Why are your favourite RUclipsrs seemingly recycling viral video ideas that have already been published? There's a very simple answer and creators have been 'getting away with it' for years.

ive noticed a big YT steal a video off a small creator. Both videos were well done but since he had such a large base audience his views were huge but the original creator couldn't catch up. System is rigged!! I also preferred the smaller creators original video.

Honestly, it's ridiculous. "Put your own spin on it" needs to go. Everyone is simply pleasing the RUclips algorithm making boring repetitive content. Be yourself and come up with your own ideas. 💪
I'm okay with it if their spin is better.
Or fits their channel theme. Like Magnet Games plays with magnets on his channel, he might, I dunno, use magnetic boots to adhere to the bottom of a pool for 24 hours or something. That's probably a dumb example but it sort of jibes with the theme of his channel while borrowing the underwater stunt idea (I actually think it's hilarious, though I'm too old to not skip right to the end and see if he was successful😅).
And now you see why Hollywood is stuck making the same movies over and over, while indie filmmakers push the envelope. Big companies want big profits, and sterilize projects to make them more palatable for a wider audience. They'll also try to steal concepts from indie movies, but again sterilize them so they're boring.
Support the small guys, they're still creative while the rich guys got rich stealing others ideas to begin with.
I'm okay if they put enough spin on it. But some of these thumbnails and videos are so close that it seems like plagiarism. I'd like there to at least be an attribution in the video when a creator like Mr. Beast steals an idea from a much smaller channel and minimally changes the thumbnail to add his face.
Nothing is new under the sun. Everything is a spin. Might as well get over it
I'm scared of going viral. I'm afraid if I do, I'll just keep trying to chase whatever it was that went viral. I'd rather just grow organically and have a small, loyal audience that grow's along with me.

If you go viral, and then don't, you just keep going with the initial audience, the algorithm is more complex than you think.

I think Viral videos are fine if they line up with your other content. That way people are more likely to subscribe & watch your other stuff.
I have a "viral" video which still gets consistent views to this day. Unfortunately it's not really relevant to my channel & I made it over a year ago so it's not very good. Due to this people don't sub or even consider checking out some of "better" content so it really hasn't helped me much other than watch hours.
I'd recommend keeping on doing what you're doing & only chasing viral content if you think it's worth it. Good luck on your end 😁🤞

I want just want my own ideas to go viral, I want my handwritten audio stories to give vital every time I upload. That's my measure of true success, not rehashing ideas that already went viral. There's no original creativity behind that. That's not true success, not to me, anyway.
I saw this with the Why Files last night.
A year ago, they made a video about how the colour blue was a recent colour the eye can see, this came from false historical facts and from other creators, which another creator debunked rather quickly.
Hello and congratulations on your commitment. My channel is very small...My information and ideas are nowhere to be found (even AI isn't aware LOL). My problem is that if I express my ideas with such a small audience I risk being "robbed" by other much larger channels, thus risking always ending up at the bottom of the can. In my opinion, Efficient ideas only work for large channels.

Ok i understand and all, but based on the method you presented at 3:57, how we can discover the CTR, the AVD and the other factors of OTHER CHANNELS' videos to figure out what worked?

When your tool calculates if a video is an outlier does it then include shorts and long form as the same total? the VidIQ extensions usually calls a video an outlier a lot earlier than the 10x extension, which I am trying to understand.
This types of thumbnails modules work best in some niches, but doesn't make sense in other niches according to my experience. I think the best way is to twist the thumbnail a little bit in some cases🤝👍

This channel needs to create a video on a much stronger pressing problem with RUclips. The Invalid Traffic Bug attacking RUclips creators.
Currently if you have a growing channel chances are you’ve seen a nasty hit in ad revenue. This is because a competitor decided to purchase bot traffic against your channel videos and RUclips automatically flags it thus risking your channel.
Vid IQ is a strong RUclips advocate and needs to address this as hard as possible.
I was going to Like, Subscribe, and Watch, but no content.
Someone completely stole one of my videos and just reupload it onto their channel and pasted their channel name over my video.
How long before all of this borrowing & combining ideas becomes a RUclips copyright issue? Just curious
Hello Everyone. Need a bit help here . When i try to upload a HD short through the YT app it gets only processed till SD whereas when i try to upload it through chrome or studio it gets processed till HD but you dont get to choose a frame for thumbnail and ig we can't use the music as well so i have 2 questions here
1) how can i solve this problem
2) does YT algorithm favours content on the basis of quality (HD or SD) ?

That's true, to be honest I try and do the same, while at the same wondering if I'm doing the right thing.
My channel is a storytelling video based on Project Zomboid, so I try to copy in a ever so slightly the thumbnails that caught my eye. The thing is, at least in the niche I'm trying to work in, it's considered gaming, which is oversaturated. But, not role playing and storytelling inside that niche, since it requires an enourmous amount of editing.
How can I capture that feeling in the thumbnail, letting people know this is not just another playthough?

I'll try using Canvas as you sugested on the second video. I've been using Davinci Resolve just because I'm more used to it, but canvas did look easy enough to be fair.
Can't wait for the A/B testing to be rolled out to us smaller channel creators.

Edit, in the 3rd video there was a mention of shorts. I've been trying to use shorts to get a bit more exposure even though just yesterday on Reddit, I was advised I shouldn't do it as it will hurt me in the long run because of the watch time metric favoring the shorts. BUT. According to my metrics 48% of my viewers are shorts only viewers, and 52% are watching both, and no one is Video only. So how much of truth is behind the argument that doing shorts on a long video channel is harmful, or am I missing something here?

Great ideas! These are the very ideas I applied to my last video that helped my channel grow 10% more over the weekend! It's a goldmine! As the video says, we all need to also remember to always "add your own twist."
While I understand the point about creators drawing inspiration from successful content, I think the framing of "stealing ideas" is a bit sensationalized. Inspiration and outright plagiarism are two different things. Creators often build upon existing concepts, adding their own unique perspectives and twists. This is how creative industries evolve and innovate. Let's focus on celebrating originality and constructive adaptation rather than throwing around accusations of theft.
If you look at the thumbnail for this video of a train headed for a pit, I think it's pretty clear Mr. Beast walks right up to the line of stealing the thumbnail idea. There's a tiny bit of color change and he slaps his face on it. Colloquially calling that stealing the thumbnail idea seems completely fair to me.
Obviously, some thumbnails come closer to that line than others.

I get the logic behind copying other people's ideas/content but it's not something I feel comfortable doing. I'd rather stay unpopular & still have my integrity than make it big by stealing from people more creative than me.
Really average joe Mentality, you can't succeed on yt bruh. Listen, even if you don't want anyone there are hundreds of thousands of people who already made a video similar to yours unintentionally, so there is actually nothing original because youtube is very big platform you can't be unique. So it's better to copy as inspiration and made content that get views than with unappealing videos which no one liked to watch.

Ironic because this video recycles the same boring editing that people like Sunnyv2 do. Same Grey and grid background with zoomer retention editing. So many channels copy this, it's getting boring

Honestly those are really impressive stats, it stems based off the topic or sub topic of the video if it is popular with the viewer or not. There are many factors but keywords in the title, tags and hashtags are all important, usually it comes with popular pieces of content with smaller quantities.
