- Fixing your logs with log edits is completely fine to do. This will show you how to use the Samsara Driver App to make edits to your logbook.
Be careful when making log edits, do not make it a regular part of your day. Log edits are for situations where you have a small slip up on your logbook and need to fix a small problem. But these edits will show up to inspectors, they will see what the status was before you made the change. So it is important to add good notes so they understand your reasons for making a change.

Hey By mistake I certify the log which showed up (that wasnt mine) which put me into violation what should I do now?

I have few queries, Could you please help to answer those:
1. If log is not certified (For current or previous days) then can the company request edit to logs?
If yes, do we need to ceritfy existing one first then accept or reject the suggested edits?
2. Can the current log be edited from app or suggested for edit from backend?
3. Can driver certify current day log , even when day is not finished.

1. If you have not certified you can make edits to non-driving status yourself. The company can make edits to driving and non-driving status whether you have certified or not. BUT, you will not be able to accept their edits until you certify your log as is, and then it will ask you if you want to accept the carrier edits and once you accept or reject them you can re-certify your log.
2. Yes you can edit from your driver app. Carrier cannot edit from fleet app.
3. Yes you can certify before your day is finished. But if you work after that it will make you certify that day again.

How the hell does a driver expect to be productive if he has to commit nearly all of his time trying to figure out what it was that got screwed up on his log book??? Samsara is absolute bullshit. This app makes it too damn easy to royally destroy a log book. All it was designed to do was to get a driver fired. Driver turnover rates are hideous now because of this app. My company should have stuck with the Keep Truckin' app which is a hell of a lot better than this garbage.
Sorry it has been so hard to use for you. This video is just to the drivers who are using to better understand it. In our company we just switched this year to the Samsara platform and it has made all of us very happy compared to the previous logging platform we used. Good Luck!
