    Louie Simmons is widely regarded as the 'Strength Coaches, Strength Coach' and is the founder of the world-renowned gym called Westside Barbell in Columbus, Ohio.
    Westside Barbell is an invitation-only training laboratory where only the strongest of mind and body survive. Our goal is simple: “To become the best and push every boundary known to man in doing so.”
    This gym has produced more world records in powerlifting than any other in the World, and Louie has been regarded as one of the main reasons that the conjugate style of training has been popularized in today's training methods.
    Outside of powerlifting, Louie is a strength consultant for many NFL, NBA, MBA teams, along with having trained gold medal sprinters, pro boxers, UFC fighters, and many more athletes out of his gym via the conjugate method of strength training.

    Louie has an incredible memory. If he says this is how and what they did 30 years ago - believe it. Here we have sled pulls and power cleans as things to do for strength - and don't use straps on the deadlift. So we have truth Louie style!

  • @Irefuselol

    People have no idea how effective sleds are. No other exercise has given me the noticeable gains sleds have. My gym has a fantastic sled area and hardly anyone uses it. Your knees will become like steel, your quads will fill with blood like you’ve never felt before and the next day you’ll feel fantastic with zero soreness.

      how did you program the snatch grip deadlift and powercleans

    • @CeroAshura
      @CeroAshura 3 года назад +2

      @@solcoster8110 I did a 4 week system with linear programming. Starting with 1 set by 10 in conventional, followed by 3 sets in snatch grip by 6 with the same weight. The RPE for the conventional set was 4 ish during the first time around.
      Taper down to 1x8 and 3x5, then 1x5 and 3x3 down to 1x3 and 3x1. Keep the conventional set to RPE 7-8 as you taper. Never over that much. The snatch grip will increase your ROM and make your levers inefficient. It will develop your power from the ground and your lockouts.
      After week 4 go back to the first week and up the weights by 5-10 kg depending on the RPE of the last heavy single in snatch grip, if it's anything below 8 go for 10kg, otherwise just up by 5 kg.
      For the powercleans it will come down to how experienced you are with them. As I had to learn it first i spent some days just working on technique. Afterwards it was once a week building to a max lift followed by 10 singles at 70-80% of that days maximum. this is good working weight which will allow you to develop the technique and still make progress in the lift.
      You can also introduce a 5th week per mesocycle in which you attempt a PR not doing so will develop you faster as you won't have to deload too often. Once you end your last meso use one week to peak, maybe do 3x2 at 92.5% of your previous max , rest up and add 1 plate to your deadlift 🤞🤞🤞
