I had never made a cake using reverse creaming method. I always started with butter and sugar. I made this cake today and everyone in my family noticed the difference in the texture. It's amazing how same ingredients put together with a different method results in a new texture. Thanks for teaching this method. ❤

I made this for a friend's birthday and everyone ADORED it. ESPECIALLY the icing. The icing is a game changer for caramel lovers! Even my baker friend, who was skeptical of this way to make caramel, asked for the recipe!! The cake was a little dense for my liking, but that could have been a mistake on my end. But this icing was fantastic! Would put it on any cake!!

We used to call this type of frosting "penuche". Back in the 60's-70's, we would make a yellow cake and put "penuche" frosting on it. Penuche was a type of caramel fudge.

  • @chocolatepie84

I might make this for Christmas 🎄 The frosting looks like frosting or caramel fudge rather than a shiny caramel. I also like the idea of the reverse method. Makes life easier with baking and not messy at all.

I’ve always loved caramel and sweet things like this. And when they came out of the oven and let them cooled down I tried a little piece and I ended up eating half of the cake without even frosting it. When I frosted it was the best cake to ever exist. Another good reason to crack eggs into a separate container is in case any of them are rotten, as I found when I was once making a large celebration cake, I took this precaution just in case and amazingly one egg WAS rotten! It saved the whole cake by not cracking the egg straight into the mixture :)

wow looks so good.. for some reason, it is satisfying watching you cut the cake and eat it, it shows me the fluffy texture of the cake.
question: is it the same vanilla cake recipe as the other vanilla cake recipe in your classic vanilla cake video

Have been watching a ton of your videos and love them all! Could you tell me why you use whole milk in some cake recipes and buttermilk in others? Also, I noticed that in this recipe, you used the reverse creaming method, but not in your yellow cake recipe. Is there a reason for that? Can I use the ingredients in the yellow cake recipe and do the reverse creaming method for that one as well? I have baked for years, but never heard of the reverse creaming method. This is brilliant! Thank you!

You can see how moist it is,when you were icing the final layer. So without the icing,is this cake a regular one that you use or is it designed just for this recipe?

One question for the caramel filling: as it is made of butter , in room temperature will lead to be melted and be runny and lose it nice shape? Is it so?

That looks amazing! As for weighing out the batter for each pan, I actually do that. But then again, I also weigh out the dough for each individual cookie when making chocolate chip cookies. I know that's not normal, but I just prefer doing it that way XD

I thought I was the only who did that. I weigh my cookie dough to ensure each one is the same size and bakes evenly. I place a little square of parchment paper on the scale. Use a tablespoon to measure the first cookie and go off that weight for the rest. I’ve been making this browned butter chocolate chip cookie recipe lately it’s delicious. ruclips.net/video/oCt3xhKCX1k/видео.html

It’s sweet, but not overly sweet like you might expect. While the icing is definitely super rich, somehow it doesn’t seem overbearingly so when coupled with the cake. I hope you love it! ❤️

In this recipe for icing u wrote in written that 2 cups icing suger is equal 250 grams ( is this right or wrong)plz explain it
    I am confused 😐

    • @SugarSpunRun

1 cup of powdered sugar is only 125g as compared to granulated sugar which is 200g. The 250g is accurate for the 2 cups of powdered sugar. :)

@@SugarSpunRun I’m so happy for her, and all of you. I’m still waiting to see 2 new grandchildren who were born during this craziness. They live on the other side of the country. 🇨🇦 I made the cake for a meeting I was supposed to attend. It’s a very nice cake! The texture is so fine! The frosting reminds me of a square (bar for my American friends) that my mum made many years ago. They were called “fudge-topped” squares.
The meeting was cancelled so I sliced up the cake and froze the slices individually. Dessert for hubby and I for the week!! Thank you for this cake! I have my eye on what I want to try next! Blessings! ❤️
