@@bighouse7672 The US's militaryt budget is $ 800 billion. This is more than the next ten top military spenders in the world collectively (include China, Russia and India). It is the only country that has planned and can fighter to massive wars against near-pier enemies (Russia and China) on two front at the same time & win. Then, if you pull in NATO, you have an ustoppable juggernaught. Lastly, when you include other "non-military" military expenses (eg. My wife is a naturalized US citizen from China. Her nephew is in Chinese PLA. On our last trip, I met with some of his army friends. Being curious, I asked them how often they trained with their equipment. He said they spent more time in political thought and reliability meetings than actually going out to train.
When asked if had been in the military, I told them I was in the USAF as a TACP ( I worked with frontline maneuver units providing close air support (airstrikes)). When asked me how often we did actual training. I told them we train with our equipment every day and the days we don't is spent on the firing range, qualifying with our weapons or in the gym lifting weights (my muscles are way bigger than him and his buddies even though quit serious lifting years ago), running or exercising.
I think I scared them, because after that they said they never wanted to go up against any American units because we were trained a hell of a lot better than they would ever be.

Yep and it is actually a concept that goes back to Roman times.
There is an old saying that goes back to 379-395 BC from an Roman General who said "Qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum" which when translated from Latin says "Let him who desires peace, prepare for war".
This is very much a true statement. It's meaning is that to get peace you must have have a strong military as that will mean enemies are less likely to do anything stupid to your allies or friends or attack you directly knowing what will be unleashed against them if they do.

Also, lest we not forget... The B-2 Spirit was not the first flying wing "stealth" aircraft. Nazi Germany actually developed the first stealth aircraft... In the 1940's, Goering approved the production of forty flying wings - to be known as Ho 229 or Go 229. However, the Americans captured the factory at Friedrichroda, Germany in April of 1945. I detest war, and grew up in the 1970s, so I was too young for the draft for Vietnam. I had a couple of people about 10 years ago I played in a golf league with that both had Ph.D level engineers and making casual talk with them on the golf course as people do, me and my brother (my partner) asked them what they did for a living and they said they really couldn't say much other than they were researching technology with some other people in a team to miniaturize rail gun tech to present to contractors for the defense department to hopefully make them smaller and more deployable across various platforms of weapons, everything from fighter/bomber aircraft to tanks and other APC vehicles. According to them there are already large versions of these weapons deployed at some land installations and on some ships, but they did not mention which, said they couldn't. They did say that a current problem right now is being able to fire more than a few munitions without it basically destroying the weapon/barrel. They were working on some type of electromagnetic thing to reduce friction and pressure on the barrel from the projectile, but I have no idea how that works. They did say that another competing group of other people that live sonewhere else were also working on spread focus particle accelorators, which I didn't know what that was and they both said it is basically a super-intense high powered laser, and that was a competition for them to eventually get a part of a defense contract. I don't know how that worked out because they moved and did no play in our golf league the following year. That at least I do know and can speak to is that this was in 2014 and it is now 2022, so I have no doubt at all the things we haven't shown the world probably is 25+ years ahead of even our most advanced weapon systems now. I mean sure, they could have lied, but why lie about that and not some more practical business venture where they were making money; logically that doesn't make sense they'd lie about something that extravagant or advanced. Mr. Putin might be careful what he wishes for because he just might end up getting it, and maybe his military will end up being the testing ground of something nobody has ever seen before 30 years in the making. I sure hope not, but I know that we here in the US don't feel the need to parade our newest weapons systems down the streets of Washington for the world to see, which is honestly a very dumb thing to do anyway because you just tip your hand to the worlds' various militaries. Great reaction to the video btw, I hope you both stay well and safe.

I served in the navy many yrs ago. I was attached to an f14 squadron. I was on a total of 3 aircraft carriers. The first the Enterprise, then Eisenhower then the GW.
I consider my shop to be the Eisenhower. Since I spent the most time aboard that ship. The f14 to me is still the most beautiful aircraft
Think the top fun movie. The first 1.

Submarines from all countries regularly chase and track each other at very close ranges to make sure we know where all their submarines are and what electronic signals they emit so we can track them and technology increases and submarines become nearly impossible to track. That is why they sometimes collide. Also nuclear submarines hide in the terrain of the sea floor and "hover" there without moving for weeks or months at a time.. They are all over the world at all times and can be positioned to launch attacks without warning at a moment's notice.
Also the USA has protected Europe since World War II. I was in the US Army in the 1970's in West Germany when we protected the German Border and kept the Soviet Union from invading and occupying Europe. The Soviet Union's military doctrine at that time was to use Tactical Nuclear Weapons as a first strike weapon and planned to use nearly 150 nuclear weapons to conquer all of Europe in one week. They also had huge stockpiles of Chemical and Biological Weapons. Our forces protected western Europe from 1945 until 1986 when the Soviet Union broke up. Our country paid a huge price for keeping Europe free and giving you a peaceful life.
I know in the 1970's the USA had approximately 200,000 troops in West Germany plus thousands more in neighboring countries. Are you aware of the amount of protection we provided Europe to keep you safe and free?

This thing about alcohol in the US is ridiculous people completely misunderstand this. It is not illegal to drink alcohol in the US if you're under 21. What is illegal is to sell alcohol to someone who is under 21. If someone comes to my house and they're under 21 I can serve them all the alcohol I want.
We used to have a 18 drinking age the issue in the US is that people start driving at 16 or 17 and it was Carnage on the road. It's generally not true in Europe where people cannot afford to start driving until they're much older and can afford a car.

But I do want to bring up one point. I'm extremely proud you ladies are wanting to learn, that's very commendable. But you miss A LOT because you continuously converse between each other AS the video continues to play. Your viewers cannot hear the narration because of you talking over it. If you need to make an observation verbally, please pause the video so we know exactly which statistic you are commenting on. I had a hard time with this one, because I couldn't understand both of you talking over the narrator. That's three voices at once.
I'm just a viewer giving my perspective and solution.
Just pause or mute. Not only yourselves, but us viewers will hear ALL the facts, and your comments as well. Thank you again.

I can remember the Italian soldiers having wine included in their MREs in Iraq in 2003.
In the USA teenagers owned high performance cars in the 1980s and high performance cars and inexperienced drivers under the influence of alcohol don't mix well.
The death tolls were rising and mothers against drunk driving began a national political campaign that resulted in the raising of the legal drinking age and a crackdown on drunk driving and underage drinking.

The comment about US subs not having communication isn’t necessarily true.
While they are at operating depth they don’t have comms but if they come to periscope depth they can communicate while remaining submerged.
They have high speed data links and satellite communication ability so they don’t have to remain shallow very long.
Attack subs also have a VLF comms system that can receive comms with a floating wire while the sub remains at deeper depths than periscope depth.
Ballistic missile subs have the same VLF comm system and other lower frequency comm systems that keep them in communications almost non-stop.
I worked communications on 2 different US fast attack submarines in my Naval career.

The alcohol law matter is a little complicated. It's actually state laws that directly determine the drinking age, BUT the Federal Government can influence a state's policy - through "the power of the purse". In the early to mid 1980s, the Federal government passed a law stating that they would cut off supplementary highway funds by 10% per year for any state that did not raise its drinking age to 21 years old. This was in response to popular pressure to stop drunk driving - especially a group called MADD: Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Before then, states had a patchwork of laws. F.ex. Louisiana sold any type of alcohol to anyone at age 18, while Mississippi had it at 18 for beer but 21 for hard liquor. I was the last high school class for which last-year high-schoolers could legally purchase alcohol.

14:30 not only has drones been a thing for almost 30 years, touch screen technology existed even before I was born in 1991. There were security guards at the White House when my parents visited and they were seen talking to their almost spygear like equipment. I've seen a girl with a disability or mental health condition and she used a touch screen for communicating.
Most drones from the last 5 years were incapable of being able to be stay powered on for more than 5-10 minutes, nowadays they can last 20 min to 1hr or more depending on who you buy the drone from. Actually it could be a couple hours now but the military using such large drones, it makes sense they can stay afloat in the air for hours and hours.

The U.S. has been spending more than the entire world combined on its military for near on 80 years. China, Russia and the rest of Earth combined all working together would need decades to catch up to them if the U.S. remained where it is now. No single country like China has any hope of ever catching them alone. A few hundred years may see a change but its not looking like what would be needed would ever happen. China's economy depends on the West and that can change faster than they can get a military lead. The U.S. is one of few nations that can sustain all it own military needs, including fuel, nuclear and oil.

Submarines are active listeners. NATO allies have access to most of our methods for stealth, including making submarines quiet. Two NATO subs touching is bad, but that's a part of the risk you take when you sign up for duty. Military personnel do get killed. WWII Germany lost a far higher percentage of submariners than any other branch of their military.
I spent seven years in the US Air Force even though I'm from a "Navy Town" called San Diego. My Uncle had THREE ships sunk under him but survived duty in the WWII Pacific. But the line from a famous comedic (with God talking to Noah) "how long can your tread water?" made choosing the AF over the Navy an easy call.

    Hi there ladies,
My first time visiting your channel. I think this video is all about the military. We have several treaties that we will honor. This video covers a lot of subjects. Mostly military in nature... We spend an amazing amount of money in this area!!! For example the military budget for 2024 is $825 billion. The only thing that hinders the operations of our submarines and aircraft carrier battle groups is the amount of food they can carry. For example on an aircraft carrier cooks prepare 18,000 meals per day.. Both the subs & aircraft carriers can take sea water and clean it up so you can use it for food, bathing, etc. Another thing they can do that amazes me is our subs take this water H2O and split the atom. They burn the hydrogen and breath the oxygen. Cool stuff don't you think???
The video mentions nuclear bombs. The bombs we have now days make the ones we dropped on Japan look like firecrackers. I read that our people are working on a new nuke bomb. But there will not be any testing of this series. Too much radiation exposure!!!!! That crap is bad, very BAD!! Cancer causing bad!! Ladies I hope you enjoy this video. It is well done and very informative!!!!! Until the next time, take care and stay safe.
