For some reason, the cake was dry despite strictly following the recipe. Is there anything that you suggest to make the cake more hydrated, e.g., perhaps I should cook it at a lower temperature for the smaller sized pans? Thanks so much :D so butter has a higher fat content, so it'll make your baked goods more moist and stay moist for longer. It's also firmer because of this so provides a little more structure to cakes (especially when creamed). In some recipes the difference may have more impact, and in others, less of an impact - just depends on how the batter is prepared :)

You're so welcome! :) Yes the sprinkles are soft when baked and they do add a little extra sugar, so to combat that I've reduced the sugar in my white cake recipe for this cake :)
