I've had this debilitating ringing for over 30 years. I've played in rock bands all my life. Thank goodness for in ear monitors now days. I tried this and though its not completely gone, its brought it down from 10 to about a 6, in minutes. I can't believe it. I don't care if its a placebo or for real. Thank you so so much Dr Mandell. I'll keep doing this. Seriously I have shed tears from the relief you've given to me in just minutes. And its free. You need to be given a Nobel Prize, or something.

The reason this trick works... It has to do with the method that your brain and your ears use to communicate sound. One of the main causes of tinnitus is that your ears are trying to hear a frequency that is missing. Due to: old age, or damage to your hearing ... So you brain turns up the volume trying to hear this frequency. This is similar to the issue that happens when turning up the sound for a mic and getting feedback because the mic is feeding the sound to the speakers which feed the sound to the mic which causes the squealing.
When we cover our ears and do the thumping, our fingers are striking the bone connected our ears. This thumping basically directs the sound directly into bones, where I brain can hear it clearly. Because it is loud and clear, our brain turns down the volume. With the volume turned down, the feedback lessens or sometimes disappears.
An example of our brain turning down the volume is when we go to a loud concert. After the loud music has stopped, everything is quiet and hard to hear. We have to wait for our brain to realize that the loudness is gone, where it returns the volume to normal.
That is why ear specialists recommend hearing aids for those who suffer from tinnitus. This is because the volume is louder, so the brain reduces its volume, that either eliminates or reduces the tinnitus...
    Stan...

But what happens in the brain Stan when the tinnitus is in one ear and the hearing from you this ear is excellent?

    • @GeekTranslation
      @GeekTranslation 2 года назад +2

@@ailouros10 ideally you would only thump on the side that has the issue. However if you thump on both sides the benefit would still be the same. The good ear would be hearing in the same range as the ear with tinnitus. You would not be causing damage because the vibration is not enough too. As for hearing aids... it would be recommended to only wear in the ear effected. Again if you wore aids in both ears it would not be ear damaging to the good ear. Hearing loss outside of genetics is usually caused from trauma. Loud concerts, explosions, shooting firearms without some type of protection will damage your ears. For me I was in a car crash and you can tell what frequency the crash was at because it is where my tinnitus exists at. Hope this answers your question.

I realized how much time I wasted doing dumb stuff, after I lost my daughter and my legs in a car accident. I began watching your and other people's inspirational videos which inspired me to create my own videos. It was difficult because I had to fight with the mental and physical pain. My wife left me, and all I could think of was how I could make up for all the time I wasted. Fortunately I am able to type and speak with my left hand, so it is not impossible to communicate without revealing my awful face. I 'll attempt to inspire as many folks as possible, but I do not have many viewers.

I must've had tinnitus for about 20 years. After listening to your video I repeated the video again and followed the instructions you gave. From 1 to 10, 10 being worse, my tinnitus went from about a six to a one almost immediately! Thank you for the instructions well given! I am totally blind and the instructions you gave were good enough for a blind person to follow without using my vision! Once again, thank you very much!

A cordial greeting. Do you know that my girlfriend María José Ramírez and I listened to subliminal audios to change some physical aspects of the body. In fact, many people do it today for different reasons. Normally, the authors ask for a maximum of 6 months for an hour a day to have the results. desired. One day my girlfriend and I woke up at dawn around 4 in the morning with a ringing in our ears.
We immediately search for information on the Internet and are scared by negative comments about tinnitus. Do you think we get tinnitus just from listening for a long time with headphones at a volume of 60, etc.? Or do you think that subliminal audio causes more damage due to frequencies between 10k to 20,000k hz etc. that damage the inner ear and the eardrum even if they are not heard? many people who have tinnitus do not mention it because of shame, etc. The problem is that many pseudo professionals who make subliminal audios play many frequencies at high volume to cover up the messages and simply using headphones daily for more than 6 months is a punishment for the ears. Bimodal and cochlear stimulation, can we cure ourselves?
      Our hearing is normal
although we have hearing sensitivity and acoustic trauma
      please I await your response
      Thank you very much 😥😢😭

Hello! Please answer me, I'm seeking for an answer for a long time for tinnitus. I have these symptoms and PLEASE help me out just by taking a minute reading what is happening with me.
I have right ear hear loss and tinnitus (constant sound for a few months or even more). My right side Jaw muscle is a little bit bigger. In my mouth, where i can reach the back of the mouth with my tongue, right side is like "bigger" (Or swollen i should say) compared to the left side. Also often i have harder time breathing through the right nostril compared to the left one. Left one is good for most of the time. I feel like there's something with my face/head on the right side. Like there's something inflammated (is it the right for being bigger in size?) in there. And left side is alright, totally fine. But not the right side. Also Neck muscles are different in size and tensity when you put out your jaw infront and tighten the muscles.
Do you have any ideas what is happening with it?
My Ear, nose and throat doctors like half a year ago didn't find anything and said - live with that for the rest of the life. Then i went to the private one, but he also found nothing special. But it's weird that i can breath with unease through the right nostril. I have this feeling of somebody touching inside my mouth in the back, maybe where the nose cavity begins and connects with the throat, not sure.

    • @gedas7058
      @gedas7058 7 лет назад +2

Also want to make a point - when i blow my nose while holding it with my fingers and blocking from air blowing out of it, my right ear don't fully pop out. It feels like there's a little bit less space for ear drum to move freely because the sound itself of popping and feeling is different than the left side of eardrum. It feels like when it comes close to popping, it stops and then is stuck in that position so I have to move my jaw, put my finger in ear to push it back to it's normal position. When i try to pop it by blowing nose, left ear pops and doesn't feel awkward or weird. But the right side does.

Gedas -- Look, I am not a medical professional. Just sounds to me like it could be a misalignment of the spine. Just a thought. But if it is a misalignment of the spine, I would think a really good chiropractor could help. Chiropractors are not usually very expensive. I fell 2015 and broke my leg in four places so I’m still not able to get out much. But when the ringing started I thought I was done in. Dear Dr Mandell!
I have to thank you million times for this because after some training in daily routine it removed my permanent tinitus that i had for 25 years!!
Nothing has ever helped even to reduce this high frequency noise wich was left side stronger than right side.
So after carnival here in cologen germany i was totally tired and done because i live at the spot were you have the most intense carnival celebrations after Rio.
So tired and this damned tinitus was louder than usual.. actually i paid more attention to it and it annoyed me totally because i wanted to sleep and was tired.
So this was really bad.. i couldn really sleep or after 2-3 hours .. i hatet the tinitus more than usual.
next night same same.. but this time i thought "F.U. Tinitus ill just concentrate on dreaming and sleeping".
i was really concentrating on the color patterns and stuff you see when the eys are closed. the more i was beeing asleep, the patterns were clear pictures and the transitioned into actual dreaming.
Bammm this time lucid dreaming for one of the first times could control most stuff was flying around with hookers.. and more stuff ;) .. but still 3 hours sleep online..
All the time i tried your method here but no change.. since you had a woman in a video that was able to remove her life long TInituts i was better than not trying.
.. allright this night nice dreaming , fast sleep because concentrating on dreaming, and cursing my tinitus and sweared "ill destroy you in my dreams".. well i also recognized that i never ever had a tinitus in my daily dreams.. ok so i was able to live without a noise..
totally tired and with a wrecked stomach from some shitty salad i got up in the night
.. did this neck technique.. .."mehh no still same noise, same volume, same left side stronger"..... ;(-... so i went in the kitchen because had sick thurst.
Some funky multi vitamin juice in a glas and because i wanted have a bit more from its taste and not flush it down..
..i slureped on the glas.. well put a full glas to your lips that you make like a duckface . when the juice touches the lips ill inhale as strong as i can so it sprays the juice with a crazy noise noise inside and the juice is just a sip and full taste..
well ok.. why do i write about such a crap?... when i was lying in bed.. it was silent.. well much much more silent und the louder left was not louder anymore.. actually nearly silence..
    TL/TR:
    -This Technique first as described
-After that get a full glas of water and try to slury it intensly so that it makes a noise like noise..It worked for me like a noisecanceling sound
.... this together combined completely neutralizes a high frequenzy sound for me.... after 25 Years its unimaginable to put the finger in the ears and then you here nothing and silence..
...SO THANKS a MILLION TIMES for your videos!!!!!! it helped me after 25 years..
Also your Nasal Septum Mobilization Video is like a cheatcode for me.. it instantly opens the nose inside... amaaaaazing!!
So keep up your great work and you helped me insanly!!!!
    Best regards, daniel ;)

I've had my hearing checked many times. I've had the test where it it sounds like they are tapping in your ear on each side too. From what I already thought, it was from seeing bands when I was young (over 25 years ago). I was in my car last week and played music too loud and it's been worse since. I've taken supplements too. Nothing has worked. I've been listening to tons on vids on youtube, but I will for sure continue to do this. If I KNEW something would cure it 100%, I'd pay thousands. Thanks.

I've had ringing in my ears for years. The right ear is much worse and I have learned to ignore it for the most part though night is worse so I run a fan for the white noise. However, this morning my right ear was rining like crazy. So loud that it was hard to concentrate while I was trying to watch TV. I found Dr Mandell on RUclips, tried his technique to minimize the ringing and it worked! Thank you Dr. Mandell! I plan to practice this exercise on a daily basis.

My T is almost gone. I was way past the 3 months mark, so I was getting desperate and really depressed about not being able to hear silence again. And then, one night, it was gone 99%. I walked around the house to make sure it was not a dream:) In the morning it came back, but much quieter than it had been. It has stayed quiet ever since, with occassional louder beeps, and seems to continue to fade away. I'm posting it here, because it happened about two days after I applied this technique, but I'd like to clarify: I also take meds and use other techniques. Don't lose your heart: TINNITUS CAN GO AWAY.

I have tears in my eyes right now after doing this. My left ear has been ringing since a little over a year ago (since a motorcycle wreck on August 5th, 2017) because of Traumatic Brain Injury, temporal lobe fracture, inner ear concussion, etc. (I may not be using the correct terms). My ear is still ringing, of course, but this just gave me a little bit of relief, amd i'll be doing it several times a day from now on. Thank you SO much. Lacey

Hi ,i am a guitar player been at it for over 40 years, and strangley enough after all that time time workin with loud rock ,i still had good ears till 4 years ago. Most rock players will know all the big noisy backline is behind you and in a way you dont get the full volume, only the audience. My tinnitus started after a PA head level speaker came on suddenly next to my ear as i walked past-simple as that. Seemed ok,but a week later the noise inmy ear started high pitched whistling /hissing. I quickly realised it was 24/7 and after researching it seemed there is no known real cure, although i think its ongoing and new ideas are coming out al the time. This Video i found very helpful, and will offer some relief. i have tried it,and it works for me,when its very bad, seems to take the intensity of the sound off ,makin it much less stressful. thanks for sharing !

Does anyone else here feel the ringing inside the head, rather than a ringing in the ears or 'heard' ? I sense the ringing inside my head, towards the back from the base of my skull to the top and ear to ear... so this technique looks promising in terms of locality. It feels like I'm listening to the electrical activity going on in my brain. I notice it most when I have a peaceful moment to enjoy or when trying to clear my head or get thoughts in order. So yes... do others experience less of a 'heard' noise through the ears... and more of an internal sensation in the brain?

I tried this with no immediate results but I'm gonna give it a few days. When the ringing has me so on edge, I turn on a fan (like the stove vent, bathroom vent, ie, a noisy fan). Then it changes from screaming/ringing to a Jimmy Hendrix/Black Sabbath jam session. Rather pleasant if you enjoy their music, lol! Not kidding. If nothing else, it will increase my finger strength & really helps those sagging arm muscles above the elbow. No matter what, there is a benefit. Whatever the results, thanks Doc for giving your time and effort to help us out :)

I noticed the same reaction as you do, Mark P, Your description is just the way I describe it.
That static sound has been with me all my adult life. I liken it to the sound of blood coursing through and near my aural nerves. I am not a doctor, but this is my analysis. However, I do not believe it affects your ability to hear sounds. At least it doesn't" bother me. At age 89, I have pretty good hearing with some degradation of hearing high pitched sounds in my left ear. I always tried to avoid very loud sounds during my lifetime. I do not wear any hearing aids. Most of our youth and young adults have been listening to very loud music. They do not realize that they are overusing their aural nerves, and will probably become hard of hearing in their advanced years. I hope you will find my response to your liking.

      Ethan Michiels
I have this very bad. My wife and step daughter say things to me that don't make sense. When I repeat what I thought they said they laugh and tell me that wasn't even close to what they said. A lot of words sound the same, some certain pitch noises I cannot even hear, they complain that the television is way too loud, etc.... I can hear people talking, I just can't make out what they say, and I'm only 2-3 feet away. It's embarrassing. When I was young, I listened to music through head phones up loud. Engines and machinery were loud. Driving the tractor a lot, mowing the grass, weed eaters, working on cars, shooting guns(hunting), and doing other things at the ranch, I never thought about wearing ear protection. In the Air Force I worked on the B-52 bomber. There again, jet engine noise. We were issued ear muffs, but I was young (about 20) and stupid and didn't always wear them because I didn't think the noise was that loud, or it was only kinda loud for a short period of time. It ALL damages ! Later on in life, I was a range officer at a gun range where I was around pistols, rifles and shotguns. Sometimes I got caught without my hearing protection. By the time I got on a task force in Dallas, Texas and wore hearing protection at the range, it was too late. The damage had been done. I didn't realize it until later as the ringing/hearing got worse. I regret it everyday. I can't stress it enough to people. PLEASE, PLEASE, wear ear protection whenever you are working around ANY kind of noise ! It ALL does some damage of some sort. Take care of your hearing now, so you can enjoy family, friends and loved ones later in life. Besides, hearing aids are expensive as hell.

I don't know how many people have tried sinus medicines if you have Meniere's disease and tinnitus both at the same time. But I have both and I can tell you that I just tried after decades dealing with this over-the-counter sinus medicines and within the first 12 hours after taking the medicine the extreme Meniere's attack was subsiding and a tinnitus was manageable but did not go away. I couldn't hear anything for the first four days and minimally with my hearing aids. It may not work for everybody but it's certainly worth for me. Take the entire sinus packet until it's gone. And keep some on hand. If you do not have Meniere's disease and only tinnitus I cannot be an authority on that aspect of what sinus medications will do but I can't tell you my positive and good experience

+motivationaldoc is tinitus the one you hear like the one in movies when they get hit by a grenade and they hear like a tttttttttttttttttttttt sound?

    • @motivationaldoc
      @motivationaldoc  8 лет назад

That is a primary cause. Tinnitis is any kind of high pitch or ringing sound you hear.

Yes, like a firecracker that goes off too close to you. That is a good way to describe it, often ANY loud popping sound will cause that sound in the ears of people who do not have the condition and this gives you a way to understand the issue. Now, what you need to know is there are a RANGE of sounds from high to low... People even experience a shhhushing sound that is constant, a bit like the needle of a record player sound after the song is over. There are an array of sounds people experience.

I took to RUclips and found this video and tried it... at first nothing napped because I was doing it wrong.. but when I tried it agian it sounded almost like a heart beat or a Gallup from houses, when I stopped due to my fingers fatigue the HIGH PITCH NOISE was GONE!!! but I am still deaf feeling in my right ear is still there, feels like when you place ear buds in your ears when you go shooting or work with heavy machines. but thank you showing this technique. Helped me. My tinnitus has diminished since I've been using this technique. It seems to increase when I'm under stress, though.

I gave it a try, but only did the tapping for a few seconds. Oddly, the ringing was dimmed just by that. Neat.

Thank you!! I hope this will help as I may have TMJ (I don't know just yet). But, last year I had severe bilateral BPPV that took 5 weeks of physical therapy with 3 Epley maneuvers everyday!! I developed anxiety from the frightening BPPV. So, some of the tinnitus could be from anxiety and the rest from possible TMJ!! I will try this in the mean time!!
