    We are making this with a size 9 hook and so far so good! No idea how big it'll be by the time I decide it's baby blanket size...

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  5 месяцев назад

      That sounds wonderful! Using a size 9 hook should give your project a nice texture and drape. As for the size, it's always a bit of a surprise until you finish and measure. But a common size for a baby blanket is 90 by 90 cm.

  • @ClaudySchmidt
    @ClaudySchmidt 9 месяцев назад +4

    Hi. Why does it curl the bigger you go? Love the pattern

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  9 месяцев назад +4

      I'm glad you love the pattern! 🥰 Curling in crochet projects, especially when working in the round, can be a common issue. It's often caused by the tension and stitch combination you're using. Here are a few tips to help reduce or eliminate the curling:
      Tension: Make sure your tension is consistent throughout your project. If your stitches are too tight, it can cause the work to curl. Try to maintain a relaxed and even tension.
      Blocking: After completing your project, blocking can help relax the fibers and shape the piece. Wet blocking involves dampening your work and then pinning it into shape, allowing it to dry in the desired form.
      Hook Size: Experimenting with a larger hook size may also help. A larger hook can create looser stitches, reducing the tendency to curl.
      I hope the advice really helps. Happy crocheting! 🧶😊

    Thank you for this perfect toturial. Could you suggest me the best yarn thikness and needle size for this baby blanket? :)

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  7 месяцев назад +1

      You're welcome! For a baby blanket, you'll want a soft and cozy yarn that's also easy to care for. A light or medium-weight (worsted) yarn is a good choice, such as a yarn labeled as "baby yarn" As for needle size, it depends on the yarn and your personal tension, but typically a US size 7 or 8 (4.5mm-5mm) needle works well with worsted weight yarn. Happy crocheting on your blanket project! 😊👶🧶

    I love this this tutorial! I just started crocheting again after more than 20 years. My first blanket was so pretty with your help! One queston...My edges were very wavy and the middle curved in. I know that has something to do with tension. Any suggestions?

      @AdoreCreaCrochet  3 месяца назад

      I'm so glad you loved the tutorial and that it helped you create such a beautiful blanket! It’s wonderful that you’re back to crocheting after so many years. For your wavy edges and curving middle, here are a few suggestions:
      Tension: Try to maintain an even tension throughout your work. Practicing consistent tension can help improve the overall look of your squares.
      Blocking: This helps to smooth out any waviness
      Hook Size: Sometimes using a different hook size can help with tension issues. If your work is too tight, try using a slightly larger hook. If it’s too loose, try a smaller hook.
      I hope these tips help! Keep up the great work, and happy crocheting! 🌸

    I’ve been making a baby blanket with this pattern, it started to bunch up on the ends around row 7 or 8 and I’m not to sure if it’s a trust the process type of thing or if I’ve done something wrong, but it’s like with more rows I add it starts getting very ruffled

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  9 месяцев назад

      It sounds like you might be experiencing tension issues or unintentional increases in your baby blanket. Here are some common reasons for a project to bunch up or become ruffled, particularly towards the ends:
      Tension Consistency: Ensure that you maintain a consistent tension throughout your work. If the tension is tighter or looser in certain sections, it can lead to uneven edges.
      Stitch Count: Double-check your stitch count in each row. Make sure you are following the pattern correctly and not accidentally adding or skipping stitches, especially at the ends.
      Blocking: Once your baby blanket is finished, you might consider blocking it. Blocking involves wetting the project and shaping it to the correct dimensions. This can help even out stitches and eliminate any unwanted bunching or ruffling.
      Hook Size: If you notice that your project is getting ruffled, it might be worth checking if you're using the recommended hook size for the yarn and pattern. Using a larger or smaller hook than suggested can affect the drape and tension of your work.
      Increasing Correctly: If the pattern involves increases, make sure you're placing them in the designated spaces and not inadvertently adding extra stitches.
      I hope that you find the solution to the problem. Happy crocheting! 🧶

    Would you please tell me how much yarn I need for a baby blanket as well as the crochet hook size that you used? Thank you very much! Your tutorial is very easy to follow. ❤

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  4 месяца назад

      I'm so glad you found the tutorial easy to follow! 🥰
      For a baby blanket, the amount of yarn you'll need and the hook size can vary based on the yarn weight. Here are some general guidelines:
      Yarn Amount: For a standard baby blanket, you typically need about 800 to 1000 yards of yarn.
      Crochet Hook Size: The hook size I used is a 4.5mm (US 7) hook, but you should always check the yarn label for the recommended hook size and adjust based on your tension and desired blanket texture.
      Always make sure to do a gauge swatch to ensure your stitches match your desired outcome.
      Happy crocheting, and I'm thrilled you enjoyed the tutorial! ❤

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet

      I've actually never thought about that. My approach has always been to keep crocheting rounds until my blanket is the size I want. for a baby blanket it is approx. 90x90 cm. I don't spend time counting the rounds at all, but just use my measuring tape to measure the blanket as I go.😊

    How many of these does it take for a baby blanket.? Also if you use wool doesn’t it have to be washed in cold water?

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi🥰 This pattern is crocheted in continuos rounds until it has a size of approx. 90 x 90 cm. or whatever you find suitable for a baby blanket. For this purpose, you need approx. use 9-10 skeins of 50 grams. If you use sport weight yarn.
      Best of luck with your project😊

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  Год назад +3

      To make a blanket you will just continue to make more and more rounds until the blanket is large enough approx 90x90 cm. 😊

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet

      This can happen sometimes if you use very thick yarn, or if the gauge is too tight for the yarn. You are not suposed to turn your work in this pattern. Best of luck with your project❤️

    How much yarn is needed for this baby blanket, please?

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  11 месяцев назад +1

      It really depends on how big you wnat the blanket to be and the thichness of your yarn and gauge etc. I made a baby blanket in sportweight yarn that measure 70x70 cm and used about 350 grams of yarn. Godd luck with your project😊
