- This video brings us to this Lutheran Church in between the Sunday services taking place (traditional & contemporary) The overall vibe from this church seemed to be mainly curiosity & when I declined to answer any detailed questions about the reason we were documenting, they didn't press it any further which was nice to see. Most of the time those who encounter me with my cameras tent to get upset at the fact that they didn't get the answers they wanted to hear as opposed to to me not answering the question. One individual approached with his device blocking his face , but asked if we would lower our devices so he could get a clear picture of us. Overall I gave this church a pass since there was no threat of police being called in our presence & noone told us we had to stop recording.

The first two women that approached y’all genuinely seemed really sweet and welcoming. The seemed to mean well.

I have come to the conclusion that most of these people questioning auditors over and over then losing their minds are guilty of something.

I fully support this style of journalism.
Nothing wrong with standing up for yourself, but being aggressive rarely puts a person in a safer scenario.
In fact, it felt very obvious, that if you wished to escalate this encounter, and still be justified, you could have. But the final result would have been worse.

If you are right, I think we should make an American flag, with a color stripe in it, that represents journalists, that way I can show everyone that I support all journalist, regardless of their behavior.
That church seems like a pretty good group. They handled you well.
That was not a bad experience at all. It's good to see ones like this for a change. One thing I think is funny are cam backs. People have no idea why they are doing that. And usually they do a cam back after they have told the auditor that it's illegal to do. But nobody did that here. Nice interactions.
My father was a Lutheran minister till he past away and my sister became a Lutheran minister also. What these members need to learn about the 1st Amendment is freedom of religion and press are equal, we all have the rights to do both.

I watch First Amendment Audits almost everyday. I enjoy watching Auditors educate as well as put disrespectful self entitled people in their place. I ran across you guys page a few months ago and I really like your style. I have several favorite Auditors, and you guys are close to becoming one of my favorites. My only qualm is you guys choosing to audit people while they are in the process of trying to get closer to God. And so far, most of those church Audits that I have seen show people who are very kind, positive and inviting to you guys. I would really love if you guys did more Audits at Restaurants, different public businesses, Banks, etc. versus people at church. Anyway, salute to you guys and keep exercising your rights.
It's not about God, it's a public sidewalk and a gathering of humans. That's it. Keep watching --- I am also a fan of this channel and it's amazing how many horrible, mean and nasty churchgoers have appeared in these audits. One actually assaulted her - bump bump bump - yeah church or no church, people are people.
I like the church audits. It’s a great way to separate the hypocrites from those who practice God’s admonition to “love thy neighbor.”
There are plenty of hypocrite butts in pews every Sunday.
I get people are curious about people recording. And for the most part, everyone in this video was polite. But, what I don't get is when they say we get concerned because of "what's going on in the world, and at other churches." What exactly is going on at Christian churches? Nothing. I kinda get it if you were outside a synagogue or a mosque...
or, what exactly is going on with cameras? are there camera wars somewhere? camera assaults?
@squonk2902 You do know that Christians are one of the most persecuted faiths. Not so much on America but through many parts of the world. Also, the FBI is targeting the catholics and infiltrating their places of worship in order to prosecute.

There have been multiple (and increasing) church shootings. Where a gunman just showed up and opened fire on the congregation. That's what the caution most likely stems from. If I'd seen many shootings at one certain event and I was attending a similar event I would also feel caution. Getting closer to these auditors, hearing that they are kind humans and seeing only cameras did seem to satisfy the people here. And that's fine - they reached out, they sensed no threat and were reassured and they went on with their day.

I truly appreciate how friendly you are in your interactions. Some people let curiosity get the best of them and you don’t shame them but hold true to your values and beliefs.
When you are outside of the church you reply to someone asking you “why are you taking pictures” you could respond by saying I want to prove to someone that people do attend churches in mass

it is nice to see church goers that are welcoming it is ok to be curious but they asked you answered and they went about their service very nice

I'm 60 years old. I have no comprehension of why people act like these people. Though I consider myself a very curious person, I cannot imagine a situation where I would walk up to someone to ask what they are doing. I also can't imagine getting upset or angry upon seeing a person with a camera. I guess I always have "it's really not my business" in the back of my mind. My thinking has not changed since I was a child. When I was young, if I saw a camera, I either waved or made funny faces. When I was older if I saw a camera and didn't want to be filmed/photographed, I went in the other direction. Life is simple unless you decide to complicate it.
Tell them you're a emotional support human....do not pet.
Congregants were curious, but nice. Enjoyable video.
Really everyone was nice handled it much better than some churches, they were polite, kind, cordial in all a nice group of people. Some people at churches you visited you say you know Jesus with that type of behavior and attitude had nothing to do with God! But again very nice group of people I really like the two lady’s they seemed so sweet.

Great audit - the people in this church are so much kinder than many other churches we've seen. The ladies in particular - "are you successful in getting the pictures you wanted?" is just a lovely thing to ask :D Marathon camback man made me laugh - you would swear he was approaching a flying saucer full of aliens that just landed :D :D

Are churches and church yards always separate in the US?
When I think about it, looking at all that empty grass by this church, I don't think I've seen any churches with graves outside, in any of these church audits, which is the normal thing where I live.
Oh you have cemeteries around your church? Over by where I live there’s cemeteries around the church.
Most American churches are infants compared to many European ones: a hundred years is considered ‘old’. And land is plentiful, with most newer churches planning ahead and buying large lots. Rural churches seldom own cemeteries. Some urban ones do, especially older ones, and there may be some with parish records, but not the same as the IK, as my genealogist wife discovered in her research.
If they truly believed in the lord, they would let him handle any issues.
