- Trains Passing On Both Sides Of Me, Train Knocks Down The Signal & Abandoned Railroad Interchange Track. Norfolk Southern Railroad & CSX Trains In Carlisle, Ohio. Check Out The Graffiti On These Railroad Freight Cars! Fast Trains Booking Down The Toledo Sub! Steam locomotive running with caboose and passenger cars is included as a preview video from my Steam Trains playlist.
The video starts with a steam train ride in Lebanon, Ohio on the Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad. See my recent video of it. After that we go to a railroad crossing with a CSX main line and two Norfolk Southern tracks. An intermodal train and a steel coils train pass the crossing northbound.
Next we see a southbound CSX grain train in a hurry on my left while a Norfolk Southern train appears on my right running northbound ( railroad east ). The NS train is a local switching freight train that had just completed its duties near Middletown and was returning to Dayton. The locomotive was running long hood forward which was pretty cool! That was awesome standing between two trains that were both booking!
Then we go about a mile south to catch a northbound CSX manifest with a DPU. This train had to wait on the previous CSX train to pass it so that explains why that train was in such a hurry. After that we take a quick look at an abandoned railroad track. There is still part of the switch with the derail in place and a long section of track that disappears into the brush. This line used to connect the ex Baltimore & Ohio Railroad line with the Detroit, Toledo & Ohio Railroad. Parts of the old DT&I still exist. There is a 5 mile section running northwest to Germantown, Ohio that serves one customer and a few miles run to the southeast to Franklin, Ohio to serve two customers and includes a street running section that I have filmed quite a few times.
The final train is a southbound intermodal train. It is heading to Queensgate Yard in Cincinnati.
Don't forget the pets and the slide show that comes from the video! Best frequencies in Carlisle are 160.980 for Norfolk Southern and 160.230 for CSX. End Of Train is 452.9375 and it does come in handy also unless a train is stopped nearby. Best frequency for LMMRR is 161.385

Jawtoorh. My name is Jeff Green. I am Greg from Buckeye Freight Railin's cousin. I live in Hanover, PA but, have been watching your channel for years. I am originally and still say home is Beavercreek, OH just outside of Dayton. I just want to say thank you for your videos. I am a railfan and love them. However, thanks even more for showing me pieces of home all of the time.
I am supposedly going to meet you on Thursday. Very much looking forward it. Best Wishes!
The steamer rocks like a hobby horse with that short wheelbase!
thanks for watching !
On the abandoned track i wonder how old the rail is
A Train coming at you , from around a bend , is *_Aways"_* a cool shot 😎 👌 👏👏👏
Nice to see Black grain hoppers mixed in with white ones.
Jawtooth where’s the speed gun! You ought to have a holster for that item so it’s always available!!
Just now tuning in. Second cup of coffee and a Jaw Tooth Video.
Regarding that steel train, it was probably B523, known as the Dearborn Special, going from Cliffs in Middletown up to the plant in Dearborn, MI. They also have B522, called the Middletown Special, going the other way. I don't understand why Cliffs sends some steel from one plant to another, in both directions, but I do find it interesting to see rail traffic that is directly connected to people who do work in our area (in contrast to trains that seem to be just passing through). They must be sending some form/type of steel down to Middletown to be processed, and then back to Dearborn to be further processed or sold, and vice versa.
@JawTooth, I just watched B522 headed south on the Deshler PTZ cam; it had many steel slabs on those blue cars, and a bunch of empty steel coil cars. Contrast that with B523 that you recorded headed north: empty slab cars and a bunch of steel coils. So, it seems like Cliffs is sending slabs to Middletown to have them turned into coils. I'm not sure why I had never paid attention to this before.
Thanks nice to know things much appreciated
Mixed manifests are so kool ...even a flat of axles and truck frames ...kool collection of c.n boxcars jt thx !
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo comme toujours ! 🌟
The meet with CSX and NS EMD SD40-2s for power was cool 😎 especially on CSX on a through freight, NS running long hood forward and both trains booking, good train day!🛤🚂👍
Thanks for watching😊
Although not that many of them it was still an awesome steel coil train! 😊😊😊
Happy Rails to all..
Thanks for being here so fast!
I enjoyed watching this video of CSX and Norfolk Southern trains in the Carlise, Ohio area, Jaw Tooth!
Lost Depot films trains in Carlisle quite a bit. I knew that those railroad crossings looked familiar.
Very good timing two trains passed seen and long long trains . Thank you very much !
👍 Bun sunet de locomotivă🚂😀
Another great video JT. Thanks again for sharing.God bless
Thanks for watching Rick!
great vid. the cars after the coil cars i think are called ingot or slab cars, or pipe / I-Beam cars. they looked all empty and heading back to some kind of foundry to be reloaded.
They were slab cars.
Yups Crew has some real talent. Shame if the only outlet for it was to decorate freight cars
@AndreiTupolev agreed.
Thanks for watching !

You've turned your hobby

That little steam engine is very cool great train action great video thanks Jaw tooth
I was pleased to see, of all things, a DT&I caboose!
I like the abandoned tracks you have been showing and always enjoy the pets playing. Puppy is almost as big as Chessie!
CSX was picking them up, putting them down!
The steel coils probably came out of (Middletown Cleveland Cliffs) heading north to Detroit. That’s my guess. Good train meet
Wunderbar! Señor Jaws. Meine Oma Hilde und meine Tante Mildred lived in Lackawanna, New York. Man! When they shouted at you in German, you knew down to your bones you were shouted at. Gracias por tu video. DerRobMann/RT sends, envía und sendet, Puebla, Méxiko...

You're catching quite a few very long trains today JT. That's fantastic! ❤😊😊
Thank you very much!
that would be interesting@@FabianDiazTrainsTrucksNCars
@@JawTooththe first CSX train had 2 Locomotives on the point and a DPU
That fancy tag job YUPS CREW at 12:30 and in the slide show is so elaborate that I wonder if it was done by a train crew.
If you Google "Yups Crew", they're an Atlanta graffiti group.
love the steam train with the caboose and nice catches of freight trains too
Thank you very much!😊
Good one ! Love Norfie and Brandy at the very end!!😂😂
Awesome!👍🚂
Big decision on how to video both trains when you are right in the middle :) That was a nice long manifest train and it had a DPU!
Interesting to watch with a drone !
Very true!😊
@@JawTooth great job
Great job Jaw Tooth. Anyone that doesn't watch your clips just don't know what they are missing. Robert.
It looks like the CSX and NS lines would intersect but I guess they don't? 😊
A queston for you, JT. I can understand the trains sounding their horn as they approach a road crossing, as a lot of them are ungated, but - apart from it being required - why do they sound while the loco is actually ON the crossing? Anyone that hasn't noticed and got out of the way is going to be firmly attached to the front of the loco! 🙂
Jawtooth can you post more videos of abandoned tracks that you find? I really enjoyed the one from the other day. They look so cool with all the plant life growing up.
I agree. Loved the abandoned tracks. It challenges the imagination about what once was. More please.
That first CSX train had two locomotives at the head end and a DPU in the middle. Great shot coming around the curve. No flat spots on that steel coil train, sounded sweet and smooth. Cool train meet, long hood forward. I wonder what that 3rd CSX train was hauling, looked like all the same covered hoppers. Nice little bit of radio chatter as well. Nice shot of the auto racks/Locomotive up close. What was that hissing sound coming from those two Locomotives? I didn't see any sand being sprayed. Interesting. I'm pretty sure no one is going to miss any of that equipment on that unused rust track JT. I'm sure it would be ok if a piece went home with ya. All in all, fantastic video as always Son! You got me on the Hawaiian shirts now lol. Maybe they will make an appearance on my next video. Cheers from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Another great video. Stay safe and have a blessed day.
Great video keep up the good work God bless and stay safe from GA
I've never heard of Yups Crew until today. Really don't know what that is. Excellent video. Mechanical bells rule over e-bells. Have a nice day 😊🌈
Maybe it's a new political party!
The people that live in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan are called Yupers. Maybe it’s in relation to that. Yupers crew?
If you Google it, it's an Atlanta graffiti group. It's pretty rare for art-style graffiti to be anything other than art.
This is a great video here with
the locomotive going by as well
as the trains going by on each
side of you, great to see more of

another great video Thank You Jaw Tooth.

Excellent Video!!

Start the video, son!!! Great catches… the little steamer was COOL!
Some awesome train action JT, a great video. Thanks again.😇👌👍
Thank you very much!😊
That was one long, long CSX container train J B Hunt, Schneider and Walmart seem to dominate most container trains. I don't know if it's true or not but I once heard J B Hunt got his start shipping watermelons south to north in the bach seat of his car. 😊
He used to carry them in the trunk but, one day he was delivering to this big German guy, who couldn't find them and started yelling "Verdi melons? Ver you Haydn them?" So, from that day onwards, he put them on the Bach seat of his station Wagner.
Nice catches Brian. Got a N/S and a CSX Intermodal running together last week on the Harrisburg East Line. Rare to see that here.
12:50 is paradise.
Mr Tooth, the CSX bookin' train had 2 locomotives on the front and then a DPU!
Happy Rails, JW, and hope your videos continue to grown and be better.
Thanks for being here!
@@JawToothmy pleasure, mate.
Awesome CSX train day
Another great and luck video Jawtooth. Happy Railfanning to all!😎🤙
The CSX had 2 lead locomotives and a DPU! But it was a long train.
Live action! Loved the second to last train, assume mixed freight!
Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there
As usual your videos do not dissapoint. Not many places where you can catch two trains going at the same time. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent video JT!!!
DT&I did not own any track in this area. They did have trackage rights though and may have used this connection.
JT They still have the poles and CPLs on the Indiana sub. A old B&O line
Hi Jaw Tooth!
Great video!
Love that little steam locomotive!
On that first CSX train -
DPU we see you!!
That was cool seeing the two trains passing you at the same time
Have a great week!
0:54 so beautiful locomotive, I liked it, greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Thanks for watching my videos! I have more videos of that steam locomotive
@@JawTooth 👍👍🙏🙏
This is great man, awesome footage!!
This very large graffiti “Yups Crew”, which no doubt refers to a TV series, occupies the entire side wall of a car and is a real eye-catcher! What's curious is that the graffiti doesn't cover the car's markings, as if it had been painted when the car was built. 🙄
Rail car taggers learned a long time ago that if they cover the car's markings, the car gets repainted. That info is there for a reason and needs to be visible. The taggers know that as long as they work around the info, the companies that own the cars won't repaint them, and their tags stay visible for much longer.
On what planet does this make sense 😂😂
Yup cres is probably from storage wars the one that says yup
@@Yungfoamer In the real world it makes perfect sense. The whole point of tagging is to have your name seen. Combine that with the fact that railroads are a for profit enterprise and maximizing profits is the name of the game, repainting cars is an expense that if it can be avoided, is avoided. The numbers/weights on the cars are important enough that if they get covered, the car needs to be repainted so the information is visibly available again. Soooooo, that means if a tagger paints everything except the numbers, the owner of the car has no immediate reason to repaint, thus maximizing profits, and the tag stays on the car much longer, thus being seen by more people. How does this NOT make sense?
"which no doubt refers to a TV series"
What does it have to do with TV? It's the name of the group who painted it.
Nice Doppler effect from that first CSX train’s whistle!
Yeah!
Another great video Jawtooth
Good job
Thanks .. enjoy your videos..and your pups...I have 4 dogs..seems that some of the CSX Locomotives are bigger than other lines.
Yes they are bigger than the short lines that I film
The engines on the first train in Carlisle were sounding really good! At least i was able to really hear them. Awesome catches! A good day to be a railfan! Thanks for the video! Rail on till next time!
Thanks!
I watch almost every day!
Thanks! I really appreciate that!
❤❤😊 Great video JT amazing filming love your fur babies I enjoyed watching ❤❤❤😊
Thanks so much
Really packed with action, like it much. Thanks JT!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great day of shooting for you! Thank you!
There is an A.K. Steel plant there in Middletown, Oh. I wouldn't mind seeing how they load the steel rolls onto the cars! ...Yes a couple of those trains were " hooning"!😊 Thank you Jawtooth.👍
Right on! Lol. Hooning is a good one
Great catches and excellent video jaw tooth
Fun one JT. That intermodal was really moving! Steel train looks like one I saw earlier. Then 2 at once Wow. Then a long one with a nice mix of cars. ❤
Thanks 👍
Another interesting day! Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
Which one makes more promises CSX or NS?🤔
One Incredible Video
Nice shots.
Good job
It's interesting the railroad removes the switch, but doesn't take up the rest of that track.
Remove the liability and if the siding isn't reusable, probably cheaper to leave it especially if it'll end up back in service.
A switch on the mainline requires maintenance, so leaving it in place costs money. The scrap value of old rail isn't a whole lot, so removing a siding costs money.
In the UK, there's huge amounts of rail left around the network from when rails have been replaced, and the old rails just left by the side or sometimes even in the four-foot. I once spoke with somebody who'd gone to Network Rail and offered to use aerial photography and AI to locate all of this discarded rail so they could pick it up and scrap it. Network Rail's response was "Thanks but no thanks" -- it would have cost far more to retrieve the rail than its scrap value.
If you go about a mile North, these 2 train lines run side by side!! Just follow that road to the first cross road, Farmington Rd. Turn right and about a mile you will cross them again. Side by side! Also, where you are parked, there is usually somebody getting on the train. I think they switch workers that live here locally.
Great video! But wait there's more! JB Hunt, Tex, and lots of Pacer Stacktrain!
More to come!
I don't think Brandi liked the cat swatting her butt. 😂😂
no, that was funny though lol
Awesome awesome! Video ! Great job!👌
Had a look on Google Earth. I think that old track was just a spur that served the building there. Don't see any evidence that it connected to the other line. (still very cool though, love to think about what it might have been one day).

Imagine what it would feel like to be a motorist driving a car between the two crossings when both of the gates go down and you get trapped there.
Feels boring if you don't like trains and fun if you do?
Brian....we were on the steamer we sat in 102, 4th seat but on the other side otherwise i would have hollered at you... was pretty awesome..its on my page coming into the station....
Was the cupola type top on the caboose so the crew could see the train from the rear? 😊 Pretty cool whatever they're for.
Yes it was!😊
Great video as always
