Very well explained. You are right about the process of maturing,I’ve been micro loced a little over 3 years and although they all look like they are mature,I still see some of them still going through a maturing process. These type of los take longer to mature then traditional locs which I had before but I will say I love my micro locs better than when I had traditional locs. Your hair is very beautiful
That’s crazy because I’m on my second set of traditional and I’m considering micro locs. I’m at 11mo on my traditional loc journey and I’ll say these reasons are def applicable to any kind of locs. I'm really considering microlocs. I love being a loose natural but it really is stressing me out a bit. I have kinda longish 4c hair and single strand knots, breakage, knotting, painful detangling etc. I love the way my hair looks but as it gets longer I wonder if I can keep up with it. I am pretty impatient but when it comes to my hair I don't mind taking days taking care of it. My question is, do microlocs get a lot of knots/SSK/breakage and that kinda thing?
@@TyKaraAnn yeah. I'm thinking about it heavily but a lot of people don't want me to get locs cuz I have a lot of hair and they like it. So I'm trying to work on that confidence like you said so I can get to a place where I don't care what they think.
I love your locks. I also like your video, very real and respectful. I am restarting my lock journey. Interlocking braid method, I am confident and ready to begin again.
Personally, I think that locs are unique to each person. Also, I understand that some want things they can't afford or don't want to spend the money on. I also think that practice makes perfect. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Only thing I can say fr having been loc’d for 3 years now is pls don’t bleach or dye your locs lol that’s my biggest tip!!! as well as doing your research because it’s honesty not for everyone and that’s ok too☺️
Your hair is gorgeous! Great video of what you can expect( or shouldn’t expect)! I have said that also about y do they refer to their hair as “dread locs”, and then some or even a lot of ppl even refer to their hair as “dreads” which is worst! Currently I’m looking for a sisterlocks consultant . I’m both excited and apprehensive but I want to give this look a try because sisterlocks and microlocks are so beautiful!!
You’re cute. You read the people in the nicest way …. Respectfully 😅😅. I loved that part the most. I’ve always been different and I’m loved for that. I’m DEFINITELY doing this!
Me too but I went for it bc I was tired of detangling for what seemed like hours. I was very happy with my decision after my first wash one week post my diy 2 strand twists install. The peace of mind and freedom is priceless. Do it! ❤️
U it at gonna look fabulous! I had traditional locs for 5 years then combed them out and started microlocs and I love them! 4 years in, I’m completely in love with my hair!!
Everyone’s locs look different ofc, but Queen Eleem on RUclips started with 4c hair. You can also search by density to get a vague idea of how the beginning of the journey may look
I have 4c hair and I decided to microloc my hair 3 yrs ago and I love it. Kinkier hair will loc more easily and looks amazing locd. I finally have freedom with no more long detangling sessions.
Gosh I've missed you!!!!!!!!!! Love your facial expressions haha...and yes, yours may take 2 more years to be fully locked, sorry. I think mine may be loced within a year or a yr and a half but we'll see after Sept ;-)
Love your locs! And yess there is nothing dreadful about our locs!! 😂 And most newbies can probably comb out within a year maybe ..possibly i combed out 3 year set (grueling tho) lol but 1 year may be better if they change their mind 😅
Thank you for all of the helpful tips. I’m considering micro locs. I’ve heard people say you don’t need to moisturize. I can’t get my head around that concept, coming from being natural for about 7 years. Do you moisturize? Why or why not?
Mine aren't matured, but they definitely are settled and on their way. I was the opposite of you, I thought my hair would take a minimum of 2 years to settle/mature, and was told by my initial consultant that it would. Then after about a year, my (different) loctician said that they were settled. No slippage, round, uniform locs. They're definitely growing "out" instead of down, but I'll hit two years in April so I'm doing fine. apparently the person who installed my sister locks did them bigger than a lot of consultants would have, so my fairly dense hair was in about 420 locks. Now it's at 400, and I think that helped it immature faster.
My locs not frizzy in five years because I haven't use any kind of products on my locs in five years. No products . My locs are very long and healthy. People are all ways saying how good my locs look. I style them all the time.
If you have small children, special needs kids, or several heads of natural hair to care for ; think long before choosing micros!!! I ended up picking out 3 year old sisterlocs after my daughter's hair started growing long.
Thanks for this video. About how long does it take to do your retie, and how often do you do it? I'm thinking to transition from loose natural to micro locs
Can microlocs be done on a relaxed hair? I really need answers be I’m ready to start. If I have to learn how to retie it I will. I’m just kinda tired of trying to decide on what to do next with my hair and now my daughter🤷🏾♀️ A bit draining sometimes😔

I wouldn't say it gets a lot of knots
This is where I am as well. I'm tired of the tangles and the single strand knots. I feel like locs will save me from these. Am I wrong?
Hey ya'll, HAPPY NEW YEAR 🥳 I'm wishing you all Love, Joy, Peace and Blessings in 2021❤️❤️❤️
Happy New Year 🖤✨🍾
I'm doing so much research cuz I want locs. I'm not in a place to get them right now but I'm thinking about them for later on
It's great you are doing your research.
❤️
Your hair looks beautiful! 😍
Thank you 😊
Only thing I can say fr having been loc’d for 3 years now is pls don’t bleach or dye your locs lol that’s my biggest tip!!! as well as doing your research because it’s honesty not for everyone and that’s ok too☺️
Your hair is gorgeous!
Love your locs 😍😍😍
Thank you!
You’re cute. You read the people in the nicest way …. Respectfully 😅😅. I loved that part the most. I’ve always been different and I’m loved for that. I’m DEFINITELY doing this!
Unrelated but you’re so pretty 😍
Ugh, i like to change my style but I keep wanting micro locs because it's less to do with my hair. I'm at a crossroads with it.
Been natural for 5yrs. I have 4c hair looking to do my own microlocks but afraid how it may look 🥺
It’s gon’ b poppin!
I love the frizz on my locs
You're Soo pretty and your locks are lovely locks. May Yah bless you to know him
Thank you!
Girl! Love your hair, can’t wait to get micro locs, tthe hair is so full and looking healthy!
Thank you!
I just got small starter locs. I do love to change up my hairstyle so I made them small so I can do braids and faux locs and wear wigs
And most newbies can probably comb out within a year maybe ..possibly i combed out 3 year set (grueling tho) lol but 1 year may be better if they change their mind 😅
Thank you!!!
Ok but your fail videos convinced me not to do it at home lolol. I started my own though like you did. Your hair is gorgeous though 😍
Thank you for all of the helpful tips. I’m considering micro locs. I’ve heard people say you don’t need to moisturize. I can’t get my head around that concept, coming from being natural for about 7 years. Do you moisturize? Why or why not?
I do moisturize everyday.
locs or not it's still your hair, and it needs to be moisturized or else it will get brittle and break off😬
Here watching
Can I put extensions on micro locks?
You have beautiful microlocks!
Thank you❤️
Very informative video! Thanks! Where did you get your top from? It's gorgeous! And you are too btw. You're makeup is on point! 😍
It is wrong to compare micro locks to mini micro twists? I actually would micro twist my hair really small and then the take them out.
Did you have any issues with your twist unraveling and if so, did you retwisf them? Or did you leave them unraveled?
I did have that problem, I just re-twisted them and braided the ends to be sure it didn't unravel again.
❤️
How do you count these micro locs cause I just did mine and I didn’t count them nor did I part the in a particular way until I got to the front
We counted them when we installed them
Whew child that’s too much I just installed them lol
This video was perfection!!!!!
I truly love the look though.
another great video and insightful
Glad you enjoyed it
And I can still get sew ins and put on a full lace wig
I love your hair
Thank you!
She looks like Monica the r and b singer
Your hair is pretty I like them a lot and they are gorgeous
Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. Needed to hear this🙂
My locs not frizzy in five years because I haven't use any kind of products on my locs in five years.
I'm thinking to transition from loose natural to micro locs
your hair is beautiful.... your hair are my hair goals
Thank you!!
Really appreciated the chapters shortcut. Tx!
You're very welcome!
You're so pretty
Mine locked up by the end of year one. Coarse 4c hair
Do you recommend for fine hair ? (I have medium density)
It’s been 3 years….are they mature now??
Did you cut your hair before you locked your hair?
Could I use sha butter in my new loc
I wouldn’t use anything thick like shea butter when your locs are so new. Doing so may cause unnecessary build up
Thanks much
Can microlocs be done on a relaxed hair? I really need answers be I’m ready to start. If I have to learn how to retie it I will.
I’m just kinda tired of trying to decide on what to do next with my hair and now my daughter🤷🏾♀️
A bit draining sometimes😔
Yes you can! check out Bindi Marc's channel
Great tips....I love your locs BTW
Hair is beautiful!
Can I braid extensions into sister locs
