Thanks! Norfolk Southern on its website has a new heritage unit that has come out on their RUclips page in Pennsylvania right now. Waiting for it to show up when it comes through Lynchburg Virginia.
Thanks for the Super Thanks! I just saw a video about that yesterday. I hope I get to see it soon. Thanks again for your support! That really helps with the gas
It’s really amazing that during the steam era, Big Boys and other large articulated steam locomotives would pull trains like these all by themselves. And a single 4-8-4 would pull a passenger train that would have a pair of Siemens Chargers today!
It's all about the power curve. A diesel electric has all the horsepower and tractive effort at the start but it drops off rapidly as the speed ramps up. A steam locomotive has little horspower and tractive effort at the start but both build rapidly to a plateau determined by driver diameter, piston stroke and diameter, and boiler pressure. A diesel can start a train it can't pull at speed where a steam locomotive can pull a train at speed it can't start on it's own.
You never see a train being pulled by a truck. That's highly unusual there and awesome catches on those others too. I see that some of them really are moving down the tracks. Maybe they are behind on their schedules, which is what I'm thinking.
Allot of short fast trains! Love the night train too! Spotted some nice graffiti. Didn't get to do any railfanning last week, stuck with a nasty cold. I plan to during the week of Christmas. Thanks for the video Brian stay well roll on
Thanks for watching and stay well, too! Thanks for the Super Thanks! I got home a couple hours ago and feel asleep on the couch. It was cold today. I'm planning on going to LaGrange Kentucky on Saturday. I hope you get some trains when you feel better, hopefully by Christmas. Thanks again for the support Mark!
Trains, trains, and more trains. Thanks for the good video Brian. BTW.....1005 Anhydrous Ammonia. That's what farmers put in the ground to fertilize crops.
Thank you. Cracking videos. Interesting see the lorry train. The last one at night was super. Especially with sky when panning away. I bet 1950s photographers would love such equipment to capture last of the steam at night. I know at least one did with miles of cables and lots of flash guns and a large format film camera. Thanks great videos.
Got a train pulled by truck in Thurmond one time and people in the comments were saying it was not a train so my replay was it's on tracks that makes it a train made 1 of them mad 😂
Thanks for sharing Mr tooth! The truck pulling the cars was such a treat! Never seen it before! Here in southern Oregon we have lots of center beam cars for the mills.
Great video as always. The truck pulling that short train was very intriguing. I have a Baofeng Pofung UV-6R Dual-B... coming so I can listen for trains here. Going to look for how to program it for trains soon too.
I love Walton, Kentucky! Beautiful small town indeed. I love the city's crèche (a French word derived from the Latin cripia, or crib) too. Those are pretty collectable now. Just fabulous. I never know what you will surprise us with. Thanks.
Very COOL hi-rail truck pulling gondola cars and a tractor. Three AWESOME Norfolk Southern grain trains, two CSX mixed freight trains, one Norfolk Southern mixed freight train and a BNSF mixed freight train with a Norfolk Southern DPU. Thanks for sharing JT!
I love that first one hullin by a truck and of course my favorite Norfolk and Southern grain train. Great catch and the locations are perfect. Thank you JT and Brian
Very well filmed - also presenting nice scenes around the track and the impressive war memorial. Nice railroad crossings with barriers in action! Great trains - especially the fast CSX truck train - thanks for hurrying to catch it!
Another great video, lots of trains today. I was amazed at that 3rd empty grain train that had no graphite on it at all, thats unusual.. and as you would say, "what is the hurry" Be Crazy and thanks!!@!
I like the view at Locust St., 105 empty grainers (only 1 of them tagged) pulled by one AC44C6M .. pretty amazing. I like the way the trains lean in the banking of the slight curve through there. They move right along, too.
Now that's unusual - a train pulled by a truck! Fortunately, the train is short, only 5 cars. Otherwise, the truck wouldn't have enough power compared to a locomotive.
Hey jaw tooth there's something you don't see everyday . A truck pulling mow gons. I've seen self propelled crane on D&H RR in the 80s . Did Lily win game?. Glad your pets , you and your family are doing great. Have a great railroad day. 🚂🙋♀️
More awesome train action in Kentucky with CSX, NS, DPU'S and of course with live action super pets and music slide show this is always great to see thank you again Jaw Tooth.🚂🚃🚃🇺🇲
Well, that's a first for me. A truck pulling a train!! Placard 1005, Ammonia Anhydrous, a poisonous gas!! The CSX engines number 759, 5285, sure stay busy.. I have saw them on 3 videos since 11/21/24. I write them all down every time I watch your videos. N/S also!!
Another awesome video JT and that 44 R loaded grain train it comes to New Orleans right through my hometown of Pearl River. In fact, all the grain that’s coming to New Orleans is coming from up yawls way, but anyway you stay safe out there my friend and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one.
Yeah, the camera did well once the head-light of the Locomotive was passed. Came up quite well. Caption for the Road/Rail Truck "I've had it with pot-holes!" The young lass' second goal was a cracker. Football/Soccer is a great fitness sport and glad to see the youngsters getting into it. That was quite a few Trains running there. Nice one JT. Looked warmer there too; at least the sun was out. How's Norfie taking to the new kitten? She seems a sweet little lady cat. Take care now. Cheers!
Hello, I enjoy watching your video,I watch them all the way from Germany, but I was rise in Jackson Alabama, keep up the good work, you are fantastic ❤❤😊
I was surprised at how fast that MOW train was moving. That "was a good one". I liked that unit train for a couple of reasons. First because it was a unit train and second because it was clean, i.e. no graffiti.
Wonderful video jawtooth my dad said he’s a big fan of DPU’s and I’m so glad you got this also on his bday get some DPU’s too on his bday because he likes watching DPU’s booking!!!!
Thank you for documenting these trains that you Saw in Walton, Kentucky on 26 November 2024, Jaw Tooth! CSX must use that truck quite often to power Maintenance of Way trains since the truck has a train horn rather than a truck air horn. You were able to catch a lot of trains in Walton during daylight in this video. The crossing gate lights helped to make this portion of the video more visible. (Posted on 3 December 2024 at 1653 CST.)
In your travels ,stop at a truck stop and pick up a copy of the emergency response guide . Lists all the hazmat numbers and what they are and what to do in case of emergency!
Could you do a Happy Birthday to my very dear wife Vicki Treese!!! Her B-day is 12/29!!! Now she is bedridden and has been for 7 years but we do watch your postings!!! It would be special for her!!! Use your radar gun more often!!! Thanks in advance!!!...Dave
I have noticed lately that NS is running trains with less locomotives. I have seen a lot of them in the flatter areas with only one locomotive. It wouldn't make it up the hill out of the Ohio River Valley though
1005 is anhydrous ammonia it is used to make household ammonia and products for the farming industry and meny other industries as well as the paper industry. If you looked at the cars it is some times printed on the cars next to the the plackerd.
That truck pulling that train was awesome, as a Veteran I appreciate you showing that Monument. Plenty of action in this video great job Brian.👍👍

It could probably pull a few more, just need a big compressor or it would take forever to pressurize the breaks and get moving in the first place
