Wow I have tried folding fitted sheets for 40 years and NEVER had them come out that tidy and neat! I can't wait to wash sheets this weekend! LOL My mother will be so proud!!! Thanks!!
THANK YOU! I was trying to follow so many different RUclips tutorials and I kept getting a ball 😂 finally after watching yours I have a nicely folded fitted bed sheet. So happy! Thank you!
im not kidding, im a college student and ur video was the only one that helped me successfully fold my fitted sheet in one go. thank u so much seriously.
Fifty, yikes, yes, fifty years ago my friends mother showed us this same technique as my wedding present at my shower. All of us thought it was odd but we all gained a valuable lesson that day. Still use that method, takes about 20 seconds it is such a habit. The only difference is I open the flat sheet on the final fold over, place the fitted sheet and pillowcases inside the final fold so everything is together nice and flat just like your linen closet only a bit thicker. Great tip and I hope everyone uses it. Thanks Jan for sharing.
LOVE the idea of placing the fitted sheet and pillow cases inside the final fold of the flat sheet, keeping the entire ensemble together!!! Right now we get the different sized linens mixed up because they are similar colors (full vs queen). This will definitely help out.
Fitted sheets were only elastic at the corners fifty years ago. I used to have no trouble folding them back then. But now they are elastic all around and it's much harder to even find the corners and even when you do, they won't lay flat and square.
@@SantaRosaGal All of my sheets have the elastic all the way around but there is always a seam on each of the four corners. Fold in half, tucking corner in, then fold in half again, tucking in. This makes fitted sheet one quarter size, all corners are tucked inside the top fold. Place pillowcases in fold then flat sheet on outside, fold everything in half then in thirds. Nice and flat. All 3 of my queen sets and 12 pillowcases fit in one 24" wide by 9" deep drawer. Practice makes perfect, I promise.
As a guy, I don't need instructions (wrong, wrong!). I tried your method tonight, and wow - it works! My only problem was with my cat climbing into the folds! Once I removed her, the sheet folded nicely.
Great video! I learned the same technique over 30 years ago and still use the same way today. It truly makes the linen closet nice and neat…and less wrinkles in your sheets. 🥰
Thirty years ago, fitted sheets were only elastic at the corners. I had no problem folding them then. But now they are elastic all around. That's what makes it so hard.
When my dad was widowed, he said, “hey, i learned a good way to fold fitted sheets!” He held it up, made a few folds to make it narrow, then rolled it around his hands and smashed it against his stomach. Looked awful, but it worked. I laugh every time I think of it.
Thanks so much for the great video ... can't wait to get folding! Kind of a bedding addict but never have mastered the art of a tidy linen cabinet 🙄 After folding all my own, plan on even folding the ones in the "donate pile" 💜
I do a similar technique. At the point where you are about to do the last folds on the fitted sheet, I put the flat sheet and pillow cases on top and fold over them so I end up with the whole set showing on the shelf with one fold.
I was never taught how to fold any sheets by my mother, not much of anything. Today, I am the worst folder, I’m hoping your video will help this middle aged woman. The kids I didn’t have, are lucky to not have a mom that doesn’t know how to fold sheets properly. I roll them up lol. But alas, there is hope. I will unroll a pair of sheets and attempt your teachings.
Great hack My method is using clothes line, I don’t have a clothes dryer. I hang my just washed sheet on line if it is too wide for the line hang it doubled, making sure fitted side edges are all on same side just gently pull adjust, make sure when hung make sure hanging edges line up. When dry simply fold in half on line, then when lifting from line grab the top folded edge and pull towards you remove fully from line, secure folded edge under your chin and neck, simply fold the rectangular shape 2, 3 or more times tilll it is the size you want for storage. Hope this makes sense.
This one is much more intricate than the British lady's version. Jan must have an advanced Engineering degree as this tutorial is at least in 5 steps or more. Being single now, I have learned how to solve this puzzle!
I did everything step by step but my sheets just would not get into that “square” shape towards the end so I had to freestyle the end, but it definitely made my folded sheets neater than before!! Thank you!
For my sets, I fold one pillowcase, then put both sheets and the pillowcase into the remaining pillowcase. They will fill it about halfway. I fold the top down (so that the pillowcase is about half size). That way I don't have to look for the cases that match the sheets.
I used to be able fold fitted sheets easily with this method before they started making them with elastic all around instead of just at the corners. I wish I could find sheets that don't have elastic all around, but they don't seem to make them anymore.
Hint: IF unable to fold right away, don't pile in a lump somewhere. Always drape dried sheet over some furniture temporarily until time to fold, thereby reducing any creases.
Thanks What she said mathmatically E=hx e.g.. 1 = cos2 (x) + sin2 (x) = (eix + e-ix )2 /4 + sin ... Where the coefficient eix represents the four sides of the sheet. Just follow this simple formula and you'll be folding fitted sheets like a pro. We can put a man on the moon, but we can't figure a way to universally fold a fitted sheet.
This is a similar method that I was taught as a kid. The problem is king size fitted sheets never get this flat because they have the deep pockets with the extra elastic which I’ve never seen anyone use in a demonstration.
You fold 2 corners over, ok done You look for other corner and fold that one over, done Than you now you all 4 corners together 😳😳😳😳 2+1=3 What do I do with the 4 th corner ???
Why is there a gap in filming between the 2'51" and 2'52" mark??? There is an obvious change in the sheet folds. Don't give folding instructions if you are not going to do it the way you are telling us to. Sort of a "Practice what you preach" situation.
Idk, it looks like you are making it MORE complicated looking. I think if you took the video and instead of talking, maybe list every fold as a number.. as in steps. Could even have a diagram over your video if that makes sense. I know how to fold a fitted sheet, so I watched to see if you had an easier way. No. You didn't. And hearing you try to explain what you're doing was a little hard to follow. Just an FYI. 8:18

This was the best fitted sheet video I’ve ever watched. Thank you!!
Thanks and you are so welcome

I've watched so many videos but I must say your's was the best! Thank you so much!

What a great idea to share this info at a wedding shower. Wish I would have known it long ago.

Thank you so much. I have never known how to fold a fitted sheet but your video was so easy to follow. I know I will be an expert soon thanks to you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! None of the other videos showed their methods step by step, clearly, like you did. I'm saving your video!
You're welcome

Excellent!
Thank you. You did it and explained it very well!
All these people holding sheets in the air and flipping them around just made me want to scream!
Glad it was helpful!

So true!

I learned how to fold a fitted sheet years ago in Jr high school standing up, simulator way. I love this way to fold and it sure saves space! Thanks!
That is wonderful they taught that in school. Wish I could have learned it a lot sooner!
I have been using this type of fold for many, many years…and it really works…😄.
Wished I would have learned it sooner.
Fitted sheets weren't elastic all around many many years ago. It was much easier to fold them when they were just elastic at the corners.
Thank you for using a full sized sheet with lots of elastic, and a printed side. Better video than the others.
You are so welcome!

I will be refolding all my sheets today. Thanks So much!
Wonderful!

Love your way of folding your sheets.
Thank you!
Thanks Jan_ made this job so much eas😊
Glad it helped!
Thank you. Very helpful. Folding whilst on a flat surface made all the difference for me.
Glad it helped!
Great technique. Had to try it a few times, but I think I have mastered it. Thank you!
glad it worked for you
Awesome thanks
You are so welcome
Thank you so much!!!! I’ve been searching for years for a way to fold fitted sheets and this method works! Thanks for sharing! 😊

Excellent the best
Thanks
I do a similar technique.

How funny, we wrote our reply at same time with same "keep all sheets together" tip. Great minds think alike!

I was the same, trust me. The more you do it, it will become second nature. You got this!

What is your simpler method? Or link to the British Lady
Great
Looks achievable, Jan…👏🏻
Hope you give it a go
I just love this method, Jan…I’ve redone every fitted sheet in my cupboards!♥️
My Cat will not let me do this! He insists on folding them himself. 🤣
LOL

It gets easier with practice, but at least your sheets are neater than before. :)
I have the same issue! And after 11 tries, I gave up.
Beautifully done😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for this video! Tried so many ways to fold those darn fitted sheets!!😆 Will definitely try it!!!
Let me know how it goes.
That’s how I do them, too. Nice video, Jan!
Thank you.
Love it thanks ❤ I watched a couple of them but yours is the best so far the other ones were just too fast thanks again❤
You're welcome
So, step one is to make my bed? Damn it. I knew there was a catch. I guess I will Google how to make your bed quick and easy, then come back to you. 😂
lol
I'll be refolding all my sheets. My husband will be so happy. Neatness
Wonderful
So complicated! Had no idea😮. Will just throw it in a vacuum bag n store it.
lol
You explained it perfectly.
Thank you!

I'm in trouble here.. I've got 2 cats that will never let me do any of that. 😹
I'll bet that would near impossible.
Great video!
Thanks!
Love it. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much ❤ this was extremely helpful ❤
You're so welcome!
If you keep your hand in the corners you brought together instead of fanning it out, it works easier.
thanks for the tip
That was great Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it

Yey...
👏👏 thanks so much
You’re welcome 😊
I followed the instructions several times, bit never got the 90 degree angles! Perhaps it is because I have elastic all of the way around the sheet?
Yes, that makes it a little more cahllenging, but you can still fold and just let the corners do what they do.
Awsome
Thanks

Did you sew these sheets?
No I didn't
I think I learned this from Martha Stewart many years ago. However, mne does not look as perfect as yours.
Perhaps some day when I have time to study it. Too complicated and frustrating. Sorry.
.
I have a torn rotator cuff. And flipping sheets around and folding perfection are 100 percent not important.
I get it.
This is impossible. What sort of voodoo tricks are there for us regular people?
.
You fold 2 corners over, ok done
You look for other corner and fold that one over, done
Than you now you all 4 corners together 😳😳😳😳
2+1=3
What do I do with the 4 th corner ???
Tuck it in.
Still can’t
Sorry it wasn't helplful.
Couldn't follow beyond step 2
Perhaps the blog post will give you a better idea. youmakeitsimple.com/2022/02/22/how-to-fold-a-fitted-sheet-the-easy-way-simple-hack/
This is so complicated, I've tried and it never comes out right
Just do what works for you.
Why is there a gap in filming between the 2'51" and 2'52" mark??? There is an obvious change in the sheet folds. Don't give folding instructions if you are not going to do it the way you are telling us to. Sort of a "Practice what you preach" situation.
That is just a change in camera angles. Nothing has been clipped. It is a continuous process just at a different angle. Sorry if that tripped you up.
An eaiser method: hire a maid or buy flat sheets.
Done.
sounds like a great idea!
Sorry I didn't take the evenly wood of folding sheets, way to fast to follow, you get a " f " for tactics
sorry about that.
im sorry but is still too complicated for me.
that's ok
That's the "easy" way???
😉
