Random driver here... I quit a company for using cameras. Maybe if you don’t trust your drivers they shouldn’t drive for you? Cause gee, nothing instills more confidence in my employer than a mysterious eye in my cab that monitors my every move. There are honest and hard working drivers out there but nobody takes the time to find them...

I pray that one day you own 24 tractors and have 2 deal with shithead drivers. You might look at things differently

“We wanna pay drivers good, but we don’t wanna overpay them.” “Anybody who says that is because they’re doing something they’re not supposed to be doing… I gotta watch this guy super extra close.” Ugh! Or a good truck driver just does not want to be micromanaged! Not someone I would want to work for. Especially in this day.

Right. What he is doing is called projecting. If you think people are trying to get over on you, you probably need to stop getting over on people. I've read up on these devices, and it's common for production to go down. Some people just don't know how to manage people, and their ego won't let them change. Which is hard to imagine with that idiotic hat he wears.

im a 20 year driver if you paid well enough you would get better drivers problem is companies want top tier drivers for bottom tier pay

Listen to the words he uses to describe his drivers. Why would anybody want to work for him. If you are choosing questionable drivers that's on you buddy.

U obviously have never dealt with hiring over 30 drivers...if you think 30 great drivers are just gonna come 2 you, your smoking crack! I've fired over 150 drivers in the last 4 years ...as far as why would they wanna work for me, because im one of the highest paying employers in the country. I have drivers making over 100k a year local. Alot of shithead drivers out there and that's why they will be working for someone like me till their 65 years old.

This guy is a muppet speaking badly about drivers like that. In UK the truck is not just a work horse but a bedroom too, as if they gonna want wizards like this eegit watching them through the night

What difference does it make what the driver is doing. As long as you have the outside camera to see the dirt bag 4 wheeler cutting in front of the truck and purposely slamming on breaks, then who cares what the driver was doing. The outside camera explains enough to protect the company. Even if the driver is distracted, he is still getting canned and you will be responsible for the accident.
But I get it. You could care less. You indicated that in the first 30 seconds. “ I ain’t paying my drivers 30% when I can get by paying them less than %12 percent.”
At least lie and say “ I set aside x amount because I cover dental, breakdowns, health, etc. “

Ur are speaking on a subject you've never had any experience in. I hate even wasting my time responding to you but I'm gonna make it quick. Few months ago I caught a driver dosing off on drugs. Outside camera would of cough that? Your thinking as a driver...when you respond to me think as a fleet owner

Nah fam, why record inside. As long as the trucking is moving what is the problem.? Everyone needs their privacy.
Would you like to get recorded when you use the restroom?

  • @stephenyoung3296

Nah that’s bullshit. Not everyone likes to be babysat like a bloody child. Trust must go two ways, and you have destroyed one pathway. While it might help you keep an eye on your shithead drivers, the drivers that are self disciplined will not appreciate you.

    • @amazonwizard8147

I pray that one day you own 24 tractors and 50 drivers. You might look at things differently. We dont sit there and watch drivers all day. We only use them when we have a shithead driver who isnt doing things correctly. I pay drivers $30 an hour. I have drivers who make six figures a year. Small price to pay in my books.

    • @stephenyoung3296
      @stephenyoung3296 2 года назад +6

@@amazonwizard8147 That is your cost/reward analysis thereof. As with anything, there are downsides. Keeping the shitheads in line doesn’t change the fact that the camera is a slap in the face to your driver’s that have operated safely/made you money for years(?).

  • @fullmetaljacket1379

This device is just legal tattletale SPY hardware to get a driver fired for saying the wrong thing. THAT'S ALL. It does not serve the better interest of the driver, nor does it serve in the interest of 'safety'. Only the company's interest that's trying to get rid of you. Productivity will be absolute shit now because this device was design to rat on the driver trying to do his, or her, job and now, a driver can't even sneeze in their own vehicle without some kind of penalty..Now, a driver gets to INTEROGATED while driving. That will surely keep your drivers in a customer friendly mood. What a bunch of B.S.

I truly understand the use of this system, I have a fleet o trucks that have to travel across the country and they also have to sell merchandise (fruit and vegetables when they arrive in a wholesaler, but when they do they start to rip a cent per fruit or item and that is basically stealing, when you calculate a cent per fruit lets say plantain, it is a LOT of money they end up stealing. I fully agree on cameras

You're getting alot of hate about monitoring your trucks.
I am a uber driver and I record ALL of my trips. I inform every single passenger who enters my vehicle that they're being recorded. Even in one party consent states, regardless of the fact that uber notifies the riders upon my connection to their request.
When you are a businessman, who takes professionalism seriously, you have to protect your business. The rate in which you pay your drivers is none of my business, but I'm sure you explain it to them similar to how you let them know they're being monitored.
At that point they have a choice to agree to the terms, or disagree. At least you are covered brother. Don't let others who are not experienced in this field to discourage you from protecting your business. Little do they know, you're also protecting the drivers too. Peace to you.

He assumes things about his drivers. Perhaps his drivers should ask themselves why he wants to monitor them 24/7. That tells you another oboit your employer. My job was to get things fixed, since the company installed cameras my job is to be busy. Do you think my production goes up or down?
