@@SugarSpunRun Thank you! So I did, and it came out perfect. My daughter loved it, so did her sisters (I have four girls). Twas a small 3-tier cake and it was gone before I knew it. :)
My 1st time making a confetti cake.. the occassion was my grandaughter's 1/2 year birthday ...I. used this recipe.. followed it to your exact measurements and instructions...My cake was PERFECT..Thank you so much..🍰♥️
I had exactly nine eggs yesterday when I decided to make this cake so you can imagine my anxiety while cracking, separating, and beating into stiff peaks😂. All I could think about were those massive amounts of other ingredients that would be wasted if I failed. Happily, this cake turned out beautifully and was delicious! I shared with friends and got good feedback. Thanks for another recipe that will go into my recipe box🎉
I would actually recommend using my white cupcake recipe and adding sprinkles to that. The cupcakes tend to shrink in on themselves when using this recipe. For the vibrant colors, I like to use Americolor food gels. :) ruclips.net/video/i5mhvK5dwmc/видео.htmlsi=Uk6Gj6xN01_VA1B5
Unfortunately I am not very familiar with using gluten free ingredients so I can't say for sure how it would work. Let me know how it goes if you do try it. :)
Another must try for me. I'll have to figure out the oil situation, though. I don't mess around with them. I'll probably try ghee. How bad can more butter be?
If you consume avocado oil, od recommend that. Solid fats will cause the cake to be less moist. Olive oil could work too, but will give it definitely impart a olive oil taste
Would you be willing to do a one later reciepe version for this cake please? (I am not good at math so I can't just figure it by "half" ing the reciepe. Lol. Please?
O! If you’re looking for a smaller cake, check out my white cake. It’s the same recipe without the sprinkles. 😊 sugarspunrun.com/the-best-white-cake-recipe/
Omg, what a gorgeous cake! No matter how old I get I will always love confetti cake ☺🌈 I just recently made a batch of confetti cupcakes for a party that was nearly the same, just subbing whole milk greek yogurt for milk (because we don't keep whole milk on hand and I wasn't about to ruin a batch of cupcakes and dry them out with 2% milk 🤣).
This will be our new birthday cake recipe. I have 6 babies. So we’ll be having plenty of it lol! Always make their cakes from scratch and this just looks perfect! 💜💜.
Thank you for the recipe i just made this cake yesterday it came out great your buttercream ingredients is that a double batch im making my granddaughters birthday cake .
This buttercream uses about 50% more powdered sugar and more heavy cream so similar but the proportions are just slightly larger, but not quite doubled. 😊
You can make it two layers. You’ll want to cut the ingredients by 33%. Some of the measurements may be tough to reduce that way so you may just want to discard any excess batter
I have used previous recipes and they came out great! I am going with this recipe for a special day. I'd like to bake ahead of time so the day of I can focus on decorating that being said... will this freeze well if so do I freeze after cooling or while warm? And well it stay moist?
I was recommended this recipe from a reddit post under the best vanilla cake recipes. It's my first time baking a real cake, so I'm a little nervous so as not to mess this up. Cheers 🎉
My 4 year old daughter says, "I like that cake and I hope you can come over and look at the cake you made and that mommy made and I hope you can come to my party and taste the cake that my mommy makes for my birthday. I like your recipes and I like watching your videos and I like everything you make. Thank you for the videos that you have on mommys phone." She loves watching your videos! 🥰
This looks amazing! I need to bake a sprinkle cake for my great neice's 8th birthday party next week. She has a specific design in mind. I need a two layer cake for 35 people. I was going to do two layers each of 6 & 8 inch round pans. I guess I will double this recipe and use the left over batter for cupcakes! Any idea how I would calculate this?
This cake would actually come close to making enough batter for 2 8 inch and 2 6 inch layers. You'd be roughly 1/2 cup of batter short so you may have slightly thinner cakes, but if you don't need the excess cupcakes I would probably just make it as is. :)
Heads up to everyone who loves yolky recipes and doesn't want to discard egg whites or make another recipe right away. Egg whites freeze beautifully. I once saved 10 whites over a few months and the meringue still whipped up well enough for angel food cake. (Might not use them for something finicky like macarons, but ymmv.)
Hi 👋 I am a new subscriber. The cake looks delicious and I will try the recipe. I have to ask why you do not use your stand mixer for making this? Is there some reason that would not be better?
Happy to have you here! You can absolutely use a stand mixer. I typically just use my electric mixer when making videos because it is easier for anyone watching to see in the bowl and see the texture of the batter etc. But I have made this with my stand mixer many times.
Hi chef👩🍳 this cake looks delicious but I have a request …can you make this cake smaller cause it way to big for us and I don’t want to freeze thank you for your answer 🙏♥️exemple…… 2 cake only
Hi! Yes, make my white cake instead and add sprinkles. That recipe is the same as this one, only scaled down to be a 2 layer cake: ruclips.net/video/bIpUxYd8gqY/видео.html
You are welcome to use more frosting between the layers, the recipe makes plenty. Feel free to adjust the amount as you like, I did not want more than shown as I put quite a bit on top for decoration and didn’t want the amount of frosting to be overwhelming ☺️
Finally a recipe that does not use buttermilk. Will be trying this for my daughter’s birthday tomorrow.
Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome! Enjoy and happy belated birthday to your daughter! :)

Looks beautiful, how many peope does it serve?
It is a rather large cake, but I say you can safely get 14 slices out of it. :)
Thanks for this recipe it's really good

Would corn oil work for this recipe? It's the only cooking oil my family and I buy.
I haven't tried it, but it should work!
Hi what a fantastic cake defo going to bake this one plz can you tell me what size eggs you used medium or large thank you
I hope you love it! Use large eggs here. 😊
This looks great, do you know how many cupcakes it would make? What type of food coloring did you use for the pink frosting? It's so bright!!

Hello, I would like to be able to transform this cake into a gluten-free cake, is it possible?
Thank you for the recipe!!
Unfortunately I am not very familiar with using gluten free ingredients so I can't say for sure how it would work. Let me know how it goes if you do try it. :)
Can you use the batter to make an oreo cake
Another must try for me. I'll have to figure out the oil situation, though. I don't mess around with them. I'll probably try ghee. How bad can more butter be?
I think you can replace oil with applesauce in baked goods pretty universally. Might be worth a shot.
If you consume avocado oil, od recommend that. Solid fats will cause the cake to be less moist. Olive oil could work too, but will give it definitely impart a olive oil taste
The combination of oil and butter is what makes this cake so moist and flavorful. All butter would yield a dryer cake.
I have to try this! ❤thank you so much!! 😊 love all of your recipes btw.
I hope you love this one too!
Would love to see the hard working chickens behind your recipes 😊

Could I do the reverse creaming method for this cake?
I haven't tried it, but I think it would be doable here. :)

This will freeze well and should remain moist. You will want to let the cakes cool COMPLETELY before freezing. :)

Hey I forgot to ask, can I use caster sugar instead of granulated? Do both sugars weigh the same?
Caster sugar will work, but I'm not sure on the weights. I believe caster sugar is a bit heavier.
9 tablespoon of butter is how many grams?
127 😊
Really happy i found this. Tomorrow is my friends birthday and he wants confetti cupcakes so i hope they turn out well with this ❤

Do you have a recipe for a smaller size cake?
I do not. It can just be scaled down to suit your needs. :)
@@SugarSpunRunhow do you scale down/up? I’m trying to make a 3 layer 10” and 3 layer 12”
Did u mix d egg white with anything?
You just whip the egg whites by themselves and then they get folded into the cake batter.
Heads up to everyone who loves yolky recipes and doesn't want to discard egg whites or make another recipe right away. Egg whites freeze beautifully. Sam, can I use duck eggs? Will the whites beat up like the whites in chicken eggs? I have honestly never tried…
I haven't tried this either, so I really can't say. I know duck eggs are larger though, so it will be difficult to know how many to use.
A cake of our dreams.
It's a classic!
Do you happen to have any recipes for a really good coffee frosting?? I'm looking for one for mother's day
I don’t yet, sorry! I will add it to my list to work on, though!

Mm mm it's so pretty i mean i have a birthday kit kat like it's good 😊
Can the recipe be reduced for a smaller batch?
Yes, or you can just toss some sprinkles into my white cake recipe. That's the same as this cake, but with two layers instead of three 😊
I cannot wait to make this ☺️ what is 9 tbsp butter in grams please? Also sam, could you kindly make coffee buttercream?
127g, I will add a note to the recipe!

Has anyone tried this with Almond extract in place of vanilla?
You could use almond extract but you'll want to use less as it's much more potent. :)

Yummy 😋 from Barbara
Thank you!
I’d rather not have bright white cake… never… never imitation vanilla 😝
Totally fair! The tip is for people who are looking for bright white, but true vanilla works equally well. I often use my homemade vanilla. ☺️
Where's the eggs
You need 9 egg whites here. You can see them being used in the video.
Hi Sam how are you I’m Laura I’m going to make this😢
I hope you love the cake Laura! 💕
For the. Size of your cake , it needed much more filling in it . When you showed us the slice it looked all sponge and very little filling
You are welcome to use more frosting between the layers, the recipe makes plenty. Feel free to adjust the amount as you like, I did not want more than shown as I put quite a bit on top for decoration and didn’t want the amount of frosting to be overwhelming ☺️
Hate the "music"! Love the vid.
