Jenkins is a great lyricists and songwriter, one of my absolute favorites. "I want You"..."Motorcycle Drive By"..."God of Wine"..."How's it gonna Be"..."Deep inside of You" are so beautiful. I sure do miss Third Eye Blind, that first album is the soundtrack for my first heartbreak as an adult and in paradox, the best year of my life. Funny how that works out.
You don't have to miss them. They kept making music. Their latest album is amazing.
***** to be fair though they were better when Kevin Cadogan was co writing and arranging music with Stephen Jenkins...like way better.
Will Sheaks I like the latest album. I agree 100% on the 3rd one.
Fr man. Start to finish it was mine too.
ben wade they are still around dude.
The ‘90’s were so fucking good for me I graduated in 1997, I feel in love for the first time, I finally came out to myself then slowly everyone else. The music oh the music!
Nothing sounds more 90’s than the words “Alternative Rock”.
Stephan Jenkins is the most underrated lyricist of our time.
No I am.
Stephan was one of my favorite writers. "Out of the Vein" is still one of my favorite albums of all the time. It inspired me to be more descriptive and creative in some of my writings. The first time I heard the single "Blinded" I was floored. It was one of those songs that I remembered lyrically dissecting in my head. The only other song that I really remembered doing so was the first song that I'd ever heard from Biggie. Still a great album. I still listen to the mp3s and CD lol
Drop some bars, bro.
Mewithoutyou, counting crows, leonard Cohen, nick cave. Artists with great lyrics if youre interested in lyrics.
He's like a mix of Paul Rudd and Vince Vaughn
“Dodgeball 2” with Vince Vaughn, featuring Paul Rudd and Stephan Jenkins, would be a great title to cop from a multidimensional Redbox rn.
that guy is badass
I love you I was listening to you when I was like 8 or 9 or maybe younger, I didn't know what semi charmed kinda life was even about, until I lived it myself! Your fucking great!! Love you!!
I love listening “Rock Stars” commentary. It is good for my psychistration
i love the 90's born 1990
Love there new song "Company of Strangers"
Never heard an explanation put to why your songs switch pace so often, which I love. To get your say, huh? :) Makes sense. I can be um, wordy, too.
How are you doing? Thank you for being a fan and linking my page & music, may God bless. You... I sent you a request on here cause have been getting text from some of my fans about people claiming to be me i always see your comment and likes on my Twitter post, God has a reason for all purpose.......Have you been getting request from people claiming to be me......?
This guy looks a lot like Gerard Butler in 'Law Abiding Citizen' :O
Paul Rudd and Gerard Butler mash up.
its so strange. Pictures of stephen jenkins keep on like coming to me. I never really noticed him before but i can't help but think how lovely it would be to indulge in some ritual smoke, meditate together and have a little crystal baller action. I quit doing that in the 90s but... damn i really wish i'd have made it count.
he does NOT look 50
He was 33 back in 97 so he was no spring chicken.
I was 12 and thought he was the sexiest thing on the planet.
@@HenrieRzeznik Old starts at 38. Everything after that is just OldER
Goddamn, I'm in love with him.

@@stephenjenkins9961 You spelled your name wrong 👀
True story. First time I did crystal I had a HORRIBLE experience so I wouldn't touch it when all my friends got into it. Years later a friend insisted its more ethereal if you smoke it and it was imperative to a ritual he wanted to do. SO, i conceded. After the ritual smoking, he cast a circle. I sat in the center with my eyes closed. When he finished, he entered the circle and I opened my eyes. I could SEE his third eye and felt mine was exposed. The kicker...Id NEVER heard of 3rd eyes before
No no no you got it all wrong snort that shit man.
You were just really high. A 3rd eye is something that can't be seen.
I miss 90s music
Most of the people who are advocates of the 90s were students then, myself included. I thought it was a dire time musically, at least in the states. I found Britpop far more compelling. Live, Counting Crows, 3EB, etc were largely disposable.
Im digging the Britpop scene back in the day and obviously alternative rocks, there are/were so many great bands in the 90's
I toured with U2, he says, modestly.
I like how the japanese use smiley faces for hiragana
Pete Rock + C.L. Smooth
Agreed.
Here I was expecting him to start singing Running in the 90s
you know... i used to HATE people in interviews saying "uumm uuum" over and over until i was recorded and in every video i said "uuummm" over and over. i dont do that in normal conversation with another person so it is was weird to see/hear myself doing the same thing. odd isnt it? most of us do that when speaking to a camera alone, i wonder why.
If I had to guess I'd say it's because we don't get any visual feedback from a camera like we do with people's facial expressions.
That TRULY happened to me. So I guess there IS validity to drugs expanding your consciousness. Even today I don't understand exactly how he was able to trigger me seeing something I'd never heard of without saying so. BUT i also had dark experiences and eventually quit. BUT i do understand jenkys lyrics. When I heard he had a song called crystal baller i read the lyrics online. UNFORTUNATELY the whole song is not an entendre for methfukkin'™~ Just the title. maybe next time :D
i like how you use japanese hiragana for smiley faces
Stephan's always been mercurial and strange. This isn't the first or last really weird interview he's given, he has quite the track record for that, beginning with "MTV is like toast and jam in the morning." Only to say the EXACT same sentiment about Vanessa Carlton a few short years later.
Here's what I used to say about Jenkins to piss my friends off "better than Bob" said it to Stephen too and he said "asshole"
?
Backpacking in Europe????? Isn't that a cliche?????
It wasn't cliché yet in the 90s
Sigh must be nice!!!! Some of us were not that privileged, sad to say. Now living in squats I can identify with somewhat. In my teens- early adulthood I lived in some pretty nasty places, places that would have been better off being called squats, ROFLMAO!!!
a lot of people who live in countries that pay liveable minimum wages travel through Europe in their 20's. mostly Australians, and UK
He went from looking like Stephen Moyer/Paul Rudd to looking like Gerard Butler.
Came here to say that :)
Dr. Octagon
lowell
his best friend Kevin is the 90's
3eb has not fallen at all
er um uh um uh drugs r bad, mmkay? ツ ps alternative rock is a specific demographic that boasts a sense of rebellion to appeal to youths, though its really not that different musically. noawadays any guitar oriented band is alternative. and i say this as an alternativr rock artist. ツ
Jenkins ruined 3EB. Cadogan and Saloazar made that band. Long live XEB.
uh, you know he wrote the large majority of the songs right?
4reptar20 At least he did for the debut album, to which I still listen. Pretty good stuff!
Joe Coulter Jenkins is third eye blind.
No, Jenkins is a part of 3EB. Jenkins wrote the lyrics and basic song progressions, Cadogan dominated the song writing that made Third Eye Blind what they were, Salazar filled in the bass gaps with some pretty unconventional techniques. Check out XEB on Facebook, it's Cadogan and Salazar performing 3EB without that thieving coke head Jenkins.
Joe Coulter true ass fucking true.
No Paul Rudd and Jason Bateman
All this from the Jeremy Piven of modern music.
Dang. Looks like he was taking too many sips in his nose. But then again he was middle aged back in the 90's
yency left albert for nothing....
Nirvana
maybe by the end of Tosin Abasi's career, all of his records combined will have sold half of what third eye blind's first record did. Just saying, technical ability is not really as important as the impact your music makes in peoples lives and you have to keep in mind that most of the world pays attention to lyrics and voices primarily and music secondarily. Abasi is a very talented guy, but he's never going to reach people shredding on an 8 string guitar.
TheRickleTickle what does tosin abasi have to do with Stephen Jenkins?
Burzum
By that logic, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and The Beach Boys were all insignificant bands. Without The Beatles, you most likely would even have your precious Tosin Abasi. Did anyone ever claim that Third Eye Blind was an incredulously orchestrated, symphonic rock band? No. Generally, music is used to express emotion. I'm not saying Tosin Abasi is a bad musician, but don't go ratting on the emotional aspect of the music industry like TEB. Third Eye Blinds lyrics mean a lot to me, and you're offensive
I know this is old but someone was smearing Third Eye Blind just because they like Tosin?? I love em both, hating the beauty of TEB’s simple yet tasteful songwriting is not what Tosin’s music is about. He even said bands like Green Day and this is what got him into guitar in the first place. His playing and writing is supposed to be an immense celebration of music, people who think he’s showing off and that’s why it’s cool would probably ever be able to play like him. Might have their techniques up to speed, but as someone who’s pretty proficient with modern guitar techniques, that is not the only thing his music is about for him.
Doesn’t like 80s music!? Unacceptable.
Really? How many chords do "REAL" songs have? SMH.
He's annoying to talk with. He tries to be the over artsy and use big words.
Well he did graduate top of class in english lit at USC berkley.
He’s not trying to “be or sound like” he’s an articulate and educated musician,,, because he is in real life! 🙄
@@CharlesWhite-wh4cc Berkeley you say?.....hmm.
*_Trump fans don't likie Stevie._* 😂
BizWiz not true at all
GEEZUS Christ someone take this guy back to the 90’s for real, my mans lookin like a walking bag of mango pulp. Where tf is David Bromstad from HGTV to replace this grandpa?!?!?!.!?!
