I only have to deal with folding fitted sheets twice a year doing it this way. Change of seasons here so the sheets need to be changed over and I'm here watching the video, so fingers crossed it doesn't end up twisted.
Martha was selfish by hogging the camera and staying in the middle, Martha should have let Pat get close to the woman doing demo. Pat was at a great disadvantage being so far removed.
"It's why I got divorced!" Lol. That's awesome. Martha is such a good sport, and is consistently amusing without ever being nasty to anyone. We don't watch television in our home, but if I could order a cable subscription that had only Martha on it, I WOULD.
I remember watching Martha showing this from all those years ago. I was extremely impressed. I absolutely love Martha. Never be embarrassed about striving for perfection. I certainly never mastered this!
This made me giggle. :) I love that even with help she still got the sheet twisted. It's so easy to do that! AND I love that Martha was honest about losing patience, but also very sweet in saying that all people from New Jersey are intelligent. That was nice of her to say. *No, I'm not from New Jersey. I just liked how she made the woman feel more at ease about no getting it right the first time.
These ladies are so cute, Martha's comment about her divorce being all about the sheets, is sooooo funny. I love it...I just toss mine into the linen closet and set neatly folded flat sheets on top and push them down until you can't see the lumps. LOL
I was seriously just thinking about this today while doing laundry. And, like the home-guru that she is, Miss Martha prevailed. Love, love, love this video. Epic timing!
This is how I fold my fitted sheets! I love how they fold into a smooth little square. I place my sheets & 1 folded pillowcase inside the second pillowcase for each set. Easy to keep all the sets of sheets organized.
I've been folding my fitted sheets like this for a couple of years now. Much easier method than how I used to do it and looks so much nicer. The lady who couldn't follow along totally cracked me up!
I could not figure this out since it was so new an idea to me. But I came back and watched again and now I do it all the time. I am so proud of myself!
its much easier if you fit two corners (as shown in video) but then rather than add the third then fourth corners, you do the same thing to the third and fourth corner as you did with the first two, then combine all corners. That's the way I was taught at the young age of 10. Been doing it that way ever since and I'm 55 now
Dear Diane, February 8, 2022 comin’ at ya!!! Read the replies from this video, and there you were....I’m in the process of trying to maintain my home the way my wife did before she passed on Thanksgiving Day, 2021.....No small task!!! Oh....She was a Diane too!!! Anyway, I read your method, and your method seems to make a more logical path for a man....Anyway....Thanks for the tip!!! Hope you’re still reading your RUclips replies.....
My husband was in the military for 23 yrs. & I visited him on an Aircraft Carrier where there was 5,000 men. The place was spotless clean, & bunks were made. Anyone who says a man can't clean just needs to look at how young guys do it in the military.
my mother taught me how to fold sheets when I was a kid and have never had the problems others have had. Its always been my pet peeve when I cleaned houses when I found their linen closets such a mess with sheets all jumbled up. I actually fold my fitted sheets and then fold them into their matching top sheet and pillow cases so I do not have to hunt for matches. I will have to make a video one day cause I have never seen anyone else do it my way, and they look so nice in the cabinet together.
bluegardenia29 Darlin just fit all four corners together and tri fold it, then tri fold again the other direction and wha la a nice neat lil bundle. then four corner your flat sheet and tri fold it too then place your fitted bundle in the middle of it and add the pillow cases and fold it up in like a roll. I do not have video capabilities but I can do a video of still pics. maybe I should make a sheet folding video myself.
you should do a video, because in this one, they either edited out, or switched to the wrong angle or switched to someone in the audience laughing at EXACTLY the parts where i have trouble.
that is exactly what I do!!! Wash them, dry them and put them right back on the bed!!! I change the color of sheets 4x a year, Spring color is Mocha, Summer is Sage, Fall is Gold, Winter is Burgundy. 1 comforter for Fall and Winter because sheets match both colors in comforter, Spring comforter has patchwork of Light Sage, Taupe, and Ivory, and Summer is a light weight quilt of Sage and Ivory, .and like the guest who suggested this test, I too and fitted impaired , I fold them in three sloppy sections and roll 'em up and stick 'em in the closet where nobody see how sloppy my linen closet is, and of course I don't care about that. Now clothes closet is carefully organized of course, so the clothes have minimal wrinkles that are not noticeable enough to iron.
My grandmother worked in the laundry at the university hospital here in OK when fitted sheets came on the market, she showed her daughters how to fold them(, 6 daughters) I was 9 or 10 at the time, iam now 69 years old. So for many years I have been folding my fitted sheets , the way Martha Stewart showed.
thank you God!! I am OCD so I take forever trying to fold sheet good enough so I don't end up throwing it away out of frustration. other videos go to fast so I'm glad the woman was having trouble because it allowed to me to keep up. thanks for this video.
hun ur folding the fitted sheet in half and putting the fitted corner over ur fist, then fold it in half again and then all four fitted corners are all on one hand and you just straighten then sheet up so it lays neatly in that L shape, then tri fold them like Martha did. I put my fitted sheet in the tri folded flat sheet and the pillow cases so my set stays together and that look so nice on my shelf in the linen closet.
OMG the way she is explaining it is actually confusing! I have taught countless people to fold fitted sheets and never how she did it. I didn't even understand it!
I love this, fitted sheets are great on the bed but impossible to store in the linen closet. Of course Martha does it perfect, everything she does is perfect.
Watched a number of videos on how to fold a fitted sheet. All of them have one thing in common: they all use single size sheets! Well....it’s easy to do it with that size...but try to do it with a queen or king size sheet. You’ll just end up doing some quick folding and shoving it in the closet, drawer, or storage container and getting on with your life😁😁😁😁
My husband is a dearheart that will help me with any chore I need help with. Except folding fitted sheets. His refusal and deep-rooted hatred for this one thing is the most adorable thing ever.
I'm good at folding fitted sheets and the whole set. "You can't have a nice linen closet if you put that blob in there" I wish I heard Martha Stewart say that decades ago, I would have got on the ball much sooner lol.
You made me laught out loud!! I do exactly what Martha said, I strip my beds do the washing and put them right back on the bed. I may be a litle better at folding afer watching this! Thank you!!
The only video I can understand completely and got how to do it immediately was here on RUclips-look up “Bed , Bath, and Beyond How to Fold a Fitted Sheet” video. The way she explains it is so easy to follow and understandable. It’s also only 2 minutes long. My fitted sheets look so nice now!
Amun, ok first off the camera needs to stay wide angle on all three so we can see from beginning to end with the lady who is trying to teach. Secondly, turn the sound OFF and follow along.
Ive been on this Earth 21 years. I have been taught to fold a fitted sheet countless times and still fail. This helped me at least get started. I still suck, and I probably will forget again, but I know I can just come back and watch it again
My Mom taught me how to fold fitted sheets from the time I was a pre teen and of course how to make the perfect bed with the tight fitted corners like they showed you in the military.
I totally agree that her explanation is very convoluted. Once you have two corners together on one hand, it would be so much easier to say run your other hand to the corners at the other end of the sheet so that basically have the sheet folded in half with one set of corners over each hand, and THEN do the last wrap (transfer to the other hand) to get all the corners together. And finally lay down the partially folded sheet down, and finish.
@@anngepp8491 That woman was a terrible teacher. Six years later, however, *you* are still helping people with your explanation! I have a folded fitted sheet now! Thank you so much!
I could not follow these instructions despite trying twenty times! I went to "Beautifully folding a fitted sheet in under a minute flat"...I got it first time. Easy.
The best advice is what Martha says at the end for those of us who can't and refuse to deal with folding these. Just wash, dry and put right back onto the bed! LOL
"Martha Stewart called my sheet folding pitiful then laughed at me. I've never been happier in my life!" lol I love Martha. She is a role model for women, maybe minus the insider trading, but seriously? How many men get away with stuff? She is kind of impervious to her own scandal. Teflon Martha!
Martha you are a riot fitted sheet that's why I got divorced that's the best one I've heard yet LOL this segment was very humorous and very helpful thank you again love you show you're so talented and everything you do keep up the good work
That's extremely helpful. Martha Stewart was so funny but the other lady teaching seemed impatient & mean. Even tho I got it right away, not everyone runs like that. She needs to calm down & be patient when teaching.
Exactly! That lady is supposed to be helpful, not condescending! It's almost like she was TRYING to humiliate that poor woman. Martha was doing a good job reassuring her.
+Stephanie Barnett I agree, yeah like "did you get it.. Martha got it." is pretty rude. -_-* I love this video instruction though. People might be nervous about being on a television show for the first time & trying to in front of a bunch of audience. Seesh
I actually for a long time only had one set of sheets per bed. It forced me to just do it, and also not have the dreaded dirty sheets just hanging around in the laundry. I do have two now, but then I have the dreaded dirty sheets once again. I think I’m going to go back to one again. It also clears up the 🥵 linen closet.
Here's a slightly easier way to do this, so it doesn't get twisted. 1. GET A HELPER! 2. As they started in the video, you are each going to hold the sheet by it's 4 corners. (You at one end, the helper at the other) 3. As you fit your 2 corners into each other, like they show on the video, your partner fits their 2 corners, folding to the same side as you. 4. Then, all you have to do is bring your straight end to your partner's and your cornered end to your partners, and fit them together.
"Wash them, dry them and put them right back on the bed."
Brilliant.
Exactly what I thought after she said that!
Thats what I do to avoid folding. In the linen closet top sheets are very neatly folded fitted sheets are balled basically

I only have to deal with folding fitted sheets twice a year doing it this way. Change of seasons here so the sheets need to be changed over and I'm here watching the video, so fingers crossed it doesn't end up twisted.

I totally agree that her explanation is very convoluted.
“Linen House” explains this a lot easier and better!!!
Thank you.
