    I still have some of the original Spinner shafts in wedges here Jim 👍
    I didn't know the 8iron stuff though, thank you for sharing that.

    The DG Spinner wedge shafts have a really funky step pattern as well up towards the mid/high portion of the shaft.

    When you are building a set does frequency matching cost extra or is that just part of building the set? Also when you take a set to say golf Galaxy or any other store that does repair do they mess with this and swingweight at all when they reshaft or do thay just put the shaft in? Thanks for all the great videos I am still learning

    How did you know the 790s were to light & stiff for him? I’m struggling with the concept that my current clubs maybe too light and too flexible for me. How can I be sure?

    This is an off topic questions but I figured you would be the one to ask. I just got a new Ping G425 driver and while at the range I put the club back in my bag with the head cover off as I was mid session. Well I had one of my alignment sticks in there and it put a light scratch across the head from about midway out towards the toe. It is slightly visible after wiping it off with my wet towel. With the mat black finish, is there anything I can do that can work that scratch out without sanding the entire top of the club? I was thinking of using a brown paper bag as a buffing process. I don't have a buffing wheel. Any advise would be greatly apricated.

    How is an 8i in X-Stiff SOFTER than the a 9i/W shaft in Stiff? An 8i in a wedge is considered one soft step as most taper tips for wedges start at 9i. From everything I heard/was told, it requires THREE soft steps to reduce the flex one full flex. Isn't what you are doing called Tiger Stepping? If you want a slight softer and heavier shaft, wouldn't you want a Modus 130 8i in Stiff instead? This would give a heavier shaft, as well as be soft stepped once. I very well might be wrong here, so please set the record straight.

    Jim, I just heard about "spinner" shafts a couple days ago, then I found your video. Do you use the 8i tip trim in the stronger flex for all the wedges (butt trim for length) or do you use the 8i shaft in the Gw, then 9i in the Sw, etc.? That's something that I'm not sure about.
    Love your videos!

      From what I understand, you would or could use that 8 iron in all of your wedges assuming you are looking for more spin.
      What you suggest is already the case, The 9i shaft will probably already be in your sw and lw as the 9i shaft is the one that goes in 9-lw typically. For me, I'm think about trying this my set might look like s300 3-P, then in my 3 wedges, x100 8i shaft butt trim to wedge length. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong as I've not tried it and always only played s200, s300 and s400 wedge shafts in my wedges. I'm still researching it too.

    If I’m already playing an X flex in my iron shaft how would I do my spinner shafts?

    • @MichaelShinosky
      @MichaelShinosky 2 года назад

      Just soft step the x flex. So use an 8 iron shaft in wedge.

    • @habitualflipper5640
      @habitualflipper5640 Год назад

      @@MichaelShinosky You're misunderstanding the objective. To create a spinner shaft, you use the next flex up 8iron shaft. If you are x100 in irons, use an 8 iron x7 shaft in your wedges. The purpose is to create a stiffer shaft in your wedges that follows a smooth progression of flex in your irons.

      Tiger plays x100 in irons and s400 tipped in wedges. Just go down a flex or soft step the current flex you use in irons.

    • @tjmoore8493
      @tjmoore8493 2 года назад

      @@MichaelShinosky I understand that's what Tiger does but that is not what Jim mentioned to do, Head to (13:56) and you will understand why I said what I did. Either go up a flex in the 8 iron shaft to create a spinner shaft that weighs the same as your irons or if you have an aggressive transition to go up in both weight class and flex if you desire a slightly heavier club.

    • @MichaelShinosky
      @MichaelShinosky 2 года назад

      @@tjmoore8493 All a spinner is a more active tip section by soft stepping. I'm pretty sure using an 8 iron in the same flex as irons will have the same results.

    Vokeys used to be beautiful. Why do all wedge manufacturers stamp bounce on clubs? Only possible utility of such a thing is if You own or carry more than 1 wedge of, let's say, 56 degrees. I'll stick with Japanese wedges, none of which have succumbed to this stamped bounce nonsense. All US manufacturers march in lock step
