It's Nosferatu's 100th anniversary, they didn't just say "Oh, let's just make two Nosferatu episodes for no reason!" I respect your opinion about the "yeah we're bored" energy. I strongly disagree though.
An entire episode around Patchy would be way better than an entire episode around a one off 1 second gag. Patchy was there from the beginning. He deserves it more.
This was just a mere ratings trap. The modern writers are getting lazier with their humour style, it became grosser but with less impact in seasons 4 to 8, now it's so forgettable that they have to recycle old jokes and lines to bring in the young kids away from their iPads. Nickelodeon better pull the plug now because if they don't, this show will meet a depressing end.
1:32 I was thinking the same thing, it looks like half the frames are missing, especially in the next scene 5:05 I won't lie, that got a laugh out of me. Squidward and Nosferatu turning to each other like "what babies" is so funny to me
Kids might get a Nosferatu reference but I doubt they will understand the Peter Lorre reference. What's next, a Sammy Davis Jr reference? Writers must be trying to mimic the old Looney Tunes they grew up with.
5:09 "Modern Spongebob stuff happens and it feels like im watching a show for infants that have not even been born yet" This might be the best description for the current state of this show
I mean, up to the point of heading off to Nosferatu this episode had the potential to be the best in a long time, well the pacing, or the moment when Squidward accidentally sprayed the postman, had the vibes of the older seasons
Yeah there's actually a lot I like about this episode like the art shift and how Nosferatu himself was characterized, being a straight man similar to Squidward while also being unnerving in his own right. But for whatever reason, they just refuse to let any ideas breathe and waste massive chunks of episode runtime on "modern SpongeBob moments" where he's just making noises or derailing the plot. Dialing back his character is such a simple fix but they refuse to do it for whatever reason.
This guy scared the crap of me as a kid, I think it was because of the striking art style change combined with how creepy he looks... it just gave me the creeps. 😅
They'll do a Episode on whoever the Guy at the End was. Then they'll let someone from the Adams Family flicker the Light, then they'll get their own Episode which ends with Herman Munster flickering the Light, ending with him getting his own Episode, ending with a Werewolf from some old Movie flickering the Light.......
I don’t really understand why the the team behind SpongeBob decided to give nosferatu an episode of his own or why they brought him back? Plus it just feels obscure how Slappy, who was apparently made to look like Peter Lorre, was made to be a regular viewer/helper on the Patrick Star show.
@hitfasthithard when I was a kid in the earlier 2000s I swear Peter Lorre parodies where everywhere there's a whole compilation on RUclips about it just so I can save my breath but for some reason lots of media had to joke about him and the youngest of those animators where Gen X
I also don’t understand that new butler fish, I even don’t know his name (I googled it - Slappy Laszlo) When I saw first episodes Patrick spin off, this character scared me a little and I didn’t understand his “zest”, his uniqueness. He constantly manically seemed to be pursuing the main characters, and his design is very different from the rest characters
@@sonicfanboy3375 it's hilarious that the peter lorre reference is so outdated that even early fans of the sponge bob don't get it. It's not even a reference to the actor himself, but his charicature in the old looney tunes cartoons.

Lots of comments about turning the joke into an episode. I think they did a good job when they brought back for that tidal zone episode, since it felt like a nice call back to a joke from the original series Making an entire episode about him though… probably not the best idea It lead to an interesting premise at least, but of course modern SpongeBob had to make it full of bad or annoying jokes
I’ve seen nobody point this out but SpongeBob technically has had already had crossover and it’s nosferatu the only difference is it isn’t really a recognizable character
I never thought it was like possible for SpongeBob to be more creepy, bad or unenjoyable as it was in *those* days, season 7 era stuff yk, but literally whenever I'm subjected to any few second clip on youtube of what the show is now I must admit it was better then. Those episodes had gross bad stories and mean spirited stuff and bad morals but like at least the stories were coherent. Anything I've seen of the current show genuinely gives me elsagate YT kids content farm energy Like please just end the show already. Why does anyone watch this? How can any functioning adult sit through this? It's definitely not good for kids
I would love to see something related to Nosferatu like an another scene or something subtle but not an entire episode where he turns into a character I think the ending joke could be executed very well tho Similar setting as in graveyardshift where nosferatu apears but hes not the one flicking the lights But they would have to come up with a banger of an idea of who would flick the lights instead od Nosferatu Like the opera dude is pretty lame aint gon lie
I saw the slowness and thought you edited it to avoid copyright, but you say the show was actually like that? Geez That new art style looks absolutely amazing tho! Edit: Squidward and Nosferatu having the same reactions got me to chuckle, so I’ll give it that Same for the sushi gag, and the first door was legit creepy, but I picked up the repeat gag right away
What? Lon Chaney was great in the 1925 adaptation. And yea, far more people know about the musical these days than know about the classic adaptation. But there is nothing wrong with giving kids an interest in classic film, the silent era was a wonderful, artistic time for film.
I'm so tired of Spongebob nostalgia baiting and having nostalgic characters back as to get the newer characters over I always fucking hated that (why do you think SW Sequel trilogy failed spectacularly?). I didn't know they took notes from wrestling of all places (granted they had a centered one years ago and that stupid Patrick bell ptsd episode).
The same mistake they did with Fred the "my leg!" guy, turning a one-and-done thing into a whole episode, possibly even multiple episodes. Why stop there? Make an episode about the "Boys Who Cry" boy band, make an episode about the moray eel that was a part of the initiation ceremony to the Cephalopod Lodge, make an episode about the monkeys who came to test Sandy's inventions, make an episode about Craig Mammalton, the tanned seal whose entire personality revolved around being tanned, just ruin the whole show, even retroactively. Actually, some of these are a bad example, because they had an entire EPISODE dedicated to them. Nosferatu had one MOMENT, literally two frames of an episode, of appearance, and now he is already 2 minutes of appearance away from becoming a main character. I'm just glad that other shows didn't get the same treatment as Spongebob and ended at the right time: Gravity Falls, Back at the Barnyard, Danny Phantom (NOT Fairly Odd Parents, that one lasted TOO LONG), etc. God bless.
This is my other problem with modern SpongeBob It's destroying It's most iconic jokes and characters by bringing full attention to them Making whole episodes about them And over Using them Simply because they can't come up with anything new

I respect your opinion about the "yeah we're bored" energy. I strongly disagree though.
@@Pablo.673 All right...
An entire episode around Patchy would be way better than an entire episode around a one off 1 second gag. Patchy was there from the beginning. He deserves it more.
Absolutely true
This was just a mere ratings trap. The modern writers are getting lazier with their humour style, it became grosser but with less impact in seasons 4 to 8, now it's so forgettable that they have to recycle old jokes and lines to bring in the young kids away from their iPads. Nickelodeon better pull the plug now because if they don't, this show will meet a depressing end.
Sadly it's declining ever since Season 12
@@StevenJones851Been trash since season 4
@@Wario1382 nah its gotten better since Season 9 your missing out
@KoolKidsJuice it has
1:32 I was thinking the same thing, it looks like half the frames are missing, especially in the next scene
5:05 I won't lie, that got a laugh out of me. Squidward and Nosferatu turning to each other like "what babies" is so funny to me
Nosferatu is the movie, Count Orlock is the character.
Kids might get a Nosferatu reference but I doubt they will understand the Peter Lorre reference. What's next, a Sammy Davis Jr reference? Writers must be trying to mimic the old Looney Tunes they grew up with.
8:26 is it bad that when i watched this episode i thought the Hash Slinging Slasher was the one flickering the lights? 😅
5:09 "Modern Spongebob stuff happens and it feels like im watching a show for infants that have not even been born yet"
This might be the best description for the current state of this show
He appeared in The Night Patty and then returned twice in s13, totally a main
He literally has more screentime than Sandy in season 13
@@awespongebob I still wouldn’t call him a main. I get your point but he’s more of a supporting character
@@awespongebob so? just because a character who appears Three times in the series doesn't mean their the main and are more important then spongebob
omg using “totally” sarcastically like evil demons are gonna summoned when you a synonym besides that or “definitely” 😂
I barely saw nosferatu back when i used to watch spongebob but thays what made it entertaining
They did? Wtf why!!
It's Nosferatu's 100th anniversary.
Friedrich Gustav Maximilian Schreck did NOT die for this 😭🙏
This guy scared the crap of me as a kid, I think it was because of the striking art style change combined with how creepy he looks... it just gave me the creeps. 😅
The mouths are moving so slow. It's like it's lagging
Peter Lorre is an actor that not even millennials remember and yet for some wierd reason the writers are trying to push him to kids.
@hitfasthithard when I was a kid in the earlier 2000s I swear Peter Lorre parodies where everywhere there's a whole compilation on RUclips about it just so I can save my breath but for some reason lots of media had to joke about him and the youngest of those animators where Gen X
Nostalgia exploit
Count Orlok's 100th anniversary
@@hwkammers that was 2 years ago
1:33 TPSS possibly has to do with it, the animation of that show is more slower than this episode
wow another orignal character in season 13 Proably a new fan said
there’s no way this is how choppy the actual episode is
I also don’t understand that new butler fish, I even don’t know his name (I googled it - Slappy Laszlo)
When I saw first episodes Patrick spin off, this character scared me a little and I didn’t understand his “zest”, his uniqueness. He constantly manically seemed to be pursuing the main characters, and his design is very different from the rest characters
He is based on the actor Peter Lorre
@@sonicfanboy3375 Oh, thanks for answer😅
@@sonicfanboy3375 it's hilarious that the peter lorre reference is so outdated that even early fans of the sponge bob don't get it. It's not even a reference to the actor himself, but his charicature in the old looney tunes cartoons.
@@bodhidaruma2824 "Well, now I've seen everything..."
Count Orlock died in his movie.
Slappy actually IS from SpongeBob, he first appeared in Season 12 actually if you must know.
0:25 holy shit new childhood memory unlocked
OG Phantom of the Opera was actually clever tbh
One thing that I noticed is that in the castle there is portraits of Nosferatu and i just think thats kinda strange cuz vampires don't have a reflection. right ?
It could be a painting.
they have reflections on regular mirrors the silver lined mirrors is where they dont have reflections
a portrait is not a mirror.
Honestly I wonder sometimes
what an uncomfortable thing to watch
Lots of comments about turning the joke into an episode. I think they did a good job when they brought back for that tidal zone episode, since it felt like a nice call back to a joke from the original series
Making an entire episode about him though… probably not the best idea
It lead to an interesting premise at least, but of course modern SpongeBob had to make it full of bad or annoying jokes
I’ve seen nobody point this out but SpongeBob technically has had already had crossover and it’s nosferatu the only difference is it isn’t really a recognizable character
THAT BROWSER GAME I PLAYED AS A KID TOO
I never thought it was like possible for SpongeBob to be more creepy, bad or unenjoyable as it was in *those* days, season 7 era stuff yk, but literally whenever I'm subjected to any few second clip on youtube of what the show is now I must admit it was better then. Those episodes had gross bad stories and mean spirited stuff and bad morals but like at least the stories were coherent. Anything I've seen of the current show genuinely gives me elsagate YT kids content farm energy
Like please just end the show already. Why does anyone watch this? How can any functioning adult sit through this? It's definitely not good for kids
I would love to see something related to Nosferatu like an another scene or something subtle but not an entire episode where he turns into a character
I think the ending joke could be executed very well tho
Similar setting as in graveyardshift where nosferatu apears but hes not the one flicking the lights
But they would have to come up with a banger of an idea of who would flick the lights instead od Nosferatu
Like the opera dude is pretty lame aint gon lie
I saw the slowness and thought you edited it to avoid copyright, but you say the show was actually like that? Geez
That new art style looks absolutely amazing tho!
Edit: Squidward and Nosferatu having the same reactions got me to chuckle, so I’ll give it that
Same for the sushi gag, and the first door was legit creepy, but I picked up the repeat gag right away
The walls will ooze green slime!
8:39 Oh no. NO! Now kids are gonna associate "Phantom Of The Opera" with the old black and white films and NOT THE PHENOMENAL MUSICAL!!!
I think most kids already know about the musical.
What? Lon Chaney was great in the 1925 adaptation. And yea, far more people know about the musical these days than know about the classic adaptation. But there is nothing wrong with giving kids an interest in classic film, the silent era was a wonderful, artistic time for film.
6:43 hey! Haunted Honeymoon (I believe that’s the name, something with Honeymoon) reference! Although it’s badly executed in this.
oh shid oh frick the fish oc crossed his arms
0:25 i remember playing that game! it was fun
Omg, I played the same browser game as a little shit
Oh no! Not The Phantom Of The Opera too!
The narrators aggravation and frustration are so peak
I feel like there's a lot of unnecessary extra movement in the animations that mildly dulls the comedic aspect imo
Funny, i saw slappy shoot himself in an old Looney tunes episode, i believe its the Horton hatches the egg one
a lot of tv shows get worse as they go on but i really think spongebob might be the worst for it😂it’s hopelessly awful nowadays
God bless.
These new episodes look awful I’m happy I only ever watched the first five seasons
I honestly thought you had ripped a poor quality video. Thanks for pointing out the weird/broken video is the source.
Yalljsut love complaining.
Stop watching the show
They're complaining because they're just miserable, and have nothing else to do.
I just realized, this video came out a year ago, I thought it was recent! This is rather off-topic, I’m sorry for that.
I was excited for this when I saw the previews, then I saw the actual episode. I left very disappointed
This is my other problem with modern SpongeBob It's destroying It's most iconic jokes and characters by bringing full attention to them Making whole episodes about them And over Using them Simply because they can't come up with anything new
1:40 Wholly shit I didn't even notice that. But something felt off to me.
2:47 Edit: That's why. They blew all their budget on that.
Max Shreck is rolling in his grave!
Fucking... NOSFERATU?
WOW... I NEVER would have guessed i'd see a Berserk reference in Spongebob of all things, but i would argue with anyone who disagrees... @0:36 is 100% supposed to be Void raising during the Eclipse that birthed the transformation of Griffith to Femto. The shoulder cuffs, the big brain, the eyes...
edit: OMG HE EVEN ECLIPSED THE SUN i can't freakin believe this, i gotta make a video showing this
My one question: why are you watching modern SpongeBob episodes ?
Come one, all of these critiques don't hold water. Spongebob being similar to Spongebob is an awful thing to keep pointing out like its a real point
