And it actually started leaking through the buttercream on the outside of the cake. It was good. But a Fail in construction of the cake. Which I figured out how to keep filling from leaking through. So just looking for a thicker raspberry mixture

I made the strawberry reduction tonight!! It was so good!! I’m in the USA and we typically don’t go by grams, etc but I did using my scale. I can’t wait to start the cake and frosting tomorrow!!
This is the first (and only) cake recipe by MK that i've tried so far. And my oh my, it turned into one of the best cakes i have ever had, made for Eid and everyone loved it! I used strawberry emulco instead of extract since that was what i was able to find. I also used frozen strawberries (just took a bit longer to reduce). I still can't get over how delicious it was. I don't usually bake cakes much but i will definitely continue to bake your cakes for any special occasions. Excited to try more recipes ❤❤❤
This is an extraordinary cake! Moist and delicious all the way through, but the biters with filling are divine. I always exceed the time commitment stated in recipe by hours! Fortunately I’m not in a race, and one taste of this one justifies the time spent. Love your recipes and your easy to follow instructions. I need a strawberry cake recipe so this is the one I’ll be using! You are my most trusted cake baker cos I know you test things so many times and everything I have tried from you has been delicious! ❤️
For the strawberry goo, I prefer to use arrowroot instead of cornstarch because cornstarch has a really distinctive taste I can't help noticing; arrowroot works really well with fruits so it'd be ideal here (but not so well with dairy so I do still use cornstarch for that). You need to use 1/3 of the amount of arrowroot vs cornstarch to thicken it the same amount (so if the recipe needs 3 tsp of cornstarch you'd only use 1 of arrowroot), but it's prepped the same way; make a slurry of one part powder and two parts cool water before adding to the mix. 🎉 Gorgeous and delicious cake as always!
There's another way to get that strawberry flavor into the sponge without using an extract. If you take a cup of strawberry puree (which is about 1lbs of hauled strawberries) then reduce it down to to 1/2 cup that'll get it in there. The reduced puree will look like a paste. This is something you can do the day before because it does need to be room temp to incorporate with the rest of the ingredients. The recipe I follow comes from a creator I've followed before I came on to YT. She once had her own shop. I'm telling you. That cake taste like you're eating a strawberry shake 😋 Because some strawberries aren't red enough (though the paste is pretty red, lol) the only thing you'll have to add, only if you want to, is a little bit of red dye. Not trying to take anything from your recipe. Just wanted to share another way...

I made the cake...haven't tasted it yet...my helpers couldn't control themselves and tasted the raw batter and said the batter was yum...this is frickin insane....I literally got the exact amount of strawberry filling in the recipe following these directions. The cream cheese frosting was bomb (my preference is not overtly sweet and don't like american buttercream).
Story time: So as a child growing up the church functions and picnics were my favorite times because of you guessed it lemon and STRAWBERRY CAKE! So, as an adult I tried to look for a recipe. Well, I was dismayed to find out majority of recipes use strawberry jello. I did not want jello in my strawberry cake. It took my a few months before I found one. I found a recipe in a magazine (this shows how long ago this was!) It was labor intensive. I made it for my friends. It has been 12 years and they still talk about that cake to this day. I am so UPSET because I lost the clipping from the magazine. (SOBBING) so finding this video is wonderful!!! Real strawberry cake! WOO HOO!!!!!

I don't know why, but my strawberry compote always leaks out and makes my cake layers slide. I even do a thick outer layer of icing and put a thin layer of strawberry compote in the middle and it still spills out the sides. I just had to stop adding compote in the layers and just drizzle it over top of the cake. Yours turned out lovely!

Heya! :) Hmm so the egg whites are quite a large part of this recipe, so I'm not sure how subbing with yoghurt would affect the cake. You could probably also try another eggless vanilla cake recipe you like and use that as the base and add in the extra strawberry filling and flavouring :) and I think adding in vinegar with yoghurt should be fine :)

4:36 if i don't want eggs involved can I add yogurt ? But later you are adding vinegar so will yougut go bad if added with vinegar
