- Remote Control Excavation Train With One Man Crew, BIG Trains With DPUs & Norfolk Southern Trains Using CSX Tracks. Train Goes Through Railroad Interchange & Exits CSX Tracks To Get Back On Norfolk Southern Tracks. DPUs Working Hard And Putting Out The Heat. These Trains Are In Ohio On Ex Baltimore And Ohio Railroad Tracks.
The first train is a HUGE CSX mixed freight heading northbound on the Toledo Sub. This train has a lot of boxcars with all kinds of graffiti. These trains are in Hamilton, Ohio just north of Cincinnati. It was so hot that I had to take off my shirt and wear a wife beater. It was in the 90s once again.
The second train is a CSX manifest with 2 locomotives on the front. This train is northbound also. Right after this train passed we see a southbound train at the same railroad crossing in Hamilton. This is a Georgetown Rail Equipment ( GREX ) self propelled slot ( SPS ) maintenance of way train. It has a track hoe on it and requires only one person to operate. Wireless control allows the person operating the track hoe to also move the train. This saves money by not needing an engineer and conductor. It also saves time by not having to wait for a crew to show up. I got this same train just two days prior in Muncie Indiana.
The next train is Norfolk Southern manifest train with a DPU. This train is seen exiting the CSX line and entering NS tracks where it will be considered eastbound using the New Castle Sub. This train was a giant! I could feel the heat from the hard working DPU at the rear.
The last train is a good CSX auto racks train heading northbound. I was told it was an intermodal train approaching but it was an auto racks train. Lol. Don't miss the pets and the slide show that comes from the video. Thanks for supporting my channel!
Filmed Friday, August 25, 2023 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

Fantastic trains, so beautiful video my friend! I liked it! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Thank you very much!
I'm enjoying these visits to Hamilton, Ohio! Your intro showed tbe old railroad buildings all boarded up! They built them to last! Trains came long before cars! Honoring where you came.from is good!
Brian, really nice live action. I would love to see that old train station repurposed as a restaurant. It's a shame to see them neglected. Always love to see the DPUs working. As always appreciate your awesome channel! 😊
That would be cool! Thanks for watching 😊
Greetings to all the JT fans!!
Thank you !
Thanks
Greetings from the UK! ❤😊
Same
@@Carolb66 Big wave from eastern Maine!!
We are under a tropical storm warning as a major category 3 hurricane approaches Tampa Bay and northern Florida!! It's In the Gulf of Mexico right now actually. Say some prays for parts Florida if you want too. I love the NS trains and your pets too. See you later in the next railfan video. Have fun with Scott aka 1960 gambit SD70ah and other train buffs in West Virginia!!
Stay Safe
Sorry to hear that. I sure hope everything works out 😮

Nice freight trains! Thanks so much Brian for sharing!
Love it when they sneak in those Horn Salutes. 🙂
5'41" , thanks for the DPU CSX#5222, I'm not surprised you can feel the heat, even when its moving. ( Hamilton, OH, 8/23 )
Wow 👌 👏 don't recall seeing that horn was loud 😳 great big train today another great one
I used to work in a cut shop. We would make parts out of them big steel rolls after they were flattened out and turned into steel plates. The point is it doesn't really matter if they rusted or not because when they go into the press, they're rolled back out into plates. They are heated up to several hundred degrees and all the rust will disappear.
Great videos on here. My grandfather was a railroad worker for B&O many years ago in the early 1940s
Very cool! Today I filmed some old B&O signals that are still in use in Troy Ohio
First train had 2 MEC Cars, 2 B&M’s, plus a lengthy salute!🎉🎉🎉
Yes indeed!
Remember that station from another video Brian . Just looked in for my daily visit .
Nice catches 🇬🇧
You got your "runner" at 16:00, well, more like a walker! Another great JT vid! At 17:40 was that a MOW pickup truck? Sure looked like it.
Lot of train action, some very long trains, thanks again JT.😇👍👌
Awesome video with a horn salute and a dpu working hard but wait there’s more 👍😎🇺🇸🚂👍
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo ! 👍🙏
I count 10 truck frames/ stack 40/car good catch on that excavator thanks for the explanation JT
Great catches and awesome video
Three great trains, 2 had wallboard from New Brunswick, two cars from Saint John.
More great trains today. Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
Thank you for posting. It has helped me have a better day
That mow engine looks cool great catches as always Jt
Weird is good, Señor Jaws. Y B normal? Well, at least some of the time. I'd also add... , but that may not apply in your case. However, it's the thought and sense of freedom that counts and is important. Gracias por tu video, RT sends, Puebla, México... Good stuff !!!
Another great video from Jaw Tooth. Have a nice day 😊🌈
Wow that first train was long! Had to have a DPU! had to be over a mile long. Just amazing we dont see anything like it in the UK. Fab video JT. ❤😊
Excellent video JT! Man that MOW loco has a serious horn!..and that tail end DPU was working hard!
🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸

Your pets are cute! Thx for sharing. I like your style. I'm taking a shot every time you say "that's cool" lol I've watched many videos and subscribed.
Thanks for subbing and thanks for watching!
Enjoyed the video. It was cool seeing the NS take the wye
As always, top quality train videos. Always wanted to be an Engineer, was a fool for not following my dreams. A shame alcohol consumed my early years.
@user-su2bq9db2u, I too wanted to be an engineer but I ended up working in civil engineering.
Sounds good, however with the way some RR's treat their employees with no time off, poor health benefits and being fired from calling in sick...?
Never give up
25 August 2023 was a good day for railfanning in Hamilton, Ohio! We got to see several mixed freight trains which allowed us to see a variety of freight cars. That GREX train is an interesting piece of maintenance of way equipment. Georgetown Rail Equipment. I think that I have seen a video of either this piece of equipment or a similar piece of equipment in action. As of December 2020, Georgetown Rail Equipment is part of Loram Technologies, Inc. Thank you, Jaw Tooth, for taking us along with you to Hamilton, Ohio!
I’ve never been an auto rack train before, I live in VA on the RF&P and we never get auto rack cars here because there too tall. But my new car is getting shipped by train here by NS
With great full thanks for great videos Mr Cool! I do like the big GEs working hard, we have the Class 70s over here in the UK but I don’t see them very often.
Hence why I find your videos so entertaining.
Very cool! Thanks for watching 😊
Great video brother
Howdy brother from New Zealand 🇳🇿
A cicada is sing . You are place is very hot . Thank you very much !
Good Video 📹 👍 Jaw Tooth 👍 📹 😊, you and 1960gambit are the very best 👌 👍 😊!!!!
Again awesome video Jaw Tooth watching enjoying too and enjoy the side show too and I'm a fan of your Again awesome video Jaw Tooth 🚂👍😃😎♥️ awesome Jaw Tooth
It seems like the longest trains go through Hamilton! Nice Video!
Great job as always. Thank you
Jaw Tooth just to let you know everyday I look forward in watching your videos, They bring me so much comfort and enjoyment. There were times I'll sit at home and watch all your videos for hours. I have my computer hooked to my TV AND tv is connected to my stereo so it sounds like I am there. Please make them even longer so that way I do not have to keep jumping up to go to the next video LOL. And the areas you pick to record makes me day dream of being there instead of being in this dreadful city I live in
Another great day of trains in Hamilton!
Indeed it is!
Great video JT! ❤😊😊😊😊😊
love seeing the SD70M's still leading a consist.
Should head over to the other side of the river sometime and try to catch one on the Indy Sub, also try to catch one on the Middletown Sub.
Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there.
Wonderful video, love the maintenance of way train, very cool
Thank you very much!
I just adore all the old industrial buildings in Hamilton! I hope they repurpose them rather than tear them down. 😊😊
Great video son....sure wish they'd get busy on that depot...
Great as usual, thanks!!!
Awesome live action as always.
ha! the cat is finally a dog toy.
That's awesome train with excavator, hey is that my friend greg😢 Buckeye freight railing the one I hear or is just my imagination?
hello jaw it's is randy i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
You can hear that DPU working hard. Robert
Nice horn on the G-rex. 🎶
Indeed!
Those were some large trains rolling through Hamilton.
Probably based on GP frames, probably with a more modern power pack
I notice that boxcars have changed design somewhat since the 50's and 60's.
Great video as usual. I was out yesterday on the N/S Line and wondered why it was so slow. Found out later they had trouble with their computerized system or something.
I heard about that 😮
Wow cool video JT!!!
With salute on the first train cool
Live action in Hamilton!😊
I saw that autorack stopped up near trenton on Friday.
Cool video Jaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!))))))))))))))
Beautiful scenes and "backdrops" in your Hamilton OH location(s). And...those horn echoes off of those classic "brick-and-mortar" buildings are "knockouts"...wow!! That GREX maintenance-of-way train was fascinating...power unit is rebuilt from a second-generation EMD, most likely Geep 38 or 40. BTW...Georgetown Rail Equipment was recently acquired by Loram. Excellent video JT...👍👍👌👌
Many thanks!
Before the GREX SPS trains we had the SLOT trains working for us and we had the Brandt Roadrailer or work train power drag it all over, I personally think the SPS is a better setup than the Herzog MPM, the SPS have a continuous articulated floor versus the individual well style cars of the MPM.
Since that excavator train is for track service, it doesn't pay attention to the track signals? Cool vid, as usual.
That utility track vehicle horn was loud!
I'm thinking a "live action" docudrama titled "Railroad Bridges Crossing the Great Miami River" has potential, JT. Headwaters all the way down to the Ohio River.
The puppy is soon going to be the boss of the house.
Trains. Trains. And MORE TRAINS! But no dogs or cats....🤔 LoL
It would be cool if you could add a rail fanning stop in East Palestine, Ohio. It would be nice to see an updated video of the town.
Jawtooth, you're about as Wonder Bread white as they come but I love the genuine interest you have for train graffiti.
Lol, thanks for watching !
Good to see SP logo on rail cars still =}
I remember them moving their depot in many of your train videos.
Amazing video
Good Morning Jaw Tooth.
Wow there's been several long trains
Great Catches
Hey JT I think you should name that second location RUNNERS CROSSING👍👍
Awesome video Denis from Santa Rosa CA
Thanks Denis! I really want too film in CA some day
@@JawTooth Santa Rosa does not have any more freight trains. We have a little commuter train. It has 2 cars
sweet horn on that MOW train
That was one strange looking power unit on the equipment train! 😊😊
That is a cool shot.😊 Kind of odd that they put that double curve in there. I wonder why. 😊😊
Awesome Action Jaw Tooth! Love the GREX MoW Train, no runners today!
By the way, I was also wondering if I could use the NS DPU clip in a documentary? It is about the Springfield OH derailment, I am explaining what DPUs are to some viewers! I will be sure to give credit or do anything you want me to add if you allow, Thank you!
