It is due to treaties that the information on the ICBM's is already public just like it is the same treaties that limits the number of warheads and the size of the warheads carried. The US went a little insane with miniaturizing nukes in the 50's and 60's till we got down to the Davy Crockett and the related W54 warhead a variable 10 to 1,000 tons of TNT power in a 51 pound package before adding the parts to make it into a bullet for a jeep mounted gun.
The US did some insane things before those treaties like putting nukes on air to air missiles and ground to air missiles based around major cities or the always fun tomahawk cruise missile for that 2,000-5,000 km deliver it in the door/window of the target.

It was made to be able to get it ahead of russian tanks if they ever invaded Europe again so they felt that a little exposure to fallout was better then having hundreds of tanks rolling into the area.
The same base warhead was the inspiration behind the suitcase nuke even if it would never fit inside one as it was made to be strapped to someone jumping out of an aircraft then armed when it was on the ground to be carried to a dam or other high value target with a known faulty timer so it would have to be manually detonated.

I am a very senior US Soldier, with just about 20 years of service, many deployments to conflicted areas we’re all aware of in that time. During my tenure, I’ve come to learn there are two types of Soldiers: 1. those who want to fight and wage war on their adversaries, and 2. those who have done so and want nothing more than peace. Simply being involved in planting the seed of freedom and being able to see local nationals taste it for the first time has been worth everything I’ve been through. I absolutely love experiencing other cultures, and we need much much more of it to bridge the gap to humanity. Without it, this all just repeats.

Majority of North Koreans are that way, even a large number of their military has defected - one famously a couple years ago while on duty ran across the NK/SK DMZ and survived despite being shot. He was saved in time due to all the parasites he had in him.
Was watching a documentary the other day where a man was given access to talk to the people in the countryside (in exchange to film their farming equipment and stuff - to show to the world how they have “an abundance” of food and “are well off” as you’re only allowed to fill propaganda basically), but even an elderly woman in the fields working on a farm spoke about her hatred for America, but made it very clear it’s not the people … but the government.
I was like “wow, if they only knew many Americans felt the same way.” but they’re raised to believe we have this hatred for all of North Korea and it’s people, that we are envious of what they have, and taught in schools that we are the enemy because WE supposedly see them as the enemy.
Was kinda’ sad, to be honest, because the woman also said “I’d love to be able to leave this country one day to see America and find out what’s so great about it to where they can talk down on our supreme dear leader” …. because they’re lead to believe we are poor and bad off, just like how they’re taught South Koreans are poor, digging in the trash for food, and have nothing and that’s NK is the one that is advanced.
Again, could only think “if she actually came to America, I wonder if she’d even want to leave”
      I feel for the people.

It was my honor and pleasure to serve in South Korea in the US Army Military Intelligence Corps. I loved the Korean people and agree with your observation that the two Koreans (N and S) are one people. Currently they are separated by a lack of Truth in North Korea. I was stationed in Berlin in the early Eighties and surveyed the Berlin Wall with wonder. I wondered how the East German People could tolerate their Government, with Freedom on display not 200 yards away. West Berlin was separated by a physical barrier replete with Machine Gun Towers. The "Police" in these towers were there with orders to shoot anyone who would dare to try and escape to freedom. While working in the NSA I saw the Berlin wall fall with joy and amazement as the East German People took the matter into their own hands and retook their Freedom and Liberty. I am confident the North Korean people can (and should) overcome their fear of the Government and also retake their Freedom and Liberty.
I'd also like to add how much I loved and admired the S Korean people. I was always treated with respect and gratitude.

@Sam Bourgeois While freedom in the U.S. is on a downward slide, it is in NO WAY comparable to China and North Korea. At all, whatsoever, in any capacity. Also, many of the issues in the U.S. are due to socialistic government programs. The U.S. is NOT truly capitalist, and that is where most of the problems are rooted.
Go to China. See how it is for the government to just take your house from you, take you from your house. The Great Firewall of China prevents access to Facebook, Twitter and RUclips. You will be extremely penalized if you attempt to use a VPN to get around that. People have to speak in code or even just post using emojis in China to even attempt to get around being disappeared by the CCP. I think only a person with a lack of understanding and a lack of gratefulness would equate America to the CCP or North Korea. BUT, I think that ignorance is certainly leading to some serious issues in America. If people don't educate themselves, America's downward slope could result in something really terrible, something that people born here have never experienced.

First off, the Trump regime brokered peace talks that allowed the tensions to relax a bit and North Korea was allowing visitations so there is some hope. Sadly the media is/was so fixated on orange man bad that most of the news was bombastic and normally incorrect. Even then it was/is sparse.
Sadly, it is actually worse than that. North Korea saber rattles to get paid in food to shut up. Those "donations" actually hurt the people even if they are used as humanitarian aid. It quells internal strife and reduces tensions internally preventing internal forces that would want reform.
Mexico has the same issue with the relaxed illegal immigration into America. The cartels, police corruption and socialist policies force people to flee or be abused by any number of governmental forces. If they couldn't just flee into America to relieve some of the most vocal dissenters there would be mounting pressure to reform the government. This doesn't even get into the brain drain issue where first world countries take second or third world country intelligentsia (doctors, scientists, etc) that their home country invested into. You can argue that this issue is almost more harmful than the lower class emigration issue.

I wish I could be sanguine about the US taking on NK, but China entered the Korean War and would do so again. NK is too much of a buffer against SK and the US for China to allow it to be taken.

    • @andreww2098
      @andreww2098 3 года назад +2

It would take NK doing something stupid to start a war, and China may get pissed off by whatever they did, China would let the South and US forces Invade but would also invade to create a new DMZ larger and deeper into NK, but not too far as China wouldn't want to deal with too many Refugees

This guy has a beautiful heart. So happy he escaped NK, and I wish him much happiness going forward.
The US does NOT hate North Koreans. It's the leadership that is the problem. We wish all people from that country could share in the economic prosperity of SK and the rest of the world.
I don't know how that's going to happen until the Kims are dead, though.

It’s not a matter of hate with the US towards the North Korean people, it’s the leaders of North Korea that is the issue.
We want peace but it would require the removal of the leaders of the country ( the supreme leader and the heads of the military and government officials). They would be tried, more than likely by an international court and the rest of the population would have to be brought up to speed on the rest of the world.
As I understand it, when someone defects to South Korea they are integrated into the populace and brought up on what has happened since the Korean War which would have to be mandatory for the rest of the population so they can function in a society where they now know the truth.

I couldn't honestly even finish the video because it breaks my heart knowing that there is a population of people who don't even have a single idea that they are being oppressed and are not free. I pray that one day the people of North Korea will experience actual freedom and have the same human rights that every single person should have simply by being born as a human being. I may live in a very small town compared to the rest of the USA, but my heart still breaks for the people of North Korea and I hope every single day that they will eventually get actual freedom and know what it's like to speak their mind and have plenty to eat and feed their families and say and dress however they want as well as start any business that they wish. I honestly just pray for the freedom of North Korea, I hope that all defectors are okay and safe, thank you all so very much for sharing your stories and experiences, it means so much to those out there who want to learn and understand what you have gone through, and I genuinely hope that others learn from your sharing your story as well ❤❤

Can someone help me contact this gentleman? I would love to explain to him that the majority of Americans think very similarly to him. The reiteration of wanting peace and harmony resonated a lot with me in this video, and I would love to have a talk with him and explain that the majority of Americans, think very similarly to him, regardless of military strength. Our country is founded on this because of what our forefathers had to do to gain their freedom, but sadly that has dwindled since, and is now no different than North Korea. We have a dictatorship as well but is masked by this lie of “democracy”. Elections have been stolen from the ordinary American and the president is just a puppet for the larger powers at hand.

The US has more aircraft carriers than the entire entire world combined. An air war between the US and North Korea would be measured in just a few hours. North Korean submarines are woefully obsolete, and can literally be sunk by other submarines that are miles away and undetectable by the Korean submarines.

Americans mostly feel sympathy for North Koreans. They are living under a terrible dictatorship, and we want to see the whole Korean peninsula united and free. Although we have an advanced military, the purpose is to defend and protect ourselves and allies. Peace should always be the goal, and negotiations should be the first line of defense. The American people don't want to be at war with anyone.
