I recently found your channel and have been binge watching your videos. Funny/cute story- my grandmother recently passed away at 94. She was a very accomplished at crocheting and as a little girl I was amazed at watching her crochet as she sat in front of the tv, the hairdresser, in the car etc. She took her crochet bag EVERYWHERE and I was completely enthralled ar watching the speed at which she could crochet while not even looking down at her hands. She could whip out the most beautiful afghans, shawls and shrugs in no time it seemed. I was so interested in what she was doing that I begged her to try and teach me. She sat me down and we had such a hard time because she was left handed and I was right handed. I first learned how to crochet everyone’s first product, a very long and wonky strand 😂. As soon as I got that down and started connecting these strands my family moved to the other side of the country, from NY to CA. Although we visited often over the years I was never able to pick up crocheting from her and it has been a long time regret.
Fast forward to now, I’ve been teaching myself how to crochet and am getting better everyday. I’ve made several items and am ready to start the project that I’ve been longing to make. My grandmother was an avid collector of owls. Every year, for birthdays and holidays I’d get her some kind of owl figurine or collectible. Now that I’ve been crocheting for a bit I want to make a yarn own to put up on a shelf by some of my beloved grandmas treasures. As I typed into the RUclips search bar “crochet yarn owl” to get some inspiration your channel was the second video listed. Intrigued, I pushed play and have been learning so much from this channel.
Anyway, just thought I’d share that as I find it interesting how people end up finding things they connect with. Thank you for sharing your channel, experience and ideas. Much love ❤
