    My Sisterlock’s installation was April 7th & 8th. My “Ugly Stage” lasted about 3 hours. I put my bonnet on, told myself to trust the process and went to bed. When I woke up Sunday morning, I was in a new state of mind. This was my Awakening Stage. Five weeks in and I’m loving and embracing every step of this journey!❤

I would not have gotten them if I had realized this before. Now, my hair is starting to get fuller and the sides aren’t as noticeable. This is a process so as the sister in the video above states you have to have patience. I’m learning this.

    Anything that can be done with the hair, you can do yourself. As far as trademarking is concerned, anyone can trademark anything. All people have to do is to give it your own tweeks, then get it trademarked. Who makes the rule for you to follow? People, stop letting people tell you all sort of foolishness about sister locks. All they are is a different type of locks, and nowadays people are coming with all types of locks. Everything is not for everyone, so we need not get bent out of shape with any locks regardless of what they call them. You can take care of your own hair regardless of what you have in. Both me and my daughter have sister locks for a long time with no problems. We do our hair ourselves. People will rip you off financially if you let them. Locks have been around forever, you just have to be willing to know how to take care of your hair, and be willing to do so.

Never been there past 2. 4 point rotation, usually done in 130 to 145. No lolligagging. Her mother does it too. Sometimes there is 4 of us in the room. I too have some issues. There was a lil slippage on a few, but still have a bud on it. There are a few that bunched but still budded. There are some not budded at all. I don't fret about it. It's still low maintenance to me. Not a bunch of product, and it looks good on me. I look at it like this. It's gone do what it's gone do. As it gets longer it will all blend in.

    Hello. My granddaughter is 4 years old will be 5 this April. My granddaughter dislike getting her hair done all the time and she's tender headed. I tried her hair with the dreads and that didn't work for me. I waited a while. She still didn't like getting her hair washed or style. I made the decision to get Sister Locs for her. I don't think she understood the process but she said grandma I'm so excited to get my hair done. I took her at eight in the morning and she was done by at 4:30pm. I think the time was not that long bcuz she didn't take it to the very end. She put rollers in to give it the curly look. I thought it was going to be like hanging, but I guess to take the pressure off of having a child sit this long, the Specialist didn't take it to the ends. I feel the technician did a wonderful job. The thing is, my grand suffers with very dry scalp and I can't put oil on her scalp. She got her locs on Feb 6 2022 so she is super new in her locs. She loves her hair. Bcuz her technician did such awesome parting I can put it in a few styles with the ends being loose I'm trying to adjust with that. In all I'm trying to get pass the beginning stage. It's hard for me bcuz I like her hair neat and fresh all the time. The fact that I only have to tidy her hair before school with some hair ornaments is a plus. Yes it's kind of fuzzy around the edges and I can't use any edge control, but I'm trying to stick that out. I want to put this out there, her Loc Specialist is so so sweet, professional and patience + more.😊 My granddaughter loved her and I was also happy with her. She made sure my grand had her meals and snacks. Now I just have to get use of this Loc journey.😊. Blessings!!!!💕

    Ive had sisterlocks for 3 years now, i spent $1200 for my install and first retie and i havent spent any money since because i do them myself! A monthly retie takes me 2-3 hours and i do it while watching a movie or i break it up into 1-2 days depending on what i feel like. I also enjoy doing it it’s very meditative. The rest of the month i shampoo and go. It’s extremely low maintenance. Dont get lint because i dont use oils and if i did i would just dye my hair black. I did not follow the rules when i got them i experimented and wet them everyday. If you can learn to care for your hair yourself its extremely low maintenance and affordable

    • @AnnyKeyz
      @AnnyKeyz  2 года назад +2

      Installation costs truly depends on where you are and who is doing it (trainee vs certified consultant). It also depends on your hair length. Roughly it is between 500$ and 1000$ for 5 inches of hair. Do not quote me... The consultant determines the pricing. But just to give you an idea...
      You need a retie every 4 weeks in the beginning. Then it goes to 5 weeks. Right now I try to go every 6 weeks, but life happens and I do go passed that fairly often.

    I have Sisterlocs, but I am probably going to switch to microlocs because of how hard it is to find anyone to retighten them. It has been 18 months, but I am moving. It was already incredible trying to find someone to install, but retightens are just as hard (if not harder because locticians are not taking transfer clients). It's just way too exclusionary and therefore inaccessible. It's just not very practical if you move often (~every 2 years)

    • @AnnyKeyz
      @AnnyKeyz  5 месяцев назад +1

      I can understand that. I don’t know what I would do if I had to find a new loctician every couple of years. I had a very hard time when my loctician was injured for a few months and could not do my retightnings. Not fun at all. I agree, in this case, Microlocs are a good idea.

      It is recommended to check the Sisterlocks website to verify if there are Sisterlocks consultants or trainees in your area. Getting Microlocs is from a local shop is also a great option.

    What r the rules? And what do you consider expensive? $1000?

    • @ruthiewhite7333
      @ruthiewhite7333 3 месяца назад

      $1200 for me back in 2020. I live in AR, and some charge up to $2000 depending on the length of the hair.

    • @AnnyKeyz
      @AnnyKeyz  2 месяца назад

      The rules are mostly whatever your consultant says is best to start your locs on the right foot. Mine were: you cannot wash too often or freely, you need to braid and band. You should not color or bleach. You should not use moisturizers (like moisturizing shampoos, conditioners, deep conditioners, moisturizing sprays, etc). You should limit styling. There may be more but these are the ones I remember. These rules apply from the establishment and last a few weeks or a few months depending on your hair. As for the price, 1000$ is not expensive, in my opinion. That was the price 5 years ago in Montreal, Canada.

      Definitely not... I hope I didn't say that. 🤔 You just need to follow the Sisterlocks training. But with all the free access to information anyone with talent and patience can do the style, no training, no certification, no trademark.

      Oh… no… the video is to share the negative parts of Sisterlocks. Nothing is always rainbows and sunshine all the time. It’s better to know what you’re getting into before; the good the bad and the ugly. I couldn’t just share the good. But I don’t have many videos sharing the bad. I really love my locs. The majority of my videos about them show that. But, I myself wanted to know about everything when I was researching to make an informed decision. I shared everything I could in the beginning…. 💖

    Beautiful commentary on SL 😊
    But please be careful out here when it comes to your SL , everyone is not out here for your good on your hair periodT.
    I let a girl In Hayward CA, name Kristin do my Sisterlock install- 🤦🏽‍♀️ she was awful to say the least and very unprofessional.
    I went to her for a couple of more months, but my gut told me to stop going to her.
    She did not know what she was doing. She did not do the Sisterlocs grid- she messed up my hair- and had the nerve to get upset because I stopped tipping her. In the meantime I was looking for a new sister Loctician ….and I actually reported her to Sisterlock foundation . I have a new lady now , in San Leandro California. She is amazing ! Some of these folks out here do not want to take care of your hair. They only want the money. And her attitude was definitely from awful 😞
    If you feel it in your gut, please do your research. Do not go to the first person you see! This is my second set of Sisterlocks. Soon I will be doing a channel myself regarding my Sisterlock journey. 😉 I made sure that I told as many folks as I could… be safe out here when it comes to your hair.
