I just finished watching the movie, iam crying for half an hour I can say that this is one of the best movies i have ever watched , dafoe deserves the oscar.
me too, got home from the gym to chill and watch a movie, ended up being more exhausted from the movie then the gym ^^ magnificent acting and a beautiful story, i wish you a good 2020 my dear :)
yes, and whoever was that idiot reporter? Shame on him. He did not do his job properly. Just asked the first man he saw with a dogsled bringing in the serum his name and his lead dog's name. That's it. He did not use his brain, thinking this guy does not look as tired and dishevelled as he should have been if he trekked through the storm in ice and snow for 600 miles. ha,ha,ha! So are they going to put a plaque under Balto's statue explaining the error and naming Togo as the true dog hero? he,he,he ...
Great, great movie. Been raising Siberians since 98' and I love this movie. Constance...beautiful and strong. TOGO....when Sepalla at the end says, " he left us on a Thursday in December." Killed me. Needed to be in IMAX.
Me too. Just adopted a husky, he is the light of my life. Have never been so close, so bonded with another animal ever. He’s just about to turn 3, have had him 3 months. Hubby and I watched this a few days before we met him, and again, about a week ago. Cried the first time. Balled my head off the second time, once I knew him.
They were perfectly cast actors. Disney, this movie need an Imax release in cinema in part for the beauty of the outdoor. I would have like to hear from Togo the actor dog too in the interview ? Where is he ?
"I always thought Togo lived for the sleds but actually he lived for me." Anyone who has ever owned a loyal and loving dig knows exactly what this means.
Julianne played an incredible role in my eyes, to be a tough and resourceful frontier woman, while at the same time displaying this soft, perceptive, intuitive feminine genius was real plausible acting
Cool thing the part of the movie where he threw togo inland and pulled the sled from the ice on the water actually happened and togo also did actually jump through glass at another owners home to run back to his masters kennel.
Have watched this movie so many times ......my SO told me I need institutionalized. Bahaha. Just love this movie. Great script, acting and beautiful country. ❤️
Salute and Respect for Togo and also for all of the dogs or huskies that are part of that sled team who saves the Nome during that epidemic . Run free Togo and all of the bravest dogs in the world
Really great movie. I like it a lot. I found it interesting and pretty sad actually that both Willem and Julianne obviously aren’t happy that Togo is only available to Disney+ subscribers. I think that sucks. I want a 4K disc of it.
You all mentioned of Togo the remarkable Husky. But there was other Huskies involved in the journey which took over 300 miles bring the serum to Nome. I think we should give credit to all the dogs that was involved not just Togo. Yes Togo was the leader of the pack. I had watched the movie and it had me in tears also laughter when Togo was a puppy. I agree the movie should have award for the hard work that was involved.
I composed a kick-ass response to Lorraine’s comment and thought I posted it, but I don’t see it. I’ll try to recreate as best I can. The movie, of course, was about Togo because it is believed he never received the recognition he deserved for the amazing effort he made during the serum run of 1925. The length of the trip to bring relief to Nome was 674 miles altogether. Twenty mushers and over 150 dogs, four of which died in the attempt, participated. I agree that every dog, EVERY ONE OF THEM, was a hero, the lead dogs, in particular, were of the utmost importance and had to display many talents that the other dogs lacked (confidence and motivation, agility, strength, ability to lead and control the other dogs in the team, problem-solving intelligence, stamina, and an innate sense of hazards such as thin or cracking ice, and the capacity to ignore a musher’s command that might lead the team into danger). The fact that Togo was a small dog (approximately 45 lbs) compared to the breed standard of 50-65 lbs and was 12 years old at the time of the run make his accomplishment all the more incredible. Balto, also one of Seppala’s dogs, was a good lead dog as well but largely untested, especially in such wicked conditions, and his leg of the run presented few problems (he was able to recover the trail when his musher, Gunnar Kaasen, was forced to go off-trail because of snowbanks too large to negotiate). Many, including Seppala, felt that Balto received more recognition than he deserved. The average leg of the journey was 31 miles, and in all, Togo ran 264 miles (including his own leg of 91 miles over the most treacherous part of the trail) in the effort to bring the serum to Nome. I think this is why telling his story was so important. Just a thought and worth what you paid for it.
@@sunrisefe thanks! The entire ordeal was emotional to me. Imagine losing a child, healthy one week, dead a week later after suffering terribly. Nome leaders were asking men to risk their lives (and their livelihoods as well, since they couldn’t work without their dogs should something happen to them), but everyone worked together to save not only the kids in Nome, but those in the surrounding native villages as well. Can you tell I’m a Seppala nerd? 😃
Have watched this twice now, once, two days before adopting our husky, second was about a week ago, after husky and our family have bonded. The first time, I cried. The second time, I balled my head off for half an hour. I absolutely love my baby boy, he is the best, smartest, sweetest boy, and this movie felt like a punch to the gut. A beautiful film, well done and so glad they told Togo’s story 💖 What a good boy!
I just finished watching this movie in my fire stick and was sooo glad that is was a clear picture and not bootleg quality considering some movies are that way when they first come out...and I love the cartoon movie balto already... I was balling like crazy.... loved it
Formidable actor y formidable actriz, interpretaron perfecto sus papeles, Willem me transmitio en todo momento sus sentimientos a travez de la pantalla, una gran pelicula espero que sea nominada para algunos premios de la academia.
I just watch Togo then call of wild both incredible I know ppl are not happy with the CGI in COTW BT if you over look that it's a pretty great movie..#staysafe everybody
@@j.s.5229 you're welcome. Balto is more famous because it completed the last leg, entering into Nome, but Togo's team did the first three quarters. Watch the movie, Daefoe is spectacular in this one.
This movie has me on the edge of my seat! This movie is by far in my top 5 favorites. Acting was amazing and just the movie is whole was phenomenal. That lake part was just heart pounding. The speech was beautiful. Does anyone know what speech he was reciting to the dogs? Is that from the book?
The speech is a modified version of the St. Crispin's Day speech from Shakespeare's Henry V. The passage that the Dr. reads to the girl in the hospital "....to sleep, to sleep" is a passage written by Alfred Tennyson for The Foresters--Robin Hood & Maid Marion"--Act I, Scene III--The Outlawry." To sleep! to sleep! The long bright day is done, And darkness rises from the fallen sun. To sleep! to sleep! Whate’er thy joys, they vanish with the day; Whate’er thy griefs, in sleep they fade away. To sleep! to sleep! Sleep, mournful heart, and let the past be past! Sleep, happy soul! all life will sleep at last. To sleep! to sleep!
The sentiment in the St. Crispin's Day speech reminds me so much of the "Braveheart" speech before that Scottish battle against the English, where they were also outnumbered.

The speech that Dafoe made to the dogs when the ice started braking got me some serious chills
Amazing performance
Best scene ❤️
Adapted from "Henry V", but with tons more heart than I've ever heard.
I was bawling! I’m so glad they’re setting the story straight with Togo being the true Balto! A must watch. Amazing Job!

Togo deserves his Statue in Central Park. Balto 50 miles, Togo 250 miles.
Agreed
Hea why they don't change that

Togo deserved to have a monument as well and be recognized equally like Balto.
He deserves more recognition than Balto!

he really does look a lot like the Norwegian musher who loved and trained Togo in real life. Good casting
