeroed in perfect but you might need to minor tweak crazy people at the gun shop didn't know as much as you do about the gun again great job
I've shot this 2 - 3 times and it's a great gun for its size. I'm still not sure whether I should buy it, though, since I already own the Shield Plus and am almost dead-set on the CSX due to its easy-rack slide and the fact that it can also hold 12 rounds. IDK.
I had the csx sold it last year after having it for 9 months due to no aftermarket support. Got the hk vp9 fs. Then the vp9l and added the mc9 as my edc rotation. Cant go wrong either way. Based on preference
Thanks Paul and Rose. IMO. Racking the slide or should I say, engaging the slide lock can be a little difficult on this pistol. Since you mentioned that you like the easier slide rack on pistols “I appreciate that”, and recommend that you wait until you can hold one or even shoot one at your local gun store.
The CSX isn't for me. I bought one and traded it back in on a CZ. I do like the Caniks and have a dozen magazines for the TP9 based guns. The Mete guns are a great value.
Yes I believe so. A fried shoes me his TP9 SC that happens to have had what looked to me to be the same red dot optic installed. I’m pretty sure that it’s the M01. Thanks Nox!
That extended trigger take up was also intentional. Said you should be sure whenever you pull that trigger so they didn’t want a 3-4 pound trigger. This is just over 4 lbs
I had a ADE and hated it that came on the Girsan /Mc 28 sa. I since have a Canik METE SFT with an ADE NUWA with 2 moa dot and 32 moa circle that has survived probably 700 rounds to date with zero issues and works flawlessly. RMSc footprint and $100😊
The 507K and 407k ESP and ESP carry don’t have the RMSc footprint. They have a modified one of K series footprint. They have only 2 front lug holes not 4 and they are shallower than the RMSc. I needed a plate for my Hellcat pro. Great video. I don’t believe it would be a direct mount to the MC9.
Where did you get the light for the rail at?can you help a girl out…i have this gun but need to know which oolight this is…great review by the way…it is a real nice gun…i love mine❤️
It’s the OLIGHT Balder Mini. Should be easy to pick one up online. The hard part may be finding a holster to fit the pistol and the light. Keep me posted
Wow I have to add a comment that's crazy my exact same mechanic breaks way before that does it breaks it almost a perfect 45° angle and none of that play like you have before the break I wonder if this trigger is adjustable or two stage I really haven't tinkered with it that much I know that mine has a beautiful trigger pull like I said it could be compared as good if not maybe the same or better than some of my Walther guns but also heard that Walter was and I don't know if it's true involve an engineering this Trigger or it is their trigger indeed themselves or they subcontracted that part out to this company the trigger but I'll have to double-check mine again but I know from constantly using it playing with it and dry firing that mine don't go that far back and Brake that might be able to be adjusted I don't know but that's the one thing I love about my gun is it has a very short smooth throw before it hits that wall and then the brake and it's at a perfect almost 45 degree when the gun is being held perfectly horizontal you're way back that's odd
I have the Mekanic M01 mounted on my Tp9SC ,I had to use the plate it came with , but it has perfect cowitness ,and it was almost zeroed for it right out of the box , my opinion is if you own a Canik use their red dot , they look and perform very well
I have an MO1 on my Rival and MC9, and a Holosun 407K on my TP9 Elite SC. I actually prefer the 6 MOA dot with the Holosun. Much easier to pick up quickly and I like the side battery tray. It also passed Sage Dynamics torture test. I think the MO1 is great on the Rival but will probably replace the one on my MC9 with a Holosun.
@@boblaws9851this is the first I heard of this red dot. It looks great out of the box! I have the Elite SC without a red dot but have been shopping. Have you heard of the Swamp Fox? I saw it used on the Elite SC. I plan on getting the Mete MC 9 in a couple of weeks and considering a red dot. Your input is appreciated!
Get both. I have both. My first was the tp9 sc elite. Awesome pistol. Very smooth and very accurate. Depends on what you use it for. Both are great guns
Awesome video, great info. I’m the same, haven’t transitioned to red dots on my EDC but I think I’m headed that way. Going to pick this baby’s up tomorrow at academy!
Gx4 is a nice shooter. Lower bore axis if you're super into that. But i personally like the Canik better. It's a little easier to shoot, reminds me of the shield plus but a smoother trigger with zero grit whatsoever. And a better optics system from factory
I have both (why not, as cheap as they are) and the MC9 is nicer at the range when running a couple hundred rounds through them. Both are reliable and accurate. The GX4 is actually quite a bit smaller and literally disappears when in the IWB holster. The MC9 is M&P Shield Plus sized so it doesn't disappear as easily. Perhaps when I can find a good IWB holster it will be better. C'mon Vedder! Really can't go wrong with either, but if I could only have one, it would be the MC9.
@@boblaws9851I bought one from slimfit holsters. It’s okay but I’m considering trying muddy river’s offering. My complaint with the slimfit is the barrel end of the holster is open and .75-1.0 inch longer than the gun.
I have a couple mc9’s and a GX4. I don’t think they are very close as I am a gunsmith and armorer. Taurus is finally starting to catch up. Canik has been crushing it for years. For price, the GX4 TORO is lower and has the 11/13 round magazine model. But the Mete is unstoppable. Just as the video says, don’t pass one up, if you you are thinking about it.
@@MrCarCrazyI had seriously considered the Slimfit. How is it in keeping the width of the pistol? I have a Hilliker Holster for my TP9 Elite SC and it seems they could have made the profile slimmer.
This one is my favorite. MC9 recoil is better than many pistols I shoot, including the TP9 SC, Glock 43, and Sig P365. I highly recommend it. If you have issues with failures to feed have someone polish the feed ramp.
Great video. I just bought a two tone MC9 yesterday. I am very excited to give it a shot (pun intended). I plan to make a video of my own too. Thanks for a great video.
Mechanic is mekanik in Turkish so im pretty sure they want to use a name which reminds mechanic in both languages. Turkish one is quite obvious but i must say English one isn't that much especially if you read it as me-canik lol
Mine sucks. Ran the first two hundred rounds through it and probably had 30 malfunctions. Mostly failure to feed but also several failure to go into battery. Also shot way high. My first Canik. Will also be my last. Oh, and neither magazine drops freely. Way to go Canik.
Picked mine up yesterday with the Canik red dot and had it zeroed in a couple minutes. Was really impressed with its accuracy on ball reloads. A pleasure to shoot. I also had my Keltec PF9 that I wanted to try with a new trigger and was shocked as it hit like a sledge hammer in comparison to the Canik.
Damn it watching the video and I just seen where you put the mag in that space you said might bother people you can buy a adapter piece like five bucks on eBay people 3D print that goes right on that makes it no Gap or no space behind the mag like that but it's fine to me I just happened to see those that's it no more comments LOL
The dot disappears when no light available? Who the hell has NODS in the middle of the night, in your underwear, when the crackhead breaks in? I'm ready to go the dot sight way, and really interested in this offering with the dot sight included, but now thinking otherwise... 🤔
Hold on you said you can't adjust your Dot they told me the dot auto adjust you cannot turn it up and down and it does not turn off at all no shaking wake it just stays on and I know for a fact the one I have is made by that same company because I looked it up I put it on my dresser across from my bed where I could see the Red Dot to see if I just laid it there if it would eventually shut off and it did not I kept looking over every 10 15 20 minutes eventually 3-4 hours go by and I wake up in the middle of the night and it's still on and it's weird when it's really dark in the room you would think it would get bright but it almost is to the point to where you cannot see it at all I don't know maybe that's how they're supposed to work but I would think in a dark situation that would eliminate brighter for you to see then mine does but then again it also illuminates bright when I turn the light on to a decent brightness but not like any other competitors at that price I could actually even go to say that I would not pay more than $30 for that optic if I were to even buy one if it didn't come with it I just don't care for it however since its co-witness it's on there because I use it to rack the slide to chamber rounds because my other guns are all pretty much RMR or doctor cut optic mounted that cost less than this and do way more and they are shaking awake but I've had this gun a long time now and the battery and Dot still are the same as the day one anyway I'm going to have to do some research on that maybe there's a button or something on there that I missed that you can switch it from automatic to shake and wake to always on I don't know but they told me at the gun shop when I asked how to adjust it and all that other stuff they said that you can change the zero and all that but as far as brightness you can't and it turning off you can't but I did notice in a pitch black room it does go almost so dim that it's pretty much barely visible so maybe it's because I have my TV on actually that's probably definitely why shit I'm going to try again tonight with the TV off when I go to bed to see if it does cut off I didn't even think of that because it's light activated maybe that's why it never shut off wow
The MO1 has issues. Common to lose all functionality and need to send for replacement. At least you’re able to cowitness with the irons, and Canik is good about customer service, but it’s not a good look for the red dot itself.
Just got one in FDE non red dot off the truck in my store this week. Needless to say, it didn't make it to the display case lol. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but just from dry firing it, I have a feeling that it may well replace my Glock 48 for edc. And I really love my Glock.
I watched about 30 RUclips videos .... this is clearly the best review. Very good hi-resolution, great range footage, close ups and info. Keep up the great work.
The best review of the MC9 I have seen on YT. Thank you.
You're the first one that do a red dot zero and then have a great result.
Thanks for shearing.
This is a well done video. Thank you for the detailed review. I have watched many videos on the Canik Mete 9 and this is my option of purchase.
Best review I have seen thus far. I am sold.
Also from sa, i want to get one of this so badly
Yep...I grabbed the Rival first....& just ordered the Mete in Bronze. Can't wait to get my hands on it. They shoot so smooth/accurate.

Same here. I have the out of battery issue and my spring overlapped itself on the third round.
Perfect take up for a carry gun and nice short crisp reset. Couldn't ask for more in a factory setup
Caniks are Awsome! Got already three and willing to buy an Mc9

7:18 it’s amazing how comfortable that 12 rnder is in the gun.
Hi just got my mine a week ago and I am really enjoying it. Took it out to the shooting range and had so much fun, really nice to handle. I would love to get the red dot for mine. I enjoyed your video, thank you.
This is a great gun. Perfect size and great trigger.
💯% Keith! It’s a good one
Great review. Clear and concise with no profanity 'filler' or worthless fluff. You didn't even allow the slide to slam shut on an empty chamber like most of the other "professionals" do!
Literally only an issue in a small amount of firearms. Mostly just collector pieces. Modern firearms are literally made to take abuse.
I love Canik TP9SF and the MC9 Mete, own both of them.
I really enjoy my MC9.
Damn this is probably one of the best reviews of this gun I've ever seen great job
Excellent review great job on the video. I just can’t seem to find that gun anywhere. I’m glad they’re building a factory in the United States.
Thanks Nick! Happy hunting and come back and visit to let me know how you like your MC9
try academy sports....got one today and they had a few 399.00
This is the second review I've watched this morning on this gun where the slide did not lock back after last shot.
Good video.
Thanks Doug! Oh wow you has a lot going on with yours. I’m glad that Canik took care of ya. Keep us posted.
A lot of people recommend taking some painters tape and wrapping the mag 2-3 times then using a heat gun on the grip to allow the mag widen that mag channel
I did the tape thing, it started sticking after wearing it iwb a couple days. Works mint. You don’t have to get it very hot at all
It looks super nice! I wish I could have one in NY.
I use 124 or 147 grain in my Elite SC and MC9. Smoother shoot.

Just purchased this one, got a great deal at $399.00
Did you get the optic with it for that price as well?
$399 with the red dot?????
@@elgarin1235with the Red dot I believe it’s around 450$ I live in NM and mine was 500$ even with the red dot
Are they still having battery issues. Spring replacement
I literally just the Same gun with red dot included I got mine about week ago at Academy for a really good deal at a price of $ 399.99
Got this gun in December of 23.
My first gun ever was the Canik SFx Rival, love it. The MC9 is my next buy for concealed carry
Mc9 is a little tiny bit top heavy. It is well balanced and shoots well
It conceals better with 12 rnd mag
Great review! I’m getting one maybe tomorrow:) Thanks 🙏
I bought the Canik Mete MC9 and it was the 1st gun i ever own and when i shot it i fell in love with it and i also have a Sig Sauer P365 bit to me the Canik is a little better
I love my MC9, but the left slide release doesn't catch without a magazine. The right side is fine, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Just purchased this wanted the all tan one but the shop I went to they didn’t have that option only the all black or the two tone 2 was just couple dollars outta my price range so I got the all black I also like the mini gun that comes with the tools love it
I love my MC9. I put the SIG Romeo 0 on mine has been running really well. My first Canik and my first red dot sight.
I bought mine last week
I’m sure that your red dot will do fine Ken. Just make sure your torques it down to spec (11-13 inch pounds) w blue lock tight and enjoy!
Thanks.
Your dead on the take up is long but a bit of training I don't think twice. The reset is awesome and the gun itself is amazing.
Yep. Thanks Kev
Nice piece
Excellent review on a pistola Im interested in. Good shooting & good info. You got a new subscriber.👍
The shield plus with the new 15 round mags, is the GOLD STANDARD.
The CSX isn't for me. I bought one and traded it back in on a CZ. I do like the Caniks and have a dozen magazines for the TP9 based guns. The Mete guns are a great value.
@bradhuskers I found it to have an unacceptable slide release
Nice vid. I roll with the pinky extension. No problems so far with mine. I haven't tried it but this mo1 can be installed on my TP9 SC same as yours?
Yes I believe so. A fried shoes me his TP9 SC that happens to have had what looked to me to be the same red dot optic installed. I’m pretty sure that it’s the M01. Thanks Nox!
I just picked up that exact same model yesterday without the red. Dot seems like a really great gun and you just confirmed it.
That extended trigger take up was also intentional. Said you should be sure whenever you pull that trigger so they didn’t want a 3-4 pound trigger. This is just over 4 lbs
I had a ADE and hated it that came on the Girsan
/Mc 28 sa.
Any links on how to install and test the red dot? I’m new to that and want to make sure I’m doing it correctly
I love my MC9 but need more holster options
After much debate, I went with muddy river tactical. Should be here this week.
"Clint Eastwood millennial generation voice" intro on point
I have the Mekanic M01 mounted on my Tp9SC ,I had to use the plate it came with , but it has perfect cowitness ,and it was almost zeroed for it right out of the box , my opinion is if you own a Canik use their red dot , they look and perform very well
Thanks Chuck! That’s good feedback. As I said in the video, the M01 did well. Now I didn’t torture test it, and what not! 👍
My Elite SC came with the Shield SMS2 installed, and I really like it except for the polymer lens. Polymer lenses suck on red dots…
@@Guns_and_Outdoors_ChannelI’m surprised you said you don’t use a red dot on your carry pistols. Why not? When do you use them?
@@boblaws9851this is the first I heard of this red dot. It looks great out of the box! I have the Elite SC without a red dot but have been shopping. Have you heard of the Swamp Fox? I saw it used on the Elite SC. I plan on getting the Mete MC 9 in a couple of weeks and considering a red dot. Your input is appreciated!
So do I want this gun or the Canik tp9 elite sc for my first handgun?
MECANIK = I CANIK or ME CANIK MECHANIC ❤❤❤❤❤ possibly my next EDC complete thanks for the info video
Yes sir!
Is it heavy to carry?
I didn’t know they have some that come w the mecanik M01 red dot. Mine did not come w it. What did you pay for it?
Hearing these round numbers people say with minimal wear is insane... makes me not wanna go near the used counter 😂
I just want to see how the MC9 compares to the GX4
So does that optic turn on in the holster while your carrying it? I've wondered that about shake awake ones
Yes, it will be on as you are moving. But, the battery life on most modern optics is several years, so you'll be fine.
Does the red dot, MeCanik M01, come with a glass or plastic lens?
Probably
@@seanatkins8938true statement… it has to have one or the other, doesn’t it?! 😣
@@georgebender7519 I think I replied to the wrong comment....sorry
This one is my favorite. MC9 recoil is better than many pistols I shoot, including the TP9 SC, Glock 43, and Sig P365. I highly recommend it. If you have issues with failures to feed have someone polish the feed ramp.
Remember this gun is sprung for hotter eastern euro 9mm ammo, lighter us ammo may require different Springs!
and debur the plastic where the slide rides...I've seen...but best is to just use 124gr bullets
We have been building Canik holsters exclusively since 2017 . Been waiting for this mc9 size since 2014 😂. We enjoy shooting our shop tools for sure.
Got mine for $549. And love it.
Nice!
I got mine for $ 350
Any issues or anything?
Put 300 rounds through it, the only issue is that the mags drop freely.
Don't drop freely.
Here in Central Ky it is 424 out the door without red dot. I want it. Thx
Great video. I just bought a two tone MC9 yesterday. I am very excited to give it a shot (pun intended). I plan to make a video of my own too. Thanks for a great video.
Nice shooting
Thanks Wiz!
Great Vid
Mechanic is mekanik in Turkish so im pretty sure they want to use a name which reminds mechanic in both languages. Turkish one is quite obvious but i must say English one isn't that much especially if you read it as me-canik lol
I'm waiting for them 2make a 10 mm or a .45.
Now you’ve talking my brother! That w be great!
Mine sucks. Ran the first two hundred rounds through it and probably had 30 malfunctions. Mostly failure to feed but also several failure to go into battery. Also shot way high. My first Canik. Will also be my last. Oh, and neither magazine drops freely. Way to go Canik.
It's out of stock everywhere . Can't seem to get my hand on one. smh
RD, Call Blackstone in Charlotte and pick one up. They can do the transfer fee to your LGS. They had them as of yesterday. Good luck
Gun shows
have them
Classic firearms have them in stock just bought one today
Budsgunshop have them
Picked mine up yesterday with the Canik red dot and had it zeroed in a couple minutes. Was really impressed with its accuracy on ball reloads. A pleasure to shoot. I also had my Keltec PF9 that I wanted to try with a new trigger and was shocked as it hit like a sledge hammer in comparison to the Canik.
What the difference between this new one and the TP9 Elite SC?
Elite SC is bigger. Closer to glock 19 in size. The MC9 is closer in size to a Sig 365
All the reviews are very good but try to but a CANIK METE MC9 and nobody has one so find another Pistol to review. I will just have to wait.
Looks awesome but I went with the Glock 26 gen 5 lol 😅I got for reliability
Nothing wrong with that my brother
I have both.
Need CUDA Optical review
Will do. I am working on that
I didn’t get the cover
Strong very nice
Gx4 has a recall not drop safe look up your serial number and see if it's part of the recall.
Thanks for the heads up Chris
The MO1 has issues. Common to lose all functionality and need to send for replacement. At least you’re able to cowitness with the irons, and Canik is good about customer service, but it’s not a good look for the red dot itself.
LOVE MNE very nice job they did
Just got one in FDE non red dot off the truck in my store this week. Needless to say, it didn't make it to the display case lol. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but just from dry firing it, I have a feeling that it may well replace my Glock 48 for edc. And I really love my Glock.
Yep. I’m not surprised Just. Do you have more coming in or is it hit and miss with orders vs. what they ship to you?
115 o 124 gr?
115gr on the box of practise stuff.
I have one, best pistol ive ever had. Canik does not miss
