Around a year ago I took ownership of this lovely K11 Nissan Micra
Same owner since 2003 - covering only 23,000 miles from new.
It really is a time warp and a testament to its former owner, Greta.
In this video Dad and I give the car a once over ready for a Pre MOT - This in turn ...Turned Into Concours Preparation

I would not use WD 40 on the hinges and locks because WD 40 has some cleaning properties. Thus removing the original grease front the lock and hinges mechanism .

Why do we love the underdog cars? These K11s are great, as are the Proton Iswaras and for me the Skoda Favorit and Felicias are up there too.😍

We used to have a 1997 orange K11 and we got rid of it in 2010 due to a dangerous amount of rust. Was a very good car when it worked and it handled snow surprisingly well.
They are brilliant little things but as you say the rot is sadly killing them :(
Superb car, taking it to shows sound like a plan, means hundreds of people can appreciate the gleaming newness

Loving the Micra K11 content! That one definitely looks like one you should keep, as long as you can get it in a garage for storage. Would be good to see a video on your three K11s together.

Your dad really needs to buy this Micra off you. He seems to really love it and it'll be something to put away in the garage and take to shows.

He’ll be putting his Micra love into the recommissioning of another one soon on the channel…. this is the standard to aspire to !
That js such a lovely micra Jon and is clear Pete loves it too still think he should find room in the garage! It’s come up really well and must be one of the best ones out there!

the legend smashed it jon,nice to see the micra inspector,they told me on mot for my k11they said corrosion underneath but just waxoil it or lanaguard and it is sound

Lovely thing this👍🏻 My tip; get a soft brush and a bit of APC in a cup and squidge those arches with it. Then rinse it off while brushing. This should get them squeaky clean. 😊

Would suggest that it's a keeper, Jon, given the condition/mileage, the ownership history, it being a close relative to your first car, and the obvious affection your dad has for it. Only problem is that it probably ought to be garaged to keep it as it is. Do you have the undercover space for it??? 😀

I think the car should be called “Margaret the Micra”…. it’s a nice “old lady” name and a certain “Iron Lady” called Margaret liked the colour Blue !
I expected the original tyres to be a Dunlop… for a while they were basically a Japanese brand and there was a Dunlop factory in the North East of England close to the Nissan plant….

I check my car before I take and have never needed to spend 100s to pass as its che checked often and parts replaced it avoids a huge bill

Did they ever do a diesel k11 I’ve got a strange feeling they used the 1.5 diesel out of the 106 in them

Not yet 😊 it's coming. I've sadly been so so busy with my day job and the naff weather that sadly we haven't pulled it out the garage yet. I absolutely promise it's coming soon though

What was the Date Stamp on the Tyres?
I can't remember the exact date stamp but they were the original ones 🤣
