Ms Robin - I cannot express in words how much I appreciate your manner of teaching us how to crochet 'any' project!!!!!!!!!🤗 You are soooooo patient and understanding of what we need to see 👀and understand. I am so impressed by your skills! PLEASE, PLEASE, keep that same demeanor!! We benefit soooo much! A very dear friend wants me to crochet a brightly colored polka dot, granny squared throw and the source that she saw the 'throw' did not have a tutorial. So, what did I do - I searched as always for projects Hooked by Robin, and I found this tutorial that gave me perfect instructions and visuals. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Ms Robin!!!!! Keep Up the Good Work for as long as possible. 💞
Thank you. I started crocheting in March 2024. I have made my first SC blanket and I am on my next blanket which is being made with Bernat blanket yarn with HDC. This will be my next crochet project 🎉Perfect for my stitch journey.
Oh this is fabulous. ❤ I am currently busy making a blanket with the flower motive squares, and loving it. Once I am done, I will most definitely do the circles for my next project. Thank you Robin. ❤ You are the best. 🎉
I just absolutely adore this! I made one a few years ago but with chunky verbatim blanket. I have so many colours of leftover dk in my stash you have inspired me to make another one!!! Fab tutorial, thank you so much 🤩
I love polka dot square blankets need to restock up on yarn im stii doing your festival blanket getting yarn for that and done all my practice squares. Loving it this is next . Still doing your pretty puff flower one too . Do stop tempting me with your lovely patterns i have to give in lol. Xx
Your taste is almost identical to mine. The squares in picasso got me back to wanting to do crochet! And your slight accent makes it even more pleasant to watch you ! I'm across the pond in Texas. You would probably giggle at my accent. I was born here. Can't help it. 😊❤ Thanks for another pretty project I'll get to eventually. I have 5 ahead of this one!
Robin, absolutely love 💕 this pattern! It’s a great stash buster and a great idea for Christmas. I’m using white as the square off color/sew together so that’s the only new skein I had to buy.
Oh you’ve been in my mind! I keep saying I want to do this! I even made a few from other tutorials. I’m so glad I procrastinated long enough to see yours 😂😁
I made my great niece a blanket of these using gray circles, and making the rest of the square (background) from different colors 😊. They hadn't done a gender reveal yet when I made it 🤓. It's my niece's {the babies aunt} favorite blanket 😍. Thea is 9 months old now and likes to put her piggys through the holes 😂. I'll have to make her a new one using this tutorial with 🩷/lavender 🪻 or purple 💜 next. Thank you for the refresher Robin! 🤓
@@HookedbyRobin 😂 I wish I knew how to post or send a picture of her! She's got a tooth now, and said "Dada" for the first time the night before last 😍❤️. She's my nephew's daughter. Thea has said "Mama" my sister lmk first, which is understandable bc she's with her mom all day 🤓every day.
I love this. I am new to crochet (avid knitter). I am fine until.it comes to creating that last treble at the end of the 1st round border square. I end up with a massive corner hole and then when ending the 2nd round of half dcs to conclude the square same issue 😢. Any thoughts? So glad I found your channel. You are a very good and clear teacher ❤. Thanks so much x🎉
I've made it already I made them larger though and they turned out pretty well I've got about four of them made so far I just started them yesterday and I've been working on them off and on but I went larger than you made them and it's doing pretty well it took me a few minutes to figure out how much I need to go around but it worked out and I actually left you a picture of it on your blog .
Yes I just kept going around and the third round she has double in one and regular crochet in the other one in other words you would double crochet two times in one then double crochet two times etc and then the third one the 5th one that I did I double crocheted in one stitch and I went three double crochets and so on.
I just wonder if you could start each round with a stacked single crochet instead of the chain two that doesn’t count, but does create a visible line that shows where each round begins. It would make it more seamless.
Love this and have made my first square successfully. I have joined heaps of traditional Granny Squares but I'm thrown with this as it's finished off with half doubles. . Guess I'm a monkey see, monkey do person. Will endeavour to work it out as i love this tutorial but if you could do a quick joining tutorial to join these exact square types that would be helpful for dummies like me. I really do enjoy your tutorials so thank you from Australia 🇦🇺
Is there an alternative to the standing treble? Mine keeping ending up with a gap and loop? Otherwise I absolutely love this tutorial! I’m having the best time making my circles! Thank you!!!
I have a newbie type question. If the two chains you make after the slip stitch, in the circle, do not count as a DC, why do them? Can't you just put your DC(s) in that same stitch you put the slip stitch in?
Hi Robyn. I am currently making this but am wondering if I make the circles bigger, by say three more rounds, how would I adapt the ‘squaring’ off two rows?? Thanks
Hi Robin. I love this pattern.i was wondering how you would square off the circle after the beginning circle. I have tried many times and can seem to make it work. Thanks so much .

This is my next project🥰! You are such a good teacher🥰
Thank you so much!😃🥰
Can I replace 4 chains in the beginning with a magic ring? I think it would look neater
Yes absolutely 😀
Try it and see, it should be fine though. I will be doing a continuous circle for this one.
Love it, love it! Did I tell you that I love it❤😂
I love it, I love it, I love it. Thanks Robin. Every pattern I've tried following your instructions have turned out lovely.
Of course, it's your project, so be creative and do what works best for you.
Its so simple and your work is neat. This goes into my to do list.❤

Awh, thank you so much Carin!🥹🤗
If you get bored and decide not to finish the blocks, the circles make great drink coasters!
As always, another brilliant tutorial - thank you. Saving this to my playlist. 💜

Thank you Robin you are a great teacher & thank you for staying with us all the way round but what size hook are you using.please❤
Hi Alison, I always suggest using the recommended hook size on your chosen yarn ball.😃🧶
That's so pretty, & a Loverly blanket. It would make a nice Cardigan.
TFS Robin, & take care too. ❤🙂🐶
Thank you and I love the cardigan idea!😃

Hi Robin, these are so Cool! Can’t wait to make some. TY for an easy to understand tutorial! 🧶🫂
You’re so welcome Dian, they are fun!😃🧶
Love this idea! I tend to crochet tight so I modified the last row corners...2 hdc, 2 ch, 2 hdc...works a better square for me...
I know this is probably not for the festival blanket, but I am totally adding this to my rotation!
It's not 😅 but yes, you could absolutely adapt it for it! Or, hang fire til Thursday as the smiley face square is a circle!
That's the one I'm waiting for! 😃
This soooo good, I need to make 4 blankets and this will be a lovely blanket! Thank you!
You’re so welcome!😃
This is a great stash buster! ❤
Absolutely! 😀🧶
That's beautiful. I want to make one like this. I have made several afghans this year to use up yarn and this one may be the next. 😊
🥰🧶
You make this look so easy!
🥰🤗
Really a nice design and moreover a great idea to create a ɓeautiful end product with leftovers. Love from India 🇮🇳 ♥️ ❤️ 💕
Thank you so much and it is a great stash buster yes!😃🧶
Perfect for a temperature blanket although I’ve given up on the standing treble. No matter how tight I hold my tension I have a huge loop at the end.

Just finished mine. Was quite a big job with 60 squares (10 colors x 6 squares)
Make your own twister mat!
Yessss!!!🙌
Beautiful... love it
Thank you! 😊
Can we do 1 or 2 additional rows around the circle to make the circles larger?? Or will that really mess up the white outside rows??
So cute!!🎉
Love it so cute ❤❤❤❤❤

Wow, thank you. This is great.
You’re welcome!😃🧶
I like the colorful motif. I wish I could find a video on how to turn a granny square into a circle. Cheers!
Can I use an extended double crochet instead of a treble?
Can you show how I do the edging round all this blanket? Thank you x
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
Great tutorial Robin thank you. But what size hook are you using?. Is a size 4 ok with DK wool.?
Cute! Thank you!❤🙂
You’re welcome Donna!😃
Robin, is this part of the pick and mix blanket?
It isn't no 😀 If you hang fire til Thursday, I have the smiley face square going live which is basically a circle in a square!
Is there an alternative to the standing treble? Mine keeping ending up with a gap and loop? Otherwise I absolutely love this tutorial! I’m having the best time making my circles! Thank you!!!
