    I'm a 31 - year old from Papua New Guinea who just started playing 2 months ago. I've been scouring the internet for tips on how to get better in the quickest way possible. After 6 weeks of PAIN, I discovered ZGM two weeks ago and have binge-watching and implementing the instructions every day at the range since. In 2 WEEKS, yes 2 weeks, I'm delighted to say I've gone from being a "tree-hugging" guru during rounds to effortless iron striking right down the centre of the fairway with that oh so sweet compressed and effortless feel. Thank you Markus and ZGM!!!
    This video addresses one of the things that I'm noticing though. I can strike the ball very well from my PW to my 4i but my 3i hasn't been the same. I now understand perfectly why this is the case.
    If someone has the second part to this video, please direct me there. Thank you again!!!! 😄

    This describes my irons perfectly, so I’m certainty looking forward to part 2! It’s roughly a 10m difference between my predictable shorter irons, but 5-3i seem to be little or no gains when I would have expected slightly more per club. After years away from the game I’m getting back to the range weekly, working on leaving my dreaded over-the-top-chop and slice behind, with a swing around the body more and a path to right-field like you help illustrate with the hoop. When I get it right it feels great with nice shape, better ball speed and distance. Loving your videos from NZ and getting back into golf!

    I just wanted to say thank you for making your videos and using real people in them, like me. I haven’t played a round in over a month because of work and a new baby but I have been practicing using a net, the balance board, and visualizing my shot. I like most probably most weekend golfers try to hit the ball straight. Today I didn’t try to do that once and I played probably the best round of my life. Today I didn’t think once about hitting the ball or be upset after a poor shot. I just thought about if the ball did what I visualized. Huge game charger for me. So again thanks for the videos and keep them coming.

    This is exactly what I needed. When I get to my 7 iron it goes left. (Left handed golfer). I never understood it. I learned to turn my wrists down when I get to my 7 iron and above before impact and it goes straight… never understood it until now… with the 7 iron and above I’m coming in with an open clubface so when I close those down with my wrists it goes straight. 8 iron and below I can do normal swings.

    You hit perfectly straight shots by getting the face and path perfectly aligned at impact. But your not a machine and getting these perfectly aligned every shot is impossible. But you need to: 1.) Get control of the face and the path. 2.) Accept that your not a machine and getting these perfectly aligned every shot is impossible, your ball is going to curve, either right or left, almost all the time, based on you swing tendencies. 3.) Strive for alignment perfection but play golf allowing for the shot shape you tend to hit.

    Path dictates starting point NOT curvature…club face dictates curvature NOT path. Only thing I disagree with this video on. I hope that didn’t confuse people. If you hit out to the right that means in to out path the ball will start right doesn’t mean it will draw unless you close the club face through impact and put draw spin on it, if you leave it square it will push if you leave it open it will fade all will start right of target but club face dictates the curvature NOT swing path. The opposite for hitting across the ball, out to in swing path starts the ball left of target , club face will dictate it’s curvature from that point on.

    • @GRFGolf
      @GRFGolf  Год назад

      Face primarily influences start line and path dictates curvature. You're quoting the old ball flight laws.

    Im a 9 handicap and my long irons anywhere but off the tee are a PROBLEM. I can hit 6 and down off fairway no problem but if it's a 5 or 4 iron it's a consistent thin. It makes me layup on 200 yard shots which is literally me hitting sand wedge back to back. Hitting my long irons well would help me so so so much to drop 2-3 shots a round

    There’s one simple reason why I can’t hit long irons and even hybrids. It’s got nothing to do with length of the club, or the loft of the club, and definitely not my swing! Its always the lie angle!!! After a year of frustration playing golf and never being able to hit anything more than a 6 iron, I went and bought shoes with an extra two inches of lift… and sure enough I started crushing my long irons!

    This would be a good explanation if I also hit my long irons poorly. But I actually hit my 3-4 irons well-straight and long. I shank the hell out of my 5-6 irons, and sometimes my 7 iron. And then I hit my 8-PW very well. If my swing was messed up across the board, which is the explanation provided in the video, it would be even more obvious with my 3-4 irons. But there doesn’t seem to be a problem with those. I guess I’ll keep searching.
