jawtooth i really enjoy your videos. I live in scranton pa home of steamtown , the steam train was from there . Thank you for showing it i really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work thanks.
Regarding that steel train, it was probably B523, known as the Dearborn Special, going from Cliffs in Middletown up to the plant in Dearborn, MI. They also have B522, called the Middletown Special, going the other way. I don't understand why Cliffs sends some steel from one plant to another, in both directions, but I do find it interesting to see rail traffic that is directly connected to people who do work in our area (in contrast to trains that seem to be just passing through). They must be sending some form/type of steel down to Middletown to be processed, and then back to Dearborn to be further processed or sold, and vice versa.
@JawTooth, I just watched B522 headed south on the Deshler PTZ cam; it had many steel slabs on those blue cars, and a bunch of empty steel coil cars. Contrast that with B523 that you recorded headed north: empty slab cars and a bunch of steel coils. So, it seems like Cliffs is sending slabs to Middletown to have them turned into coils. I'm not sure why I had never paid attention to this before.
The meet with CSX and NS EMD SD40-2s for power was cool 😎 especially on CSX on a through freight, NS running long hood forward and both trains booking, good train day!🛤🚂👍
great vid. the cars after the coil cars i think are called ingot or slab cars, or pipe / I-Beam cars. they looked all empty and heading back to some kind of foundry to be reloaded.
That first CSX train had two locomotives at the head end and a DPU in the middle. Great shot coming around the curve. No flat spots on that steel coil train, sounded sweet and smooth. Cool train meet, long hood forward. I wonder what that 3rd CSX train was hauling, looked like all the same covered hoppers. Nice little bit of radio chatter as well. Nice shot of the auto racks/Locomotive up close. What was that hissing sound coming from those two Locomotives? I didn't see any sand being sprayed. Interesting. I'm pretty sure no one is going to miss any of that equipment on that unused rust track JT. I'm sure it would be ok if a piece went home with ya. All in all, fantastic video as always Son! You got me on the Hawaiian shirts now lol. Maybe they will make an appearance on my next video. Cheers from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Hi Jaw Tooth! Great video! Love that little steam locomotive! On that first CSX train - DPU we see you!! That was cool seeing the two trains passing you at the same time Have a great week!
This is a great video here with the locomotive going by as well as the trains going by on each side of you, great to see more of your pets playing in the yard and another great video Thank You Jaw Tooth. 🤠🐶🐱👍 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
The engines on the first train in Carlisle were sounding really good! At least i was able to really hear them. Awesome catches! A good day to be a railfan! Thanks for the video! Rail on till next time!
Jawtooth can you post more videos of abandoned tracks that you find? I really enjoyed the one from the other day. They look so cool with all the plant life growing up.
Wunderbar! Señor Jaws. Meine Oma Hilde und meine Tante Mildred lived in Lackawanna, New York. Man! When they shouted at you in German, you knew down to your bones you were shouted at. Gracias por tu video. DerRobMann/RT sends, envía und sendet, Puebla, Méxiko...
A queston for you, JT. I can understand the trains sounding their horn as they approach a road crossing, as a lot of them are ungated, but - apart from it being required - why do they sound while the loco is actually ON the crossing? Anyone that hasn't noticed and got out of the way is going to be firmly attached to the front of the loco! 🙂
Had a look on Google Earth. I think that old track was just a spur that served the building there. Don't see any evidence that it connected to the other line. (still very cool though, love to think about what it might have been one day).
Fun one JT. That intermodal was really moving! Steel train looks like one I saw earlier. Then 2 at once Wow. Then a long one with a nice mix of cars. ❤
There is an A.K. Steel plant there in Middletown, Oh. I wouldn't mind seeing how they load the steel rolls onto the cars! ...Yes a couple of those trains were " hooning"!😊 Thank you Jawtooth.👍
That was one long, long CSX container train J B Hunt, Schneider and Walmart seem to dominate most container trains. I don't know if it's true or not but I once heard J B Hunt got his start shipping watermelons south to north in the bach seat of his car. 😊
He used to carry them in the trunk but, one day he was delivering to this big German guy, who couldn't find them and started yelling "Verdi melons? Ver you Haydn them?" So, from that day onwards, he put them on the Bach seat of his station Wagner.
This very large graffiti “Yups Crew”, which no doubt refers to a TV series, occupies the entire side wall of a car and is a real eye-catcher! What's curious is that the graffiti doesn't cover the car's markings, as if it had been painted when the car was built. 🙄
Rail car taggers learned a long time ago that if they cover the car's markings, the car gets repainted. That info is there for a reason and needs to be visible. The taggers know that as long as they work around the info, the companies that own the cars won't repaint them, and their tags stay visible for much longer.
@@Yungfoamer In the real world it makes perfect sense. The whole point of tagging is to have your name seen. Combine that with the fact that railroads are a for profit enterprise and maximizing profits is the name of the game, repainting cars is an expense that if it can be avoided, is avoided. The numbers/weights on the cars are important enough that if they get covered, the car needs to be repainted so the information is visibly available again. Soooooo, that means if a tagger paints everything except the numbers, the owner of the car has no immediate reason to repaint, thus maximizing profits, and the tag stays on the car much longer, thus being seen by more people. How does this NOT make sense?
Brian....we were on the steamer we sat in 102, 4th seat but on the other side otherwise i would have hollered at you... was pretty awesome..its on my page coming into the station....
Just now tuning in. Second cup of coffee and a Jaw Tooth Video.

Although not that many of them it was still an awesome steel coil train! 😊😊😊
I was pleased to see, of all things, a DT&I caboose!

Nice catches Brian. Got a N/S and a CSX Intermodal running together last week on the Harrisburg East Line. Rare to see that here.
Lost Depot films trains in Carlisle quite a bit. I knew that those railroad crossings looked familiar.
Jawtooth where’s the speed gun! You ought to have a holster for that item so it’s always available!!

Great job Jaw Tooth. Anyone that doesn't watch your clips just don't know what they are missing. Robert.
The steel coils probably came out of (Middletown Cleveland Cliffs) heading north to Detroit. That’s my guess. Good train meet

I've never heard of Yups Crew until today. Really don't know what that is. Excellent video. Mechanical bells rule over e-bells. Have a nice day 😊🌈
Maybe it's a new political party!
The people that live in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan are called Yupers. Maybe it’s in relation to that. Yupers crew?
If you Google it, it's an Atlanta graffiti group. It's pretty rare for art-style graffiti to be anything other than art.

That fancy tag job YUPS CREW at 12:30 and in the slide show is so elaborate that I wonder if it was done by a train crew.
