Same, but I’m starting to get out of that with all of the medium length styles, layers, and proportions that I’m trying, but I’m still going to eventually start with getting it from my mouth/bottom of nose to the bottom of my chin, and then eventually further to get to shoulder length and long hair, plus after that I’ll go even longer. However, I’m still definitely keeping the bottom going further and further down no matter what, so I’m starting to get a mullet despite having an undercut in the past. My hair also was cut an inch shorter in the front, and then I was biting it, and after that there were baby hairs & I cut the other hairs further back on the top to even them out, so I guess that’s how I’m able to get used to only having medium length hair in the front.
I’m at 15 months and it still has to be wet to get in a full man bun. My hair is very thick and voluminous like GOOPER’s but I like it down unless I’m working out. Good luck Lions and don’t give up!!
Sadly, I shaved it at the 2 year anniversary back in April. There was a weird period right around the 15-16 month time where it grew, what seemed to be a few inches. I just woke up one day and it easily went into a bun. I’m back to month 2 and gonna keep it this time. I made too many mistakes while growing it last time and just felt like I needed a clean canvas to start over again with more gratitude for the process. Good luck, gentlemen!
It took me 11 months to be able to tie up all of my hair. And even then, there are still some parts that don’t “really” tie up. Great video as always Thomas!

I'm 15 and started growing mine out at September 2019, it's September 2020 now and it all fits into a sleek bun! Still have to use hairspray here and there, but no bobby pins requires. It has to be sleek to fit though, which is a perfect formal look for school! Can't wait to be able to tie it up loosely though, that'll be in around January!

Took me about a year to begin puttin my disconnected undercut into a manbun, but it was tight af, and a year and a half to really have the length desired to be able to twist it around itself before putting it in a bun. And now back to the start, this time growing it all out since february, instant regret after cutting it lol
9 months in two days ago. I can barely, just barely do a full manbun. I can do a samurai bun/half bun/half pony fairly easily. I do think the process gets easier with time, especially when you begin to see some (long awaited) change. I'm excited!
I got a buzz cut in January. About 7 months in now growing it out. Hopefully within the next 10-15 months I’ll be able to get a man bun. Currently my hair is the same length all over at around 4 inches, so it’s looking a little awkward atm. Tip: get a headband and / or a beanie as being fixated on your hair can lead to it getting cut.
Tbh for me it took almost two years of patience to get a man bun because my hair grows pretty slow and I started with a buzz cut so it took longer now I’m officially two years of hair growth and trust me it still need to grow more so I can tie it all the way to the front it’s currently about shoulder length

Tyler Borus literally same! I’m in month 12 and I can get all but the sides into a medium man bun but in the last year it went from loose waves to ringlets at the bottom 🤔
My hair is wavy and in Sept 2023 I had 1 inch on the sides and a little longer on top. Now it’s June 2024 and yes I can kinda do a top knot thing but it definitely does not all fit into a bun, but some sides can fit, but the very front does not go very far back, so still plenty of loose strands. I’m going to keep it going! We’ll see how it goes in December 👍

Ok so I kinda live in the country and everyone was getting a mullet you know. I can’t decide whether or not to do it so I decided to keep it long but put it behind my ears and wear a cap I’m totally happy where I am and I love my hair
My hair usually grows at 2-3 inches Per month and I decided to go bald back in July, and let it grow out again, and it’s only grown 2 inches in that 3 months. I’m seriously thinking about purchasing a set of Watermans hair growth shampoo and conditioner and trying that out
12 months=manageable man bun...for me And I go by the adage...'patiemce is virtue' when it comes to growing anything out, be it bun or muscles...so, you're right...it takes for as long as it takes. It's the journey, not the destination that makes it interesting
MY TIP TO PEOPLE: during the awkward stage, you can tie it up around the back and use a headband to pull up the hair around the sides and back. It'll make it seem like it's long enough to tie up without actually being able to. Without this trick I wouldve most definately shaved my head
So does that mean that you cut the bottom super short because to get the top to reach all the way down low, it has to be well past the chin (10” or more), while getting the bottom to get all the way up to the crown only requires about 6”? So if you can only do it low and can’t even get it towards the middle, then it’s probably only 2” or less, while the front must be 10”.
Did you continue to grow? I got thick hair and I got a undercut too just not sure it will look good the man bun I want the sides to not look thick but I want to try it out
I ordered the watermans in mid April and they still aren’t at my house yet😭. I’m staying strong with the growth so far, just got to stage 3 a week ago.

Great video and links to other pages, theres some great knowledge around, you would think hair is something simple, it is not... like the ph of our bodies is different, and our allergies etc, the same for our hair, our hair is part of us... and its nice to be part of this mane-frame
I already have a manbun it's 12 inches in length only thing is i shave the sides, now i want to grow it out for a complete full manbun any tips i should know about.
My side hair grows so slowly... it's 10 months old and way too short to tie :( But the hair on the top is pretty long. About 10 inches, because it was already long when i started. So i'm currently wearing loose wavy hair.
The quarantine helps me with the: "Its-long-enough-to-do-it-in-a-ponytail/bun-but-it-looks-weird-and-having-it-loose-makes-you-look-like-a-weirdo"-stage if i do it in a tail, the length of it is around 17cm (about 6.5 inches). And oh boy i am proud of that. i hope that the quarantine and summer break give me enough time to make it look good when i enter university around september.
How will i get a hair cut when i get a manbun like if my hair gets too long how will they cut it but they cut it just a little bit to the point where i can still get the man bun? Like if my hair is too long in the future cus im trying to grow a man bun but after the man bun is complete what if later my hair gets too long and it looks bad
Do you need to get an undercut like he did for a manbun? I have curly hair and the sides and the back of the head hair is way to short to put into a bun. Have been growing for like 7 months now. I always thought you need to just let the hair grow and when long enough combine all sides to a bun.
I always see man bun bein associated with men with masculine facial structures, i have a chubby/round face ( still on my weight loss journey so it might change when i am at my ideal weight ) and a small nose, i really want to have a man bun but i am worried it wont look good on me
Im 6 months in, believe me it gets awkward and everyone wants you to cut it or you yourself want to cut it but stick with it bro it will get better mine still isnt long enough but my hair is looking weird i gotta wear a skully or a hat
My hair kinda got fried from straightening it without heat protectant previously , should I cut it to my shoulders or keep it if so how would I be able to grow it back to my nipples
Don’t cut , you can repair it slowly but surely . Start with doing hair mask, and conditioning a lot more. That’s what I did when my hair was fried a few months ago- also it helps if you dry your hair with a t shirt after a shower rather than a towel because the towels fabric will cause frizz and not help
My hair grows like half an inch to an inch a month it’s currently at lip level at the front but the back is much shorter only 2 or 3 inches, sides are the same how long do you think it would take for me to get a full man bun and get out of the awkward stage?
Hello, I wanted to ask you this for a long time... I have a dry scalp and half wavy & half curly hair ...is it okay for me to get a keratin treatment?.. do we get hair loss..and which keratin treatment would you suggest
I'm at around a year now but I don't think I'm close to a man bun yet :(. My hairs thick which is great for a mane but man bun it's still got a while to go

Great video and links to other pages, theres some great knowledge around, you would think hair is something simple, it is not... like the ph of our bodies is different, and our allergies etc, the same for our hair, our hair is part of us... and its nice to be part of this mane-frame
I'm just now at about a year and four months and just finally I can barely tie it all.
My fade on the sides is growing since June (it's September rn)
Nd the hair on the top is growing since March...
The quarantine helps me with the: "Its-long-enough-to-do-it-in-a-ponytail/bun-but-it-looks-weird-and-having-it-loose-makes-you-look-like-a-weirdo"-stage
if i do it in a tail, the length of it is around 17cm (about 6.5 inches). And oh boy i am proud of that.
i hope that the quarantine and summer break give me enough time to make it look good when i enter university around september.
I’m on my 9 month 🙏 my hair grows really fast but I can’t put it not yet
15 months will be sweet spot
How long does it take to get to a top knot length with my long thick hair that goes only to the beginning of the back of my head? Would love help
Took me ten months, it was tight at first but after a year it was perfect and loose.
I's been exatly 1 year that I've been growing my hair and now I can make a half bun but for a full bun I 'd say between 15-18 months
Do you need to get an undercut like he did for a manbun? I have curly hair and the sides and the back of the head hair is way to short to put into a bun. Have been growing for like 7 months now. I always thought you need to just let the hair grow and when long enough combine all sides to a bun.
Almost been a year for me. I have relatively long hair and can do a hair bun, but still there are some noticable hair strings coming off :(
If I'm growing an undercut man bun how long will it usually take if I grow like 1.25 inches of hair a month
Tooks me 1 year than mum forced me to shave it now its on my shelf
I always see man bun bein associated with men with masculine facial structures, i have a chubby/round face ( still on my weight loss journey so it might change when i am at my ideal weight ) and a small nose, i really want to have a man bun but i am worried it wont look good on me
Important question:
where did you get that shirt from?
Currently I’m on my 3rd month I wish I can achieve a man bun on December
Good Luck man, hang in there
In 8 months I am able to make a half way bun
After four to five months will I be able to get a perfect man bun???
Im 4months in! Should i continue it's really gettin' awkward 😂
You could do a haircut to tidy everything up, I did that amd I look 10x better but I am still on my way to get the man bun
Im 6 months in, believe me it gets awkward and everyone wants you to cut it or you yourself want to cut it but stick with it bro it will get better mine still isnt long enough but my hair is looking weird i gotta wear a skully or a hat
I'm at 4 months too. My left side is growing faster than my right side. Sliding into the awkward. We got this
My hair kinda got fried from straightening it without heat protectant previously , should I cut it to my shoulders or keep it if so how would I be able to grow it back to my nipples
Ohh yeah
Hello, I wanted to ask you this for a long time... I have a dry scalp and half wavy & half curly hair ...is it okay for me to get a keratin treatment?.. do we get hair loss..and which keratin treatment would you suggest
I am a big fan of keratin treatments.
@@thomasinaction Thank you😊....which keratin treatment, do you think would be the best?
Im 10 months in and can tie a tiny palm tree on my head that looks like a toddler. I have a long way to go lol
About to hit a year, and still am not even able to get it all up :/
I have short hair ive always have but i want a man bun but idk if it would look good on me
Finally 5 month complete 🤣😁
I'm at around a year now but I don't think I'm close to a man bun yet :(. My hairs thick which is great for a mane but man bun it's still got a while to go
Wish I grown my sides at the same time :( been growing the top for 2.5 years 😂😂
Great simple video appreciate it
its been a year since a full hair cut mine is long in the back but the sides are having trouble catching up. i can do a rat tail but not a full bun
How much inches is needed to go in a bun?
Can you cute the sides and let the top grow or you gotta let the sides grow too cause the side is bothering me hair goes in my hair
But I want the Eren Jäger style now ;(
Silly question where did u get that shirt?
13 months in half up half down bun almost to my chin from a buzz,
