I have not idea of SpongeBob since seasons 10-13, but from what I saw on your reaction, it seems that they slowed down the wacky over the top animation, still is an ankward artstyle that I think doesn't feel like is from this show, all the characters, but specially the new ones look like the Looney Tunes.
Yeah it’s kind of more awkward now because they have toned down the wacky expressions but keep the same style otherwise so it’s just in a weird spot
I like season 10, 11 is where the decline starts in my opinion.

Loony Toons felt like there was some "logic" to everything. With modern SpongeBob, nothing makes any sense no matter how much you suspend disbelief.

Something I wanna see you make a video about is the sadly common trope on modern SpongeBob. For some stupid reason, they make Patrick forget SpongeBob in episodes. An example of this is in the episode where Patrick gets a job at Goofy goobers. When he comes across SpongeBob on his rock playing his nose like a flute, he says, “oh sorry sir, I thought this was my rock.” Not only that, but when spongebob offers to help Patrick, he says, “thank you kind stranger.”
Sorry if this is long. I just really hate when they do this to the sea star.

I would probably think having a crowd THAT large would be out of the budget especially for a few short scenes. The same thing was done in the pilot episode, but i guess it worked a bit better because they were all one or two colors
There was another episode called Evil Spatula which also ripped off All that Glitters.
Ohhh right the one where Plankton makes a spatula to try and get the formula. I haven’t watched that one in so long, did they rip off the breaking of the spatula scene there as well?
@@awespongebobYeah Plankton sawed the spatula a bit so that it would break when SpongeBob uses it.
If I may say, I think the animation had a downgrade from season 12 to season 13. I think the lack of viewers watching is finally catching up to the show. They don't have an infinite pool of money to spend on these episodes.

@@StevenJones851 It's partially a good thing because it means they have to tone down the faces a little bit, but since the writers aren't good, it makes the episode have not a lot of jokes. Plus, when they try to do funny faces, it looks cheap, and the movement is more stiff. I see a downfall for spongebob now. It's sad ):

Tbh the only characters that doesn’t reappear (that isn’t mermaid man and barnacle boy because the voice actors are dead) are that one orange fish and squilliam fancyson

When you showed the footage from All That Glitters, it made me realize that the color pallet of the show hasn't changed since late season 4. I never understood why s2/s3 always looked outdated but season 4 and 5 still look somewhat new.

Idk if this has been answered already, but since you joked about your English vocabulary in another vid before: When we talk about odds, we usually say "low" or "high" odds, or perhaps "bad" or "good" odds, with low/bad being unlikely, and high/good being likely. People would also understand you if you said "small" or "big" odds in the same sort of way, I'm sure.

at least they toned down the stupid MeatCanyon/ Ren and Stimpy wannabe faces for this episode, is at least watchable. My only hope is that if they´d ever release some day a season finale for the show, try to emulate Hillenburgs´s classic artstyle and humor, so it would not end in an awful and forggetable note
Modern Spongebob is not only the last good cartoon on Nickelodeon, but the last good cartoon period. Because it isn't mindless depression porn or propaganda that tells you hate yourself for existing. He got the weakest spatula in history if it can't even endure a bit of heat 😂 also it's literally a rehash of All That Glitters with some horrible steps 9:22 those expressions don't FIT Spongebob at all. I hate that they animated it to look well but it just doesn't fit and it honestly just looks disgusting for me. I'd rather choose those goofy faces from Face Freeze than whatever that is. I also hate the inclusion of the new characters like Rube. How come it's so hard to write a normal character for them nowadays without requiring that person to be hysterical or "quirky"?
Should have retired that old ass spatula long ago, I agree the expressions does not feel like something from this show although that goes for a lot of stuff in the newer seasons…
And yeah I blame a lot of the random quirkyness on the Patrick Star Show since that show is supposed to be random but there is no distinction between the main show and spin-offs so they just overlap and make each other even worse

They also did this in Season 9 with Evil Spatula, although I don’t know if it’s one that you’ve seen, since you did mention earlier in the video that there were some that you hadn’t seen
I actually did come to an important conclusion though:
I think the reason why they rehash so many older episodes like this is because they rarely air those older episodes (I think), and they think that young children (the now exclusive target audience) have not seen the original episodes, and therefore don’t know that they’re unoriginal. This is likely even more beneficial due to their (somewhat valid) lack of new ideas for episodes
I was expecting the spatula guru guy to be the martial arts guy from the kung-fu island episode. That's one old-school character that I've not seen them reuse in the new-age seasons.

I think this episode is one of the worst in the entire show. Bad animation (which has never really been a problem in the show before), ripoff of All That Glitters, and the episode ends with someone’s fat fetish. The only redeeming quality is Spongetom, and he isn’t even a new joke!
Idk if I'm just so used to new Spongebob being boring, but the recent batch of episodes have been pretty ok. Not perfect at all, but I was not bored out of my mind for the most part aside from the Moby Dick parody
