I was hoping this video was going to dive into those little motion capture watch things. That is the best selling point over Quest 3 imo. You can attach those to baseball bats, tennis rackets among anything else turning any object in your house into a controller. Super great idea.
I've invested a lot of money and I don't care about any of these features... just make the interface more intuitive,I want to be able to slap this thing on my face and go... Instead I got to deal with archaic menus and ridiculous controller required situations.

To me there is no choice: I have the Quest3 and the Pico4. The Ultra will replace my Pico4, but only if I'm satisfied with test results from RUclipsrs who can compare the actual headsets and not on paper. So far I like what I have seen. Multiple windows, Android apps? I'm all in for that. 3D recording, yes, I want that. I'm curious about the loudspeakers, I would like them to be as good as the Quest3 speakers. The pass-through of the Quest3 is great, that of my Pico4 not so good, but if the Ultra delivers an even better pass-through? Great....
I'm also looking forward to the improved mixed reality passthrough, but Pico's mixed reality library pales in comparison to Meta's, the tech is there but without the library to make use of it. If only MR games worked on PCVR it'd be a done deal.

@@danielm5161 As far as I understand they are sold separately. They don't come in the box with the headset.

both are very good headsets; one is more confortable the other has more games in the library; one has more RAM and more storage, and native resolution, the other one better lenses... and so on.
Depends on what you're using it for. If you only really use it for wireless PCVR, Quest 3 most likely loses out just like how the Quest 2 lost out to the Pico 4 for PCVR. The Pico 4 Ultra has better weight distribution and this time around it gets a good amount brighter as well than the Pico 4, meaning that the advantage the Quest 2 had over the Pico 4 in terms of brightness will be much smaller, if not nullified this time around.
As for me I'm probably still sticking to my Pico 4. The ultra seems to be moreso and incremental upgrade than a generational leap. But honestly, for wireless PCVR... the Pico 4 Ultra is probably the best option out there on the market. I'm probably not gonna upgrade until a good affordable and comfortable headset comes out that has at least XR2 Gen 2, wireless PCVR and good black levels (such as OLED or MiniLED).

They tried to release it to US, but due to market conditions and government restrictions/trade war, Pico was not allowed to reach the US market.
They blew it at *NO DISPLAY PORT*
There is absolutely zero reason for a quest 3 owner like me, and the untold zillions of others to buy this HMD.
With a DP an instant purchase would have been a no brainer.

This is the Pico 5. The next one will probbably be a whole different leap but you'll have to wait using Snapdragon/Facebook time since we'll have to wait for better chipsets to drop.

Standalone games suck. I mostly play VR mods of AAA flatscreen games.
this is literally all i care to do when i finally get my PSVR2 hooked up to the PC. Cyberpunk, alien isolation, bioshock infinite, gta 5, RE2...so many old AAA games in VR will change the game for me. Even if i can only play it on a controller, who gives a shit.
You missed a lot. Games that is vr from ground up have far better gameplay than flatscreen vr mod or flat in general
I don't understand why the “much better” Meta Store is always mentioned ? There are only a few exclusive titles that differentiate Meta from the Pico Store and Pico also has titles that are “not” available for Ques users. And “most” acceptable games are available for both systems. I think Quest users are just a little jealous of being tied to the meta store and now being at the mercy of Meta. The Chinese copy a lot but also improve a lot and in my opinion are very innovative and sometimes even better than the western products. Visually, the Q3 also looks really old-fashioned.
I emailed pico to ask if there would be a north America launch/release . The response turned me off . They replied with a canned response basically saying they don't sell/repair/replace pico VR headsets and referenced me to contact retailers . Not giving my money to a company that doesn't stand behind it's product
It needs a US release to succeed, devs won't port games to Pico if the market is too small and the Pico library is already smaller than Meta's with games lagging behind in release. The US can't compete with Bytedance so they'll make excuses like they did with Huawei to ban it. In a fair market Pico would obliterate Meta (and I say that as a Q3 user).
This is the reason why Pico didn't do well in US market, hence the scrap of Pico 5. 90% of the people do not realise this. Probably too busy doing Tiktok dance videos and don't understand the world reality.
No DP, no Oled. Biggest missed opportunity for the last shot at VR from them.
Oled will be too expensive. I rather it have DP and cross buy that gave you both standalone and pcvr version of the games you bought

Sorry but the resolution and lenses on Pico 4 Ultra it's THE SAME of the Pico 4 original version, so ... there is no MORE Resolution in the Ultra, And I have both, Pico 4 and Quest 3, ... Quest 3 WINS in the resolution / details, because of the quality of the lenses.

I can say one thing the clarity in pico ultra is so much better than pico 4
