  • Casual car vlog sharing how I figured out my career & what to do with my life. This was unplanned so it's messy & I didn't share all the details or tips that I could have. But hope you still got something from it nonetheless 🙃 Your early twenties are a time for self discovery and figuring things out (aka "soul searching). But it's also a beautiful time to decide HOW you want to create yourself and your life. That's what being an "artist of life" means.
Begin your artist of life journey by taking control of your life and realizing that you can shape yourself & your life how you want it.
🌟 Check out the Create Your Dream Life Course: lavendaire.com/...
→ I created this as the course I wish I had when I was lost in my early twenties. These are all the life lessons I've learned about creating yourself + your dream life over the past 7+ years. Back then, I was frustrated that there wasn't a step-by-step program to guide me to figure myself & my life out, so now I've created one for you!
→ This course will guide you to discover yourself, build a success mindset, get clear on what you want, make a plan of how to get there and enjoy creating your dream life.

"I've always been a good student, I knew how to get good grades and do well in school because there was a syllabus and homework and guidelines, and I felt like I had the rules set out and I knew how to work within the rules, but when life happened, I was like, there are no rules to life, it's too open-ended that I don't know what to do with my life."

I’m in my late thirties and wish I had this advice in my twenties. I am now on a different path and spent many years struggling due to not finding my passion. But one piece of advice for those of you still searching, if you love your job but find that it doesn’t tick all the boxes, you can still have side hustles and hobbies or even volunteering on the side to fulfill other parts of yourself. Especially if you feel like it would be too tough to leave your job completely.

    • @theluschmasterjournals
      @theluschmasterjournals 5 лет назад +9

yes .. also one of the encouragement I wish I had received when I was younger would have been to explore side hustles while I had my first job because I think it was after that job that I just became more confused at people throwing jobs, learnerships and studies at me that I had no passion for .. which, I guess had me jumping from job to job .. but also, I probably had to go through those things to learn certain things about myself and the life that I am supposed to live ..
      thanks for sharing ..!

I'm still on the way finding my new path, by doing different things like taking course, travel more, meet more people... Dont know if it success to be honest, but i dont regret at all. Just take it on move and see how :).

Ok, this is so relatable. I become bored with my 9-5 job so I went to learn how to bake cake. But I could not make anything out of it. I tried some other things too... I thought something was wrong with me. But I guess it's because I've not discovered what brings me joy and gives me pleasure.
But few months ago I started journalling and I'm beginning to have clarity, a lot have changed for me so far. Though I'm not where I want to be but I'm getting there.

You are so inspiring and so sincere! Thank you for this vlog! I watched a bunch of videos on this topic and didn’t want to spend another 15 minutes for the talk I’ve heard from every video but I am glad I turned on yours! I am in this situation where I was supposed to get a job in tech that I took courses for but realized that I really don’t want to go in that direction... I used to work for a company and I felt the same way as you describe it. I remember coming home drained and disappointed with understanding that I work hard, get almost nothing for it. I did something I don’t like and after all had no energy and time to make a change because of my family situation at that time.... I don’t want to go back...I also feel more like a creative person. I had a couple of jobs in the creative field and enjoyed it so much. So, I want to figure out my way in this direction. Thank you for sharing your story❤️ Wish you the best!

When you said that you were 23 when you wanted to do this and no one supported you, I felt that so much. Even in your twenties, people will still see you as a child, especially when you declare that you're going to chase "some silly dream." I can't thank you and emphasize enough how you followed that up by saying that you believed in yourself and what you wanted to do. I just told my husband recently, "Whatever I want to do, I need to just do it. I can't expect anyone else to believe in me if I don't believe in myself." And a light bulb came on. We are the only thing keeping ourselves from doing what we want to do. It's not easy, but getting started and keeping your eye on the prize when no one else believes in you is the number one thing in pursuing a passion.
Sorry, I had a moment. In short, thank you so much for not giving up on YOUR dreams because now they provide the nutrients to essential for all of US (your subscribers) to grow. Thank you.

My God! I can't believe how close to home this is for me. I made music all my life with a RUclips channel, hated touring or playing live and kind of kidded myself into thinking I loved music more than I did. That was until I picked up a camera and feel in love with photography and video making. 6 months in and hit 1k subs and even though I'm earning nothing yet, I know this is right. Thanks for making this as it just made me feel even more confident than I already was in what I am doing. Also to add, people think I am a lunatic when I try and explain what I am doing so I stopped trying to explain and just have to show them the results.

I appreciate this video because i struggle with this question if what am i doing with my life more often then i should be. I am 27 and I find that im stuck, I work a 9-5 in healthcare and i began doing that to give me an idea of what industry i wanted to go into after I left working retail and cosmetic retail for 8+ years. Same as you I want to do things that are meaningful in peoples lives and to this world, but i want to do what makes me truly happy on the inside. I think I’ve figured it out, Which is being an aesthetic RN, it takes a lot of time and dedication but I feel this is truly what I should doing. Still daydreaming though and trying to align the dots.....

I relate SO MUCH. I feel like I’m constantly trying to figure out my life, especially since I gave up my dream of pursuing a degree/ career in fashion design.
It was similar to how you felt about music. The physical demands, the time required, the emotional toll on me... I was like “This isn’t how I want to live my life.” And that was scary, because I was 4 classes away from graduating and I told everyone since I was 9 years old that I was going to be a fashion designer.
One of my favorite quotes from the fabulous Tyra Banks: “You may have dream, like being a singer... but it ain’t the calling, baby.” I’m in that state where I’m trying everything and using my intuition through those paths to determine if this is aligned to my calling.
Thanks for this vlog-type version of your usual advice videos, Aileen/ Lavendaire 💕✨ It’s good to know that I’m not alone and that it is still possible to figure out what I want to do with my life.

I am in my early thirties, battling depression. I've lived in 8 countries, studied 3 degrees and worked in various financially rewarding jobs. I still can't find any job I want to marry for life, the same way I cannot find a guy I would like to marry for life. Jobs are like people. You like a part of them, not the whole. Or you like a few at the same time and end up depressed and confused because you don't know which path to choose or which person to settle with. And this keeps going. For me trial and error doesn't really work. This doesn't guarantee that you will find that "something" you're looking. Simply because that might not exist! And at this point you have to comprise, which can mean lifelong depression.

I comment very very rarely, but OMG GIRL! I was doubting whether to sign up to your course because of the additional taxes in Europe the price increased by approximately 20%. But after seeing this video my heart calmed down. It's my favorite video of all the time made by you. It sort of spoke directly to me as I am graduating from high school this month. I even think I'm more excited than you are about the course!
Sending you lots of love ♡♡♡ :)

Yes, I agreed every things that lead our path maybe tough and failure. But failure doesn’t mean we not able to achieve but at least we tried and tested the career. If we find joy we able to sustain and move on. Along the way we modify the failed part and do it better. Thank you for sharing and hope we all achieve towards our path :)

I'm 24 years old, graduated. I work in a job that doesn't have to be a college graduate. I don't know what I like, I don't know what I'm good at. I've been stagnothing in this job for five years. Your videos really give me hope and motivation. But I still don't know what to do. Maybe I should just be one more in the office... idk

Maybe apply for some different jobs and see where it takes you? Could be fun to try other things! If you have a degree and work somewhere where its acutually not even needed, it sounds like you could always come back to that kinda job. And i mean if it didnt make you happy till now, thats not gonna change

@@marialenz5207 You right. Change, bring fear. What holds me in this job is fear, thought, " if I don't get a new job. I need the money to invest in myself, like schools to learn languages. And pay student funding" its hard

I was good in uni too. Following the tasks and briefs and cameout with very good grads. But after graduation I just feel useless. The portfolio I thought was good didn’t get me anywhere for over half a year. The moment I finished uni I went from -I need a little break- to break too long I don’t know what to do with my self other than sending out emails for job it got to a point I didn’t create anything new for so long it terrifies me to make a start again

Since this talks about failing and learning, I want to share a bit of my story.
I had just graduated from school, with good grades, I didn't really know what to do but I had a sabbatical, I did some carfts and stuff, but I still didn't do much because I was very undisciplined, then my parents asked me what I wanted to study, I didn't really know but since I was in school when people asked me I said 'architecture' so that's what I did, I went to college to study architecture (colleges in Peru work different, here you pick a career first), and it was hell, I did well on the basic classes but always failed on the most important one, I didn't have many friends, I mean, I kinda did but they all had their own group and I wasn't a part of any, and since I was struggling with social anxiety I always ate my lunch alone in the hallway, at the end of the second semester I decided to leave the career because I felt like I was giving it all I could and it wasn't enough. I left a note for my parents because I couldn't tell them face to face, they were very understanding (my dad was just worried that I wasn't quitting just because of the money, it was kind of expensive) so I had another break, I had no idea of what to do, after a while my boyfriend broke up with me because of something really stupid that I did, I started working at a hotel, it was something totally new, it was stressing but the people were really cool (except for one dude who tried to kiss me but that's another story) eventually the stress and some other stuff made me quit (I was 19 at the time, I made up with my boyfriend) then I had another break, I started looking for ways to become more organized and live better, then we wanted to get married but we had no money, I started looking for a job and then my parents asked me once more what I wanted to study, and since I had time to learn about myself and what the careers were about, I ended up choosing graphic design, it's my first semester right now, I'm 21 but I feel more mature, I feel like I've changed a lot, and I know it's just my first semester but I really feel in my zone, I felt a lot more prepared this time and...I'm happy 😊
