Thanks for mentioning stabilization. I’m coming from the GoPro world & having a difficult time keeping my Sony ZV-E10 steady. The GoPro stabilization is so good & I never realized how much of an “action shooter” I am.

No worries ON - there's nothing like GoPro levels on most 'proper' cameras, but catalyst stabilisation gets to a good level on the recent Sonys. Happy this one was helpful:) Consider subbing if you like the content and have an awesome day!

Thank you for the suggestion, could we get a RUclips setup tutorial? I want to know how to get colours in the background of my video and get that cinematic look

How's the auto focus of sigma compare to sony 50mm f1.8

  • @mihaiserbanescu8676

I must say, I'm not a fan of the autofocus on its brother the 16mm f1.4. It takes a long time to get the focus, sometimes it doesn't at all. I had none of these issues on native Sony lenses. In your area, I tried to create a transition from that Thames concrete facade to the ship at the sugar factory. Well, if the concrete is not 100% out of the picture, there is no way it's gonna focus on that ship. I found that quite frustrating. The 18-105 didn't have this issue. Also, if I listen closely to it, it sounds like it is continously micro adjusting the focus or something. It is never settled. Maybe my copy is bad but wasn't impressed so far with the focus capabilities. On the other hand there is no way to use F1.4 during the day, either because it will produce an over exposed image or because the background blur is so strong that it's too much. In low light though, the F1.4 it is very welcome. Overexposing during the day could potentially be avoided by setting the camera in aperture mode, or with an ND filter.

Hey Mihai, totally agree with analysis of shooting in bright conditions - I typically use aperture priority and or ND as you suggest. Interesting on focus - my 16mm is close to or equal to my better performing Sony lenses so it may be I got lucky or just haven't encountered the same problematic situations - weird. Mine also seems to be silent so perhaps it is worth seeing if you can try another copy - hope it gets resolved one way or another!
Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend:)

@@dbvares8745 I might give amazon a call to return or exchange this copy. Though, I am impressed with some of the images it produced. The background blur is in time of need quite impressive and the fact you can shoot in really dark situations is very useful. Though that focus, kinda slow. I also tried to change the focus from some of the plants on the building behind in the same area, it took a bit too long to do it. It surprised me as perfect focus is what Sony's do

Your camera is has a full frame sensor while this particular lens is an APS-C lens and for crop sensors. You can still use it with your camera though but it will be cropped.
