@mariojoos can you help me with my channel. How do I contact you in relation to this ?
Social proof does exist indeed and is a big barrier for creators to get views.
yep for streaming and youtube
I actually do find myself choosing to watch some videos because they dont have a lot of views. Its fun and sometimes you'll find someone whos actually really good
Thanks for pointing this out. I actually do the exact same thing... I'm more of a small channel supporter than the other way around.
I thought I was the only one doing this. I've found some great channels with like 6 views.
Done Please 🖤✅🖤✅✅
I wish there's more people like yall, my channel is still small and the growth is slooww
Thumbnail packaging has been one of the hardest parts of the whole RUclips thing for me, thank you for this easy to digest info!
Thank you as always, great tips. I especially like the one at the end about cutting the video off while the energy is still high. I am going to use that more consciously in future videos.
This stuff is true people go by perception and most people tend to be followers....so if it "looks" like its a big channel with lots of views whether its good or not people will most likely click on it. It makes it harder for smaller channels that are actually good. Even some ig accounts do this, rent a lambo and take pics to "appear" like they are wealthy to get more likes and build a following smh.
I always find that my videos get a huge impressions spike after a few hours. If I can get a good enough ctr during that the impressions just keep coming!
Always could be one video away from going viral, keep going guys!
loved this video thanks guys
king words thanks

So much valuable content in one video. Was able to take a lot with me...even as a small channel. Thank you for sharing!
Always love logging on to my computer and finding a new vidiq video....... Unfortunately I end up watching this instead of editing my videos.....
😂same here.
is it just me or is there something wierd with the audio?
Thankyou both for the video ...social proof and storytelling were the two i was able to take away ...thankyou so much ❤
Banger video today 🔥 thank you for the awesome info
Think about Netflix or Hulu there is no like counts. Thumbnail is the driving of discovery there 🤔. Word of mouth does exist though.
Thanks for sharing very helpful information 😊
Well said friend, your content is always amazing and I appreciate it every post!
The best tips in the game. I’m almost at 400 subscribers 🎉!
Congrats!
You got another one. Keep at it. Glad i left cali but i love its food and mountans (born in sonora)

@@DreamFireNostalgia Agree! Food and geographical locations make CA. Thank you.
Thanks for the informative video - FYI the irony for me was in the Audience Segmentation part, your first callout was Visuals. I'm red-green colour blind, and when you "highlighted" the top 3 from the list, I couldn't see the difference visually. OK going back and pausing I could see a very slight difference between the top 3 and the others, but not much. Anyway, food for thought!
Here's are some tips that relate to this video and by importance:
1) THUMBNAIL: What kind of channel are you and who are you making videos for. You don't need a fancy thumbnail if you're not going to edit heavy and it's more of a relaxed kind of video. Example Moist Critikal and news channels still get views.
2) TITLE: Try to make the best title and it's really a make or break situation regardless of your content. If you're a small channel and you're making a big/edited video make sure you think of the best everything from the title, description to tags.
3) BRANDING: Make sure to set up your channel settings and other stuff like banner and profile picture. Try to make it as professional as possible and high quality so viewers want to subscribe or watch more videos. If you set a video to play on your channel page it instantly shows them what kind of content you make without them having to look for it. Also, don't make a channel trailer since they are outdated. Just put your latest video or one you want to get more traffic. Finally put your most popular videos tab on your channel page so viewers can see that you can get a lot of views and you're just trying to get into the algorithm.
I would also like to comment on somethings from this video that I've noticed from a personal standpoint to a viewer. Social proof is a problem because we are not looking for "new" creators. We are looking for video or content from someone who already has a trusted audience. So, with that being said if you video does not take off after the first day and the seo is complete then you messed up on your title/thumbnail and unless the algorithm picks it up again you can still change them and pray it starts getting views again. So post when your audience is online and watch your own video/like/comment so it knows that someone watched it right away and engaged with it.
Love the channel and always watch for new youtube news I should be aware of. Can't wait to get the a/b thumbnail feature so I can test them and get more views/subs!!!
@@juanchopestudios can you explain more in depth? What rules and what mistakes. I also always try to not be biased and i've been on yt for 12 years.
Thank you
This is great information. I always use end cards and often point towards the next vid or a knife (I'm a horror channel) spins and points to the next vid.
Great tips ❤😊, certainly gonna utilize this
Really good content with lots of actionable tips. Great work!
Great interview 🎉
This was such an amazing video from start to end... some great insights! (Using them effectively might not be that easily, but great insights nevertheless!) 😊
Thanks for the video! I learnt a lot from Mario!

Yes. Social proof is rarely noticed consciously, but definitely has a huge impact.
I agree: I study analytics a lot and CTR doesn’t mean anything if views are low.
BUT: for visuals being the most important for retention…. I disagree as a consumer: you can have a good visual but if you have bad sound it’s over.
They give you impressions as many youtubers succeed. The problem could be the topic of your videos/channel that is mainly reflected in your title@@juanchopestudios

Very interesting perspective!
thankyou for sharing .it's helpful 👍
An easy hack for a good tittle and thumbnail is this. Think of the tittle as the reason why a viewer might be interested in the video and the thumbnail as something that serves to make them curious. I think of the thumbnail as something that serves to make the viewer raise questions, naturally, human beings are creatures of curiosity hence the viewer clicking the video to satisfy their curiosity. Even though the title is important, the thumbnail is what will set you apart from someone doing the same video as you.
That video was above par, the social proof discussion was food for thought ...
The hidden views might be a good experiment for RUclips to really see how/what small, underrated or undiscovered channels' quality of making videos actually are. Since views relate to the clickability of the video, if everything is just thumbnails and titles, imagine how much more smaller channels gain views and bigger channels having lower views than they are always having.
Seems like a good indicator if a video is really good or bad, not based on the views rather than hiding the like and dislike video which was a good indicator if a video is also good or bad.

This is the first comment on this video!!! 😁
Congratulations 🎉
Definitely is key to keep things fresh!!
Everyone says go first but I’m going to say second because I’m different
Great tips! We will make it this year 🙌
I think my brain exploded, some really useful insights there.....cheers
Thank you! It was very interesting!
Thank you for Useful Information 👍 🙏 😀 ❤💛💜
Very educational !
this discussion is a great enlightenment for small creators like me, thank you for sharing. . .
I like your video and keep up the good work
Thank you for this kind of content! For a channel that is changing niche like me this is very helpful, looking forward to see more similar content🙏
I would start a new channel completely. 377k subs and 100 views? That's about the lowest ratio I have ever seen. You'll get far more views starting over. In my personal opinion.
My VIsIQ fam, thank you for yet another awesome video. Very much appreciated!!
Thanks for information
Thank you! 👍👍👍
loved this episode :) its a long road to get to grow on youtube ^^
I just don't understand how you can find a content gap.
You are the content gap.
@bluntpathway that's a Keanu grade comment there. 🤗
PLEASE, just do your own thing and don't look back. The news groomers in the screen room will eventually train you to use code words. Your audience will only grow and stick around if they feel like they could be hanging in the same room with you discussing whatever you're discussing. Nobody wants to hang out with a slick overproduced person.
This is true, people are getting tired of the overly planned videos, some videos are starting to sound the same.
True but RUclips is hard to talked about especially since you have your own search engine that’s official.
I also I think he just talks about RUclips I mean his channel is about RUclips.
Well Rob we started our channel Jan 8 and had 8 subs in our first week THEN we hooked up with vidiq and think media and well... its sixty something days later and we have 6K+ subs! Your methods are true. We are now qualified to create a how to video of our own now!
What you said about social proof is 100% true for me. Seems like I'm on the wrong side here^^ Anyway, great video!
This was a very valuable video
Spot On
In the last three months I have gotten over one thousand Subscribers Just got serious and things took off. Have had the channel like 2 years, but was never serious until about 4 months ago. Now I'm taking vid classes and they are helping a lot. Thank you guys for helping us little channels out you rock.
Hi, can you please share from where ur taking video classes. Awaiting your reply
vidiq
I noticed the change in the thumbnail. It was Mr Beast on the left, wasn't it? 🤔
This social proof concept is very real and put small creators in a tough position. Large creators will always have an advantage over small creators.
Thanks you guys vidiq 🎉! You helped me gain millions of views from your tips! Your amazing! 👍
Algorithm is the people...the subscribers and views
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
it all feels harder than 3 years ago when i started
Can someone tell me why I can't use the hashtags feature I've been paying 50 per month to use? It's changed now ..Can someone tell me please?
You know these tips actually work it's trying to be out of business
Went viral couple days ago. The big one is yet to come🔥
Great video as always! ❤❤
How can I get my channel back ,it’s terminated pls help
social proof is why music channels benefit from view botting
I wonder if I should mention kn every video that I'm actually a master of psychology and base my videos on research. That's not another bullsh*t psychology cashgrab. How do i make it well without making it annoying, tho?
I haven't got the thumbnail feature 😕
Social proof in regards to view count is based on generation, I think. Younger people talk about this a lot more, so it seems to matter more to some groups than others. Personally, I don't click based on views.
I come here every time I think of quitting. I’m grateful for all the info. ❤
I am happy to be among the first 1k viewers😂
Nice tip
Ur videos are very helpful ❤ can u make a video on how to be consistent and gain infinite 💡 (ideas)
Good stuff.
I need this guy. I can't pay anything because I'm a tiny channel but have plenty of Ramen Noodles
You could make better, longer vids, and vidIQ can help you with that.
I got a decent improvement in my thumnails and ctr kinda look good now . But my retention seems very low . Video is exactly what i promise through my thumnails and title but viewers dont watch for long idk why. Will try out some stuff in future vids to improve 👍
If your subs are shorts viewers then...
@@WaywardZombie subs are short viewers but they most of them aren't watching my long vids . 95% of my long vid audience is new viewers . Need to improve my editing significantly ig 🥲
@@WaywardZombie no. My short subs barely watch long vids . They all r new viewers. Recent vid stats - Almost 11min long vid, 72% still watch at 0:30 mark and 34% watch till end . I think its a decent improvement for me on the hook but then the retention just keeps falling until 1:45 min and then barely any dip in retention until end
This is great advice! My views and subscribers have stagnated in the past couple days so im looking for anything that could help me to keep growing. Thanks for the great content vidiq and keep creating everyone!
Great tips 😊and yeah social proof does exist :(
Vid iq please can you make a video for live streamers we don’t have many out there on RUclips and the demand is very high Thankyou!
I want to see a vid about building a thumbnail cause I’m struggling for those clicks
Thanks for the tips! I'm bringing life back into my youtube channel trying to pass the 1000 subscriber mark. Staying Curious :)
Thank you Vidiq ❤
RUclips has started to suggest videos to me with low views, and I must say the topics are on point but the production value is almost always very very low.
Wow 💯 I love this
Nice content
I'm guilty of falling into the social proof trap. I research a lot of programming tutorials and I generally look at the view count as a go/no-go test. The exception to that rule is when only one creator has posted a video covering the topic I was looking for.
Social proof is real! When I see a good thumbnail and title, I unconsciously look at the upload date then the numbers of views. It make me wonder what YT's intent was, originally, to publicly tag that metric to each video. When I see a good thumbnail and title, I unconsciously look at the upload date then the numbers of views. I usually still watch but I assume most people will skip over it for a video with a higher view count.
Thank you
*Thanks for 0 like and 0 subscribers* 😅
Curiosity Haaaa,that's lit
You spelled research wrong btw on the video as Reseach
"life anew!"
I'm gonna need to come back and rewatch this video. There's a lot here.
2:32 Should it be "What are titles that are good at making people click?" or "What titles are good at making people click?" I didn't notice till I paused 🤣🤣🤣🤣
There's one mistake in this video, that I found out. If you have an endscreen, talk about it, call to action etc... your average viewtime decreases a lot. I removed talking about it, and get much better results.
I need help all of a sudden my short videos have stopped being pushed out to the short shelf, even to my subscribers what is going on I’ve tried uploading five different videos. Nothing is getting pushed out
