  • This video will teach you the Korean Alphabet Hangul. You will learn the first 19 Korean consonants.
    You will also learn the difference between similar Korean consonants.
    I sorted the consonants in a specific way that will help you to learn the Korean Alphabet faster.
    In this video, I also show my Korean handwriting to teach you how to write the Korean consonants on paper. You can write them together with me. Get a pen and a piece of paper.
    To learn all letters in the Korean Alphabet watch this playlist: • Korean Alphabet & Grammar
    About the Korean language and Hangul:
    Korean is an alphabet-based language. Hangul is the name for the Korean Alphabet, where ‘Han’ is ‘Korean’ and ‘gul’ is ‘letter’. Hangul was invented by a Korean king (Sejong the Great) together with a group of scholars in 1443 (578 years ago). Before 1443 year Koreans used Chinese characters. To learn these characters takes time. For this reason, not so many people could write and read. They were uneducated. King Sejong understood that to develop the Kingdom there must be as many educated people as possible. So, he decided to invent the Korean alphabet that anyone, including the poor, could learn.
    - Don't forget to hit the notification bell🔔 if you don't want to miss the next lesson.
    * Homework *
    Get a piece of paper and a pen, practice writing Korean Consonants. Follow the stroke order. It's important.
    Try to teach the alphabet to your friends or kids. We learn better when we teach others.

      Do you know the Arabic language? I know that some foreigners find the Arabic language difficult because it is a little difficult, but if you get used to it, you will master it.✨

      I started learn korean today. I don't really know from where to start. It seems difficult and the pronunciation isn't easy. Do you have a tip to learn the pronunciations better?

    • @KOREANFULLCOURSE
      @KOREANFULLCOURSE  2 года назад +3

      Oh, no. Unfortunately I don't, but I used to learn it like 7 years ago(?) ㅎㅎ It was so long ago so that I don't even remember.
      Yes, I think Arabic grammar is a bit difficult comparing to other languages :)

    • @KOREANFULLCOURSE
      @KOREANFULLCOURSE  2 года назад +7

      Mm.. What I usually do when I learn a foreign language is I turn on a movie or radio or youtube video and trying to repeat after native speakers like a parrot even if I don't understand it. This will help you to improve your pronunciation.

    I'm Korean, but if I were to learn Korean from scratch, it would be difficult. Even among Koreans, there are people who make a lot of mistakes, but I respect those who study foreign languages hard!!

    Thank you so much. I am 65 y/o and I love languages. My daughter got me interested in BTS. I want so much to understand their conversations. I am up for the challenge. I myself that I will learn it. And thanks to you I really believe that I can.

    • @KOREANFULLCOURSE
      @KOREANFULLCOURSE  2 года назад +5

      Hello!
      Oh, thank you so much! I am so glad to have you here. I also love languages a lot :)
      Of course you can. I am not a native speaker as I said in the description of this channel. If I and hundreds of other foreigners could, why can't you.
      What can help you to speed up your learning process is to understand the difference in sentence structure between English and Korean first.
      I have a lesson where I explain it. I think it's among the first 10 lessons I uploaded. If you can't find it, just tell me. I will search it for you.
      But since you said you love languages, I can make a guess you may already know one of the Altaic langauges, like Turkish or Japanese.
      Knowing these langauges will help you to learn Korean a bit faster.
      And if you know Chinese, you can build your Korean vocabulary super fast because about 70% of all Korean vocubulary is coming from the Chinese language.
      Feel free to ask me questions if you get stuck during the learning process :)

    If you knew how long I searched for a channel with clear and accessible explanations.
    How many textbooks and video courses I have not come across, everywhere there was a difference in pronunciation and spelling. For a long time I could not understand why "ㅈ" is spelled differently everywhere, and I even thought that these are different letters 😅
    I was already upset that learning Korean was too hard for me and I should give it up 😢
    But I'm so grateful to RUclips that your video came up in my recommendations. Just when I was beginning to have a lot of doubts and decided to quit studying. And thank you so much for such a detailed breakdown. Thank you for giving me hope. Now I will learn Korean through your channel. Good luck and prosperity ❤

    This was very helpful. I still see some Korean videos that give ㄱ as a k sound and some as more of a g sound so I find that a bit confusing. This was a great video. I basically know the alphabet but some of the more complex vowels are challenging.

    • @KOREANFULLCOURSE

      Yeah, you can do it. Depending on what your native language is or what languages you speak at a native level, reaching level TOPIK 3-4 may take you 2 to 2.5 years of hard work.
      Levels 3-4 is what you need to be eligible to apply for a Bachelor's degree in Korea. Level 4 is actually better. With level 3 you still can be accepted but it will be difficult to understand what teachers say and it may take 2-3x more time for you to do homework and prepare for exams.
      Korea provides lots of scholarship programs for students from developing countries. I am not sure if they have scholarships for people from Europe (except Southern and Eastern Europe) and North America.

      We generally speak English in my country. If u would go to level of native languages we have alot . So since I speak English it shouldn't be much of a challenge to me, should it?
      Are scholarships for Africans also available?

    • @KOREANFULLCOURSE
      @KOREANFULLCOURSE  Год назад +1

      @@annie_woo362 This is not a fact, but I think one of the most challenging things for non-Indian, non-Altaic language speakers is sentence structure.
      So, it may be a challenge for you at the beginning. Don't get discouraged :)
      I saw people who have been learning Korean for two years, and know a bunch of grammar rules and words but still cannot make complex sentences. This happens because they don't know in what order to put all of the words and grammar particles, they have no much experience with the sentence structure of the Korean language.
      ---------
      Indian and Altaic languages have almost the same sentence structure, so those who know these languages usually learn Korean faster.
      The sentence structure of Hindi, other languages spoken in India, Bengali, Turkish, Azerbaijani, Central Asian (Uzbek, Kazakh, etc.), Uyghur, languages spoken by native people in the Siberian region of Russia, Mongolian, and Japanese have I would say up to 90% same sentence structure as Korean.
      European languages (except a few whose structure is similar to Korean), African, South East Asian (Malay, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, etc.), Arabic, Iranian (Farsi), Chinese are different.
      -----------
      Yes, definitely there are scholarships for Africans.
