    i LOVE this pattern! made one for myself, made a second for my mom. then when i was *almost* done w the second one i realized how i could modify the pattern into a semicircle to be more like a shawl instead. i frogged the almost finished blanket and made the semicircle version. zero regrets, its insanely beautiful and i have plans to now make ANOTHER in a semicircle style for myself. even then i know that wont be the last i make this pattern! its too good!

      I would love to know how you modified it. I love to make shawls

      @@TheChemistryTutor so it's worked in rows instead of in the round. Everything is the exactly the same except for the stitch count. You just do half the stitches as written, turn your work, and move on to the next row in your project, round in the written pattern. I did not write my modifications down as it was simple enough for me to do all in my head so my apologies if this wasn't very helpful

    • @TheChemistryTutor
      @TheChemistryTutor 2 года назад

      @@28pinkdancer thank you that is very helpful!! I just want to make sure I got it right you did the same exact stich work just have the number of stitches?

    • @28pinkdancer
      @28pinkdancer 2 года назад +2

      @@TheChemistryTutor if i remember correctly, yes! its been a little while since i made one so i cant remember exactly. however, i know for sure that if the "set up" rounds are done correctly then the rest will fall into place. so it's not like youll get halfway through the project and realize you need to frog.

    Not only is this a gorgeous piece, but I could listen to you talk all day. You have such a soothing voice that also has personality. So rare these days. You should consider making a little money by reading for audio books.
    I'm ordering the yarn and starting this ASAP!

    I used the first 11 rounds of yours and adjusted the 12th one to my own pattern resulting in a 11" doily. I made two of these in a multicolor bright yarn for my daughter-in-law as she requested. NOW, I want to get whirled yarn and follow the rest of the steps and make a lap blanket for myself. Thank you. You are a wonderful instructor. These are amazing tutorials.

      As long as you use the correct stitch count. It should lay flat. I think she said that you should have 12 flower petals after this tutorial. And the following rows will lay flat.

The first 6 rows can be used as gorgeous coasters using cotton yarn. I love the lace look to it and if you make it a bit bigger could make lovely placemats as well to match. So many things with this starting pattern. Lovely, thank you

    Row 7 ~ 27:19
    I lost my spot ... 😆
    Row 8 ~ 30:56 was the round I was looking for, not 7 ughhhh lol
    Row 9 ~ 34:00
    Row 10 ~ 37:09
    Woo hoo!! I actually made it this far!!
    I am absolutely loving how it's turning out. I don't have the same yarn as the whirl as I can't find it where I live, so I am using single skeins of yarn in the same shades of pinks and then I'll change it to a lemon and then the greens and teal blue colour. 💖

Your voice is soothing and whilst I am crocheting a granny square baby blanket I am watching your vids. I can't wait to watch the second part of this Lotus Flower Blanket. When I am finished with a a few of the projects I am working on ... I think I have six at the moment ... I am going to purchase one of those gradient yarn cakes. I have been eyeing them for quite a while but I am a solid yarn kinda gal and gradient seems a bit out of control for me but I shall try at least once. I am thinking also that this pattern would be gorgeous in a finer weight yarn like sock weight. It would take forever to finish but how beautiful your intricate pattern would be.

    Your blanket is beautiful. One thing I have been doing this summer is making mandalas and I find that mandala patterns are a great way to make a circle blanket because the counting of stitches is symmetrical and very easy to follow.

    This blanket is gorgeous! I was looking through their color selection and thought that if you could use this color yarn to make a beautiful lotus look that the dark grape squish yarn worked from the inside out would make a cool amethyst geode look.

      They have the MOST amazing colour selections - have you seen the yellow to grey one? Stunning!

    Trying my hand at this. I am actually using a different yarn from the one in your pattern (shimmer nights by Lion Brand). I have had this yarn for over a year which I bought for a project but changed my mind about doing. Shall upload a photo for you when completed.

    Absolutely gorgeous piece and lovely tutorial! I WISH those swirl yarns were available at any kind of reasonable price here in California ($32 a skein!), but I’m going to try with a Bernat Pop! or a Caron Cake. Absolutely love this, and your voice and manner are so soothing and gentle. Thank you!

    If you didn’t have the blue on the outside and you put some black sequins throughout the pink it could be a really cool watermelon pattern! I think I might try this for a nice summer blanket for my hammock. Nice pattern!

    Okay people! I wanted to try this blanket and so I got the yarn that she recommends for it. To me it's more like string then yarn. It is sooooo thin! It's 60% cotton and 40% acrylic. But the colors are stunning. I got 5 skeins of them, in different colors of course. I ordered it from the site Robin stated and it came pretty quickly. No issues.
    Wish me luck! I will let you know how it turns out!
