  • Why do all my golf clubs go the same distance. This is one of the most common questions I get asked as a golf coach. In today's video golf tip Brian Fitzgerald the golf doctor shows you very simply why all of your golf clubs go the same distance and what you need to do to fix it.
    ==============================================================================
    ✅🔴✅ My NEW Ultimate Indoor Putting Course can be found at:
    www.thegolfdoctor.com.au/ulti...
    There are over 50 videos and 2 hours of content on how to improve all aspects of your putting at home using a putting mat or a strip of carpet.
    There is a sections devoted to putter fitting, the 5 most common putting grips, putting mechanics and even green reading training at home. Not to mentions specific training drills for start line, speed control, and improving putting under pressure.
    I filmed the entire course in my kitchen so you can easily replicate it somewhere in your home.

    My name is Brian Fitzgerald - I'm an Australian full time golf coach living in Melbourne and coaching at two venues. The Morack Public GC in Vermont South and the Lang Lang GC in beautiful South Gippsland (An hour and a quarter from Melbourne) where there are lot's of Kangaroos.
    FAQ:
    How long have you been a golf coach? I qualified as a full member of the Australian PGA back in 1985. Wow I don't feel that old.
    Why do you make videos for RUclips? That is a great question and one I get asked a lot. I love helping people play better golf and people tell me I have a very unique coaching style that is very simple to understand. We really should do things simpler. I just make them to help people and if people like my videos they can either come for a golf lesson in person or if that is not possible you could join my membership program and I can then view your golf swing or any part of your game and really help improve what you do.
    Do you always change some ones golf swing? To be perfectly honest I try not to. If I do try to change some ones golf swing I have to have a pretty good reason for doing so and the client has to be fully engaged and committed to both regular coaching and practice in order to make that change. Most people say they will do both with good intentions but most fall away pretty quickly.
    So my preference is to change things that will improve their score easily. There are so many different ways to do this.
    What do you film with? - I have a few few different cameras I use. An old GoPro Hero 4, an iPhone 6 and iPhone X, A Sony ZV1 and an old Panasonic Handy cam (I'm using that less and less now). I record my sound on an old iPhone 4.
    What do you edit with? - About a year ago I switched to Adobe Premiere - prior to that it was Pinnacle Studio
    Do you make money off RUclips? - Yes.It took me over 100 videos to make my first total $100 off adsense and then another 50 videos to make my next $100. I think it will slowly change, but VERY slowly.
    I really enjoy your videos, how can I support you? - Here's my ko-fi where you can buy me a coffee, beer or a burger should you wish (kind of like giving me a tip via : ko-fi.com/thegolfdoctor
    Thanks for watching!

    Had this problem for about 3 wks,2 yrs ago.mayb 20yds between 9 and 4 irons.Eventually traced it to sciatica keeping me from fully turning thru impact.Quitting for good was an option,loosening up b4 round saved it.cheers.

    This literally changed my ball flight 100%. I took lessons last winter and was told to have a strong grip and now my lead wrist. Helped my slice, but all my irons went about 110-120 tops. Just went to practice were I hit to a fence that’s about 100 yards away. Took out by five iron, which I can never hit. I rolled my wrists on the way back and through with a more neutral grip. It was probably thirty yards above that fence! No idea on the distance but it was by far the longest 5 iron I’ve ever it. Total game changer! You may have saved my game! Not exaggerating.

    Great advice Brian. I have the exact same problem and thanks for making the video. The explanation was accurate and I will go to the driving range and practice now. I hit between 125-150 yards with a 3, 5 or 7 irons. I subscribed and would love to learn more from you. Ferd from Canada.

      fitzygolfpro so went over the range and realized my setup was all wrong. Swinging and shifting weight like a baseball swing. Sternum was off centred of ball and my club at impact was open. Video taped myself in slow mo to validate my mistakes. My swing for 3,5,7 is pretty much the same approach and dynamic loft is the same regardless of what iron I used.
      Will review the videos you got.

      Be fine. The distances between clubs should increase.

    I've noticed my 5 wood, 5 and 6 iron go about the same. My 7, 8, 9, PW and GW all have different distances. My gap is for 90-100 yards, pitching is 100-110, 9 is 115-125, 8 130-140 and 7 145-1555/160. But 5 wood, 5 and 6 iron all go about 170 unless I hit off a tee.

      The good news is you now know why.
      Just work on releasing the club and there should be more distances between clubs. It should be around 7meters or 8 yards.

    A great tip here, I am going too say for the past few months I have so been trying to change my shot from a fade to a draw, I have been getting there from changing my swing path but also I have been taking away my club on the back swing and keeping it closed, what I have noticed since the change at the range like on 20 percent of my shots are a clean contact the other 80 percent feel horrible and vibrate through the club any tips for me please, sub added :)

    • @fitzygolfpro
      @fitzygolfpro  Год назад +1

      I don't recommend people change their shot shape as most of this is set in our DNA and our motor patterns are set.
      Certainly learn to hit hooks so you can escape from trouble when you need it.
      My advice is stick to the fade.
      Having given over 35,000 golf lessons I have seen only a handful of people successfully change from hitting a fade to a draw. That is not great odds.
      If you choose to continue on your journey in search of your draw......
      Look at things like ball position, low point control in your swing and your angle of attack.

    OK well this kinda makes logical sense, why are there so many vids out there telling everyone not to under any circumstance open or fan the club in the takeaway ? without doing that this move would be impossible would it not ? club surely has to open some for the rotation to happen.

      @fitzygolfpro  Год назад +1

      I am glad you enjoyed the video and it helped you in your understanding of the problem.
      You ask a good question about why so many people make videos on not allowing the club face to rotate (on both sides of the swing),
      I can;t answer that and to be honest I don't watch any other RUclips coaching videos.
      I just stick to my lane and do what I do every day using my 29 years of coaching experience and helping over 30000 golfers over this time.

      Hi Sean.
      This would go a long way to answering that problem.
      Your club face is staying square to your target and not the path after impact.
      I explain it in the following video. I use an iron in this example but the concept is the same with a driver.
