PCVR Software
Pico Connect - www.picoxr.com/de/software/pi...
Virtual Desktop - www.vrdesktop.net/
Option 1 - WiFi
TP-Link Deco XE75 - amzn.to/4axjzYp
This option is expensive but would be future proofing not only the VR headset connection but also the rest of your Wi-Fi interactions at home.
Option 2 - USB-C
USB C cable (3m) - amzn.to/4ayvfdx
Sideload APK - acesse.one/IzqbC
This option is inexpensive and the cable can be used for other things as well, keep in mind that using this option might result in Blue Screens.
Option 3 - USB-C to Ethernet
USB C cable (3m) - amzn.to/4ayvfdx
USB C Female2Female Adapter - amzn.to/3xKbXmT
USB C to Ethernet Adapter - amzn.to/49zO136
Ethernet CAT 8 cable - amzn.to/3UggZ3t
This option is right in-between the other two options and is in my opinion the best one for a stable connection and allows you to charge the headset while playing.

Man I love these videos,I always learn something new. Keep up the good work.
Thank you KM-og3hw - appreciate the support !
The best explanation I've ever seen, thank you
Thanks for puting out this video, I was not aware of the pico 4's had ethernet compatibility. After seeing your video I dug out a 5 port 1Ghz Lan switch, connected that to a USB C dock which I connected to my PC via USB C and finally a single USB C cable to the Pico 4 from the dock.
I also use Virtual Desk Top software, this setup improved the image quality and stability of the Pico 4, big improvement compared to a wireless connection when using a 5Ghz Router.
Awesome, glad to hear you managed to find a good stable solution!
This is the most most helpful video on the topic I've seen. Particularly love your technical clarity and the sound quality. Now subscribed - Thank you, BB. p.s Keep practicing your approaches
: )
Thanks! Appreciate it.
Liked and subscribed, many thanks for the info sir.
Thanks for the sub!
Nice video, would be nice to compare with the new and improved Pico Connect through USB-C!
Thank you so much SAD, I will have to try some of this out. You are very good at explaining these methods. I truly need a good GPU, 4090, way out of my budget. I will continue to try. :) MSFS is my goal. :)
Thank you for your video but I can see you have pasthrougt in poco 4 how have you done? I have not virtual video maybe is this the reason?
, if you are talking about the passthrough with seeing my monitor screen as seen at 10:55 you can change the environment in the virtual desktop app to passthrough.
If you mean the general passthrough for the headset without seeing additional app windows within the view it can be adjusted in you pico headset settings themselves - double tap the right side of your headset just infront of the volume rockers to enable and disable.
Some routers have an USB port (mostly for external hard drives to be shared on the newtwork), would connecting the Pico to that port serve the "Ethernet to usb-c" connection, or do you absolutely need an external ethernet to usb gadget to do so?
thanks
Looking at buying all the parts for option 3. I only play DCS and I sit less that a meter ftom my router. Will this improve my image or not at distance.
All new to vr and just ordered a cable like the method 2. Dunno if I made a misstake tho 😅 Does method 2 increase the internet stability compared to wireless? (having some wifi troubles in virtual detoskop atm)
And exactly what steps do I have to do every time? Is it from "usb teathering" and after or what?
Hi, thanks for the super helpful video. Im unsure about the APK part, the link in the description takes me to a URL shortener page and im not sure which file to download, is there anyway you can help?
Thanks
Thank you very much. As VR Newbie the USB-C Version is my first Option.
may i ask when playing is there a noticeable graphics downgrade when looking through the pico 4 vs what the desktop displays? im just trying to figure out if its also the same problem cause i played on my friends quest 2, im trying to consider which one i should buy
@@Soulify_3 I don't think there are currently any VR glasses that deliver the same image quality as a high-resolution UHD gaming monitor. But the Pico 4 is pretty close and technically it also has a higher resolution than Quest 2 and 3. Pico 4 = 2160 x 2160 pix, Quest 3 = 2064 x 2208 pix, Quest 2 = 1832 x 1920 pix. The reason why we don't see the image as sharply as on a UHD monitor is the very short distance to our eyes.
I got the ethernet setup but when I run the Pico 4 on screen stat I have a much higher latency. If I change it back to wifi you can see the latency drops from almost 400 to below 100.
in option 2; what does the APK do? I was able to connect the usb with Pico Connect without this APK.
Currently at my parents house and Pico Connect is very grainy while VD is very clear, idk why. Maybe bc of old router and Pico Connect doesn't work well with it. Maybe I'll try again when I get back to my place.
Can you show how to connect the Pico with streaming assistant?
Option 2 done. Thank you sir you are a legend. 😊
Is there noticeable image quality difference between pico connect and virtual desktop?
Noticeable not necessarily- at least not that I know of - virtual desktop is however more customisable since you can adjust which GPU you are running as well as which video codec you want and the bit rate etc.
A bit like apple and android 😅. Depends on the amount you like to adjust to your preferences.
The USB-C cable is USB 2.0. 480 Mbps. You need 1 Gbps. Otherwise, might as well use wireless WiFi which can go higher than 480 Mbps
Oh! it turns out I have WiFi 6e. Does that mean ethernet connection is not supported in the Pico 4? Many thanks.
@ArtFlyer01 the one does not cancel out the other. You can use all 3 methods - would recommend WiFi if you get enough throughput and no lagging or anything alike.
great videos thanks, is really an advantage to getting a Wifi-6e router for the Pico 4 when it does not support Wifi-6e?
Not necessary but you would be future proofing it. Once the 5GHz on the WiFi 6 router is congested you will have somewhat degraded performance on that bandwidth. With WiFi 6e you could put most supporting 6 ghz devices on that network to reduce the congestion on the 5GHz.
So if you want to save money then just get a good WiFi 6 router. If you don’t want to keep having to upgrade and just add on to the mesh and maybe move into a bigger house you just buy more of the ones in the link in the description.
@@SadBoySocialClub1 thanks for the responce, what would you say the difference between USB and ethernet connection when upping the bit rate? I find I don't like anything below 250mb at godlike
@@gramsci1094if you are talking about the max nitrate that you can set in virtual desktop I believe the limit is 150 and most people recommend leaving it at 120. Regarding the router speed and the Mbps anything below 800 usually causes loss in information.
@@SadBoySocialClub1 The limt is 150 on H264 and 400mb on h264+ and HEVC is 200, AV1 is 500mb iirc. I dont get how PCVR is usable to anyone at 120! the amount of compression in dark areas is so bad. I have played through lots of things completely fine using around 300mbs (including lots of intensive things like UEVR mods) I do find the wifi stability is very bad on Pico 4 and Q3 now with its most recent updates does not fluctuate like the Pico does.
That’s very interesting info, you sure the fluctuations are due to the headset though and not just signal strength of the router ?
Wifi 6E is not supported by the normal Pico 4
Abseloutly right on that one!
Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 5 both use the 5 GHz band.
Wi-Fi 6E uses a less crowded 6 GHz band, but only the enterprise Pico 4 supports it, not the consumer version.
Still the future proof option would be the 6e mesh system.
Thanks for the video. I have my Pico4 since 2022 and use it mainly for PCVR. I also have a Quest3. Now in the beginning there was no noticeable difference between PCVR on the Pico4 and the Quest3. But since Meta has made many updates, now I have to say that the Quest3 is much better. I don't say the Pico4 is bad. It's still an outstanding headset, but for some PCVR experiences I prefer the Quest3. I use on both Virtual Desktop. Some games with fast movement in PCVR using my Pico4 makes me nauseated. Whitewater VR for example. Though it looks great on the Pico4, due to the higher refresh rate (on the Quest 120) I don't get sick with the Quest3.
It is unfortunate that Pico4 doesn't get many updates. Ok, the system is stable, but improvements are not made anymore. The only way I experience improvements is with Virtual Desktop.
Nowadays I use the Pico for slower games and watching movies. There's one game however that I love to play with the Pico4: mutrix. It has great songs, various possibities: to play and also an extra folder for custom songs (Beatsaber custom songs). It works very well.
do you have a link for the APK for USB-C option?
Hi @latexbeep, thanks for the reminder, I've seemed to have missed it in the description. It is now added and ill place it here as well. acesse.one/IzqbC
@@SadBoySocialClub1 thank you!
Please make a video on Netflix app in pico 4....
i really hate the streaming of video on the pico i just want to use my pc and have clarity
Thank you Bro!!! Clear like a fresh glass of water, directly from the spring. I think I made a decision: I would buy Pico 4 using the Ethernet connection. Then upgrading it with a battery strap or a neck battery for the wi-fi session. It's great, now is the cheapest on the market, you can stream PS5 remote play too...why not !?! Thank you again..🙏🕊
