I watched it last night and I am so happy they did right by Togo and his owner.
Left me in tears. Togo , the most heroic animal known in history indeed.

And the statue of Balto at New York. It was sad that Togo didn’t get recognized till like, A DECADE later. I always looked up to balto... what a huge disappointment. Togo is my new favorite animal hero, along with Spirit, and a book character that also died a hero

This movie is breathtaking! All those dogs are heroes but glad to see Togo finally getting the recognition he deserved! Amazing!
being a musher myself, and knowing some of the dog people involved behind the scenes, I loved the movie - it's the first time I've seen or heard of Julianne Nicholson - I was very impressed with her and her performance and I hope this movie leads to other starring roles for her

for sure - at the IFSS World Championships there are teams from countries around the world, from both the southern and northern hemispheres - it's actually a growing sport with 1000 s of sled dog kennels in the US and Canada ( IFSS = International Federation of Sleddog Sports )

they've been trying, but they use mis-information in their claims - they seem to be losing headway with sled dog kennels and now the law is stepping in and starting to lay charges for illegal trespass - had some of t he crazy AR types target my kennel with lies and phony BS, but the SPCA and my vet backed us all the way, to say nothing of the 100's of people that we do business with or had come for sleddog rides, who all made positive comments about the kennel - the AR crazies seemed to fade away after that - they pull all sorts of BS - the woman who started the target against us admitted later that she had lied so she could pose as a volunteer and 'gather evidence' - he evidence included a picture of one dog's days worth of dog poop that she had volunteered to pick up - the kennel is cleaned daily as a matter of practice so she had to manufacture evidence lol - it was a stressful period for us, but rewarding on the other hand to see the amount of positive support we had

I just watched "Togo". The end credits are rolling as I speak and paused this video at the :03 mark.
I had to let anyone curious about the move that it is fantastic. Willem Defoe's acting is great and the story and directing are just as fantastic. If you're a dog lover, this is a movie for you.

I have watched this movie. It was fantastic. I did not know Julianna as a actor. She proved herself as an amazing. Actress. Best scene when Tōgō came out of the roof and she says Good Afternoon . I loved the scene of Tōgō causing Dafoe into the lake. I have watched it over a dozen times. Told so many to watch. Good family movie.

IT IS VERY POWERFUL FOR ME WHEN THEY CROSS THE LAKE THE FIRST TIME AND HE SINGS TO THE DOGS. AMAZING. DYSNEY'S ESSENCE STILL LIVES.
What a great movie. I have been a fan of Willem Dafoe since the early 80`s,when he had the role of Raven in the Bombers MC from Streets of fire movie and the sledgehammer fight is just great. Leonhard Seppala is my great grandfathers couisin,from the north of Norway where he was born and i am from. Willem looks quite a bit like him in person and i think he was a good choice actor for this part. He is great in anything he does on the screen anyway.

I guess Seppala now got what he truly deserve as well, and Togo too..now they can have the recognition they deserve..Togo the starter, Balto the finisher..they are all heroes lets not forget

The only thing that gets to me is credit was not given to credit due for Togo's team.
Even until today it has not been fully rectified yet to the public.
Not taking anything away from Willem, who was brilliant, Julianne was perfect.

I did too , I think Togo should of been the dog in the statue in central park , but the movie undermined a bit what balto did , he rode 80 miles to arrive to Nome in a full blizzard while his trainer couldn't see anything so balto guided them 80 miles relying only on his scent .

Balto is still a good doggo but I'm glad Togo got his moment in the spotlight.
I don't think anyone should get mad about hearing about Balto, should Togo have gotten the statue? Sure, he did the hardest and most work after all, but it isn't a competition, the only reason that serum ever got delivered was because of teamwork, without Balto, Togo and all of the other dogs, many many people would've died, both of them are incredible dogs with incredible stories.
@@chefmike8177 I'm with you it is sad Togo didn't get his true recognition but thanks to Disney he sure is now. You are right lets not hate on a dog that did work hard too and is not guilty of anything other than being a team player.
As far as I can tell Balto was still one of Leonard's dogs
saw it on utube, 3xs. didn't know it was copyrighted and shouldnt be on..........this movie is great going to buy it

Didn't let them work in -40! I had to stand outside of school in a uniform skirt for 30 minutes every morning before they would let us in at -40 lolol
One of my all-time favourite films was "The Hunter" (2011). It's about Willem's character searching for the last remaining Tasmanian Tiger (which is known to be extinct) for a biotech corporation. It's an incredibly moving film and I highly recommend people to watch it (for a film buff, it's quite slow for the average viewer).

@Steam Queen Seppala said that Togo's taxidermy was incredibly well done when he went to go see it himself in the 60s, I personally think it's a fantastic way to honor such incredible dogs.
@Steam Queen I'm sure that's because people continously were able to ''pet'' it and pull out fur out of the dead body.
Great movie. The only problem I have is the VIP treatment given to animals that people never got. I do believe in animal abuse, but after hearing this, they say you can abuse anyone human and keep them going, but when it comes to animals, don't let them get scratch
