    * Enough to cover a 6 inch 2~3 layer cake.
    100 g (1/2 cup) granulated sugar
    40 g (1/6 cup) water
    280 g (1 + 1/4 cup) unsalted butter
    *For a 7-inch, 3-layer cake, use 1.5 times the amount.
    Use twice as much for an 8-inch 3-layer cake or a 9-inch 2-layer cake.

      Is it stable? And did it melt quickly? I currently use Italian Swiss meringue buttercream and wondered if I can leave out the egg whites and use the same method... It looks like I can but wondering if it will hold up in hot temperature

      Hello, yes and let me tell you how I make icing sugar at home: it is simple. I use the grinder in my blender to grind ordinary sugar into icing sugar. It takes a few minutes. All the best!

    I will try this, my husband likes yellow cake plain, nothing in it and certainly no frostings and butter creams as they tend to rise the sweet scale to over the top. I plan on making this and applying a layer on top of the cake and adding fruits on top. I just can’t fathom giving him a plain non decorated cake

      Cupcake decoration is also stable. However, keep it cold in the refrigerator when working or storing in the hot season.

      Depending on the shape of the decoration, the amount of cream required may vary. You can make about 18~20 cupcakes in a normal shape.

    Would love to see keto friendly recipes as I'm doing a ketogenic diet and that's not a lot of dessert/ cake recipes with coconut flour. I say this because almond flour is way too expansive and I prefer the coconut flour one. Anyway, would love to see some low carb keto recipes from you if that's something you want to try!

    It was my first time making and trying buttercream and I dont think it worked out well. It tasted like pure butter 😢

      You might think it's not too sweet compared to the very sweet American butter cream. When applied to the cake, you will feel a subtle sweetness.

      Perhaps add some flavouring like vanilla if the flavour is too butter forward for you?

      The amount of caramel sauce added depends on your personal preference. Usually, 1/3 to 1/2 of the butter amount is used. In this recipe, it is around 90 to 140 g. Start with a small amount and adjust the amount of caramel to your preference.

      If you add cream cheese to this recipe, it's suitable for filling, but it might not be stable for decoration.

      It depends on the room temperature. It is expected to be stable at around 20 degrees Celsius for more than a day, but refrigeration is recommended if it is more than that.

      I've never used butter cream on top of whipped cream, so I can't exactly answer that. Maybe there will be some smudging with the moisture of whipped cream as time goes by.

      Typically, the body temperature is 36.5 degrees Celsius (97.7 degrees Fahrenheit).
      If you drop syrup on the back of your hand, like in the video, and you feel neither cold nor warm, you're ready to use it.

      Sugar syrup will fail if milk is used. Rather, I recommend reducing the amount of butter. Try 1 cup butter.

      You can cover the entire cake with this butter cream and decorate it. However, check the temperature where you are.
      This video was made in the summer. The cream started to melt because it was 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees).
      01:40 The video will show you how to work in hot weather. Refrigerate the finished cake and leave it at room temperature 30 minutes in advance. Hope it helps.

      I was wondering the same thing too. I’m pretty sure it tastes like sweet butter. So it will mostly have a strong butter flavor.

      Actually, I'm not sure what fat they use in the tropics, but in my experience, vegan palm shortening, coconut cream is possible, coconut oil is not possible.I'm sorry I couldn't give you any proper help.

      If you're asking the amount of vanilla essence, I recommend adding 2 teaspoons when beating butter in this recipe.
