While I've always loved 3EB, the way this guy treated his former bandmates would make Don Henley blush.
Agree! Am a huge 3EB fan but he’s so selfish, and seems like suffering from a Peter Pan syndrome.
He is so chaotic & well meaning I love it
He's never an easy interview. People don't realize he's not interested in talking about the first album at all. Best to only touch on the present and the future of the band if you're going to talk to him.
thank you
Too bad 99 percent of fans only care about the first album 😂
Just saw third eye blind a month ago in Santa Cruz, Ca what an amazing show they put on.
They still killing it in live shows
Why is the host acting like it is so weird the 1st album is "untitled" which it isn't, it is " self titled" which is super common for a debut album??
Thats what I thought?
I don’t know why h’s acting weird, but I can tell you that Stephen is one of the hardest people to get along with you’ll ever meet. Don’t really care if you believe me or not, but I can’t hold back from saying how it is in my experience.
Collective soul
OUT OF THE VEIN! MAN! You poured your soul into that album. I can't even comprehend how hard it was to write an album about break-up. Relieving everything together is a heart-wrenching moment to do. Those lyrics in OFTV are phenomenal; pure wisdom right there. I wish I could have the opportunity to drink a cup of coffee and ask multiple questions about the album, life, inspiration, etc. I feel you! All the best! ;)
stephan likely cant contemplate how hard it was to write either....thats why you might wanna ask eric godtland about it instead
i loved out of the vein for like 12 months, now its my least favorite album. it has to do with how they produced the album, namely the vocals. his voice stands out so far "in front" of the music in every single song, its almost like the focus is on Stephan and not the band. None of the other albums sounded like that, it just sounds weird to me
Our Bande Apart and Screamer are fantastic though, Kryz Reid is beast
@@joesaiditstrue Well, I guess it might have been a message to Charlize Theron. Look at the lyrics in "Forget Myself" or "Can't look away from you". Every album may have a different impact on you as a person. At one stage of your life you listen to Eddie Cochran, next time you are into Bon Jovi. That's just life, and music is just a reflection of your soul.
Out of the Vein is the golden early 2000’s in an album. It’s the most emotional listening experience an album has ever given me.
Too bad he couldn’t save his relationships with his other band mates. They would probably be more relevant and make a more profound statement about climate change goals if they stayed relevant. His ego got the best of him.
The band fell apart once he started backstabbing the more capable band mates. Such wasted potential.
Once he realizes the climate always has and always will change, he can cut the virtue signaling.
I'm not defending SJ, but man, i find it hilarious how so many people claim to know what went down. like, were you there as their road manager? how do so many people know all the intimate details that led to members of the band leaving? seems like we don't know a thing but what rumors we hear yet still decide to pick sides based on emotion and feeling, which puzzles me.
@@rickyiglesias5384 Underrated comment**
saw them in late 2000s in CT. The original lead guitarist was 'retiring', and SJ brought his 12 yr old son out to play on Never Let You Go. Doesn't seem like a guy who's bandmates hated him...
The host on the left needs to understand the difference between an untitled album and a self-titled album.
He must think Weezer has six untitled albums.
Love his music but I couldn’t spend more than 10 mins with him.
I think he's cool XD
@@Musulll I wish he was my uncle. He gives me cool, weird uncle vibes.
Kyaaarrrr! N.B.The way we find "Man made" "climate change" generally FRAMED is a TOTAL and UTTER FRAUD. OF course, "pollution" is one thing, however .... anyone care to engage in a FRIENDLY debate?
Why not
@@TheVerucAssault Uhh, ok. That didn't sound creepy or pedophilic all. Are you a priest or an alter boy by chance?
@2:33 “I said…”
I’m sure he’s a delightful person to his band mates 😊
Yeahhh! He’s egocentric and really gives 2 f*s about it
Amazing lyricist! Very good songwriter! I mean:
"And I see you fogging up the mirror
Vapor round your body glistens in the shower
And I want to stay right here and go down on you for an hour
Or stay, and let the day just fade away
In wild dedication, take the moment of hope
And let it run, and never look back at all the damage we have done now
To each other"
This is poetry! Btw. I hope your liver is fine and I wish you all the best!
Amazing lyricist.....rhyming.. basement..and..face meant😎...#losingawholeyear
Its no “WAP” but its okay i guess
This guys voice and style are pretty much the same as when I was a kid, and I'm honestly all for it! What a guy
"People's eyes can roll talking about this please state your best argument"
"There are dolphins in the Hudson river yo"
What? 😂

Just saw these guys with Taking Back Sunday at Red Rocks. Great show!
Saw them at Champagne Manor in NC! Great show, always have enjoyed every show of theirs I been to
Just saw them in Oklahoma city and it was amazing.. I cried lol hit me right in the feels.. if you get a chance to see them do yourself a favor and go.
Taking Back Sunday is an awful emo band
@@jooson2826you came here just to say this? Lol. Fyi 3EB LOVE Taking Back Sunday. Have brought them to all of their biggest shows in the past few years. If you think for a second that 3EB aren't emo themselves, then you don't even understand it in the first place.
I enjoy a person who thinks before they speak, wish I had the ability to do that 🤭 I 🥰 3EB 🖤
This guy be higher than a 757 his whole life
That's actually my old area code. Lol
@@davetech1269Ayee Virginia!
Didn't know that about kelp, thats awesome
Ya mean...self titled?
Memories.
Out of the Vein was THE album of the 2000s for me. It still rocks my workout now and then.
love 3EB...he's hammered btw.....
No he's not that's just how he's always been
@@marcirathbone8998 Oh he’s hammered and drugged out for suuuuure. The guy doesn’t like interviews and notoriously drinks and do drugs, I’ve partied with him. 😊
@@mattygenoi’d give anything to party with him!!!!!!! how was it ?!
@@keeleijayde1145 He’s a very cool and outgoing person. Very fun and easy to talk to! Surfing has me coincidentally meeting celebrities quite often because I’m doing it 20% of the time I’m alive, and have been doing so since I was 13. I once surfed with Jessica Alba and her husband in 2013! I had such a crush on her as a teenager, so it was mega strange to sit at the beach with a beer and a joint talking casually to her and Cash. That was very surreal to me. I also saw Paul Walker in 2005, when I was 16, and he told me that I was "a menace to those waves, bro", which now, looking back, is very epic. Never was a fan of the F&F-thing, but the first one kinda slaps
@@mattygeno that is wild!!!!! i bet that’s wild to tell other people! i can only imagine the looks on their faces! badass!!!
He is so charismatic but in a different way?
so what are you thinking scott morrison's crunch comment?

Lucky! Where at? :)
God of Wine 🎸
I do love the kelp though 🤗
No one mentioned a specific song in the beginning….
I think they were talking about Semi-Charmed Life.
@@carlossoberon5369I’m 100% sure they were.
Plastics in the ocean, especially in Indonesia, have almost nothing to do with plastics coming from the USA. The USA, Canada, and Europe contribute almost nothing to plastics in the ocean. It is mostly Asia and Africa, and also quite a but coming from Latin America.
I'm glad it took me this long to watch an interview with Steve.. I don't think I would have been a 3EB fan. 😂
Thank you for save the environment by avoid using plastic bags, that's the great idea and it's the same idea as mine. Thank you so much!! Love you Stephen!!! and I love Semi-charmed life song so much !
I fricken love you to the fullest Stephen. You’ve always been my dream man since you came out in the 90s and made some of the best music ever. I wanted to ask you a question though… Will you marry me please? Lol! Doesn’t hurt to ask.❤
nice being lectured by an out of touch pop singer on so called climate issues
3:04 I wonder what he’s thinking before he responds lol.
What kind of question was that last question? Out of all the questions that could've been asked
I like how he is a unique personality
💕💕💕
Not worried about climate change God's got this
2:28 dude if you ever come back to Indonesia again im gonna have a shot of tequila and a bottle of plastic beer pong with you stephen. 3eb rawks
Mantul bos. Setuju
Not surprised he’s pretty quirky, he is a lyrical genius
Little bit of a moonbat. But I love your music.
I love third eye blind but I can't stand how brainwashed he is. Don't meet your heroes and also don't listen to them when they talk about anything other than music because he is a great example of not having a original outside of songs.
Drugs are bad kids, but man I love 3EB.
What kind of pants are those lol
Third Eye Blind is still going? Who would have thunk it?
Screamer and Our Bande Apart are two of their best releases, honestly. Commercial radio moving onto the next trend is not an indication that a band has stopped making good music.
@@alanpugh Bande Apart is so amazing.
@Alan Pugh Yikes, I just listened to screamer and it was really bad. Their first 3 albums were great, but the magic is long gone now. Time to admit it.
@@jordanjmdjmd74 You've got it all wrong
Tony hogs the interview.. Vlad couldn’t even say hi…. WTH
He’s my cousin !
Really?
can the host on the left not take social queues about how he obviously didnt care to talk about a hit single from two decades ago that is one of their most simple songs theyve ever made?
he sues anyone that works for him, I have no respect for this dude
He's completely lying when he says he didn't think it would get played on the radio. This is a song that literally has Doo doo doo da DOO do as its hook. It's pure pop. And he knew most people don't pay close attention to lyrics.
hes talking about the lyrics i mean just listen to it, they're not even tryna hide it.
@@lordsubl1me Read my last sentence.
Love third eye blind. But God what an absolute whacko Stephen is lol
He just got old, dude. Let him be.
@@bear-qe7ep he's been strange since the 90s wearing straight jackets to live shows. He has a really bad backstage reputation too. Still love the music
@@gamingnguitar4527 Oh, yeah, I know about his reputation: he's something like a narcissist himself, right? But I thought you meant about his look. He looks kinda rare...
@@bear-qe7ep oh no haha yeah I know he did a bunch of drugs so that makes sense. Yeah very narcissistic and from what a lot of reports say is that he is very demeaning to women. Certainly not knocking the music though....I still listen to them. Imo those first 3 albums are near perfect. He has songs after that I like but the first 3 I can listen start to finish
@@gamingnguitar4527 Their self titled album: best album ever!
I don't worry about climate change. God has it in His control and He knew about it when He created this awesome rock we live on.
He's high af
You think?
Third eye blind is one of the greatest bands and Jenkins is the heart and soul of the band
David Jenkins really can't help it. I love his music, but somebody who puts hero ine and m eth into their body, has no right to lecture anyone else about drinking bottled water. It's absurdity. Also, most bottles end up in the landfill, not the ocean. Ocean pollution is a major problem but he apparently doesn't have the solution. I really don't understand his point. He's a bit all over the place and it's all so illogical. I think most of the pollution problems is commercial and govt wastes. I heard japan wanted to dump toxic waste into the ocean right now. I don't know the answers, but I am sure D Jenkins doesn't either.
David jenkins ?
At least he/she didn't mistype it as Florence Foster Jenkins 😅
Nobody ages like this unless they’re on meth. I can see it in his mannerisms too. I’m not saying he’s not a good guy… I’m just surprised nobody has noticed this.
Karma and guilt is rough. He shoulda just gone solo once the second original band member had had enough.
The song they're most famous for, the song he was talking about in this very interview, is explicitly about being on meth. But yeah no, nobody noticed 🙄
It’s cringy… super chaotic and crazy energy
What about his plastic face
lol
LMAO
Hater
Is he gay?
